Chapter 506: [Crimson Inheritance] (25)

The berry Daisy so carefully brought to his lips—based on the character persona he had crafted for himself, there was no way he would ever refuse such an unexpected "gift." If anything, he would eagerly open his mouth without a moment’s hesitation, like a baby bird waiting to be fed.

And in reality, Silvanus did exactly that.

He opened his mouth wide, his eyes fixed on Daisy with nothing but anticipation and excitement, devoid of even the slightest trace of calculation. One could almost see the tears shimmering in those eyes, tears born of overwhelming happiness.

From the moment Daisy tilted her head and that strange rusted creaking sound came from her, they did not face each other for long, yet Silvanus felt as though his throat had already gone dry.

His mind often produced bizarre thoughts, and at this very moment, his attention began to drift once again.

What if Daisy’s sharp nails really pierced his throat?

They would probably go straight through his esophagus and sever his carotid artery as well...

Just then, the raspberry in Daisy’s hand finally dropped into Silvanus’s mouth.

He chewed it slowly, as though he treasured it more than anything else in the world.

A tear rolled down his cheek as he wrapped his arms around Daisy’s towering body and whispered in a trembling voice,

"You always make me think that you love me too, Daisy. I love you..."

Whether Daisy could hear Silvanus’s final confession or not was impossible to know, because in the very next moment, the scene before them vanished completely. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦

In an instant, they had returned to the real restroom outside the corridor.

Only then did Nick realize that the restroom was not nearly as filthy or foul-smelling as it had seemed. Apparently, everything they had experienced had happened simply because Daisy had become aware of their arrival.

Instinctively, he looked toward Silvanus, only to find him standing there with his head lowered, his back slightly hunched, looking every bit like a man suffering from being separated from the one he loved.

Recalling Daisy’s appearance, Nick could not help shuddering. A wave of nausea rose in his stomach, yet he truly could not bear to see Silvanus in such a dejected state.

Just as he was about to step forward and offer some comfort, Silvanus’s hoarse voice rang out.

"Neo must be starving. Pick out the nicest berries and bring them back for him."

Nick hesitated.

"And what about you—"

Before he could finish speaking, Silvanus suddenly turned around, his bloodshot eyes fixed on him in anguish.

Nick froze for a moment, then said nothing more and quickly turned around to leave.

Heartbroken people really were terrifying.

But when he thought about how Silvanus was genuinely sincere toward that thing, and how devastated he was simply because he had been separated from it, Nick suddenly felt that, in a certain sense, Silvanus himself was terrifying as well.

Meanwhile, after the door swung shut and he confirmed that Nick had gone far enough away, Silvanus could no longer endure it. He immediately lunged toward a toilet stall, and the sound of violent retching echoed through the restroom.

"Mmh... blegh... urgh..."

Without much effort, he threw up everything in his stomach, though after going hungry for an entire night, there was hardly anything left inside to begin with.

He rationally understood that the filth covering Daisy’s hands belonged to another space. Once he returned here, it would disappear just as his wounds had disappeared.

But reason alone was clearly not enough.

"Blegh..."

Only when he could produce nothing but dry, meaningless retching did Silvanus finally stop.

His steps were slightly unsteady as he made his way to the sink.

Splash, splash, splash...

Silvanus scooped up handfuls of water and splashed them onto his face. He frowned as he watched the water continuously flow down the drain. Some of it ran into his eyes, causing them to sting. The corners of his eyes reddened from the irritation.

At last, he raised his head and met his own reflection in the mirror.

Several strands of his damp hair clung to his face, while others hung loosely, droplets still falling from them. The water traced the flawless contours of his features before gathering at his chin and finally dripping off.

His colored eyes shimmered with moisture, as though he had just finished crying.

But anyone who had just vomited that violently would tear up, wouldn’t they?

Wasn’t that perfectly normal?

The comment section paused for only a brief moment before exploding.

[Holy shit, that face!!!!]

[Why does he have to be an artist under Happy TV Network when he could be having a mutually beneficial relationship with me instead?!]

[Please stay alive. A face like this deserves to keep being admired and shared with the world!]

[I genuinely despise useless pretty faces, but I have to admit this guy is actually something else.]

[I finally understand why Daisy couldn’t bring herself to kill Silvanus right away. If you have a toy this beautiful, keeping it around isn’t such a bad idea, right?]

[This face gives me all the fantasies of a perfect corpse. Please look beautiful even when you die.]

Silvanus glanced over the comments before suddenly leaning back and naturally sitting down on the closed toilet lid.

The movement was smooth and effortless, yet somehow seemed completely drained of strength.

Even so, he did not collapse onto the floor. Instead, he landed precisely where he intended to.

His expression carried a hint of weariness and laziness. Tilting his head toward the comment section, he smiled faintly and said,

"Wouldn’t I look even better alive?"

[Silvanus, don’t pay attention to those weirdos. Look at me, look at me, look at me!]

Most viewer IDs consisted of strings of asterisks, but increasingly strange usernames had begun appearing in the comments.

For example, there was [Silvanus’s First Wife], or [When Is Silvanus Retiring]. Even more outrageous was [Silvanus’s Armpit Hair]. Some usernames were so absurd they could not even be written out, for fear of triggering censorship.

Silvanus was genuinely becoming dizzy from all of it. He found it both amusing and helplessly ridiculous, though none of that showed on his face.

His smile was exceptionally sweet as he looked toward the viewer currently occupying the top spot in his fandom ranking.

According to Nine’s explanation, this was undoubtedly the viewer who paid the most attention to him and had probably sent him the most gifts. Although he would not know exactly what he had received until after leaving the dungeon, rankings were something that could never be wrong.

This viewer’s ID was surprisingly normal:

[Doesn’t Believe in Love]

It seemed this viewer held a rather unfriendly attitude toward romance. There was no indication of gender, and Silvanus did not even know whether these viewers possessed such a concept in the first place.

He smiled, his voice sweet and gentle.

"My thanks to my current number-one viewer. May I know what I should call you?"

The viewers clearly had not expected Silvanus to do something like this. The comments immediately erupted once more.

However, whenever [Doesn’t Believe in Love] posted a comment, a golden glow wrapped around it, causing all the surrounding messages to fade into the background.

[Call me Ms. Love.]
