Chapter 505: [Crimson Inheritance] (24)

The first to arrive was Nick.

Without the slightest hesitation, he threw himself toward Silvanus and immediately hid behind him.

Nick’s entire body was trembling slightly, but after confirming that he was safely sheltered behind Silvanus’s tall figure, he couldn’t help poking his head out to see whether that thing had arrived yet.

It was at that very moment that he instantly regretted his decision.

He should never have been curious. At the very least... he should have kept his eyes tightly shut from beginning to end!

Daisy had arrived.

She looked almost no different from the last time they had met. She was so tall that even with her back hunched over, she still brushed against the ceiling. The room immediately felt cramped with her presence.

From this angle, looking upward through the dense mass of hair that resembled a gigantic heap of moss, one could see her face, distorted by the maggots endlessly feasting upon it. Nothing had changed.

Slowly, ever so slowly, she approached, bringing death with her.

"Sil... Silvanus..." Nick could feel it. He had already prepared himself for the worst possible outcome, but he had never imagined it would be this bad. If he had to die at the hands of that thing, he would rather die by Silvanus’s hand instead. He had even finished composing his last words.

Yet at that same moment, Silvanus’s robe slipped from Nick’s grasp.

Silvanus actually strode forward without the slightest hesitation!

Of course, there was no room for hesitation in Silvanus’s performance.

Before Daisy could draw near, he had already taken the initiative to approach her.

Spreading his arms wide, his steps firm and decisive, the smile on his face bright and joyful, and the lively sparkle dancing in his eyes entirely genuine, he walked forward while his pleasant voice rang out:

"Daisy, at last we meet again. I’ve truly missed you, but you’re far too heartless. Tell me, if I hadn’t come looking for you myself, would you never have thought of me?"

The comment section was completely speechless.

[Being able to gaze at a monster with such affectionate eyes... I guess he does have some talent.]

[Taking bets on whether Silvanus lives or dies in this scene. I’ll go first—500 credits says he gets eaten alive.]

[Hahaha, I’ll join in. 20 credits.]

[You dare bring out a measly 20 credits? Aren’t you afraid of polluting my husband’s livestream with that trash, you bastards?]

[1000 credits on Silvanus surviving.]

[It’s just a game. Who would actually spend money on a newcomer?!]

[These face-fans have nothing except money.]

Thud!

At that moment, the sound of flesh being pierced suddenly rang out.

A bundle of razor-sharp hair effortlessly punched through Silvanus’s abdomen. Fresh blood immediately burst forth, nearly stopping him from taking another step forward.

"Silvanus!"

Nick shouted and was about to rush forward, but Silvanus turned around at that moment. His eyes were slightly bloodshot as he stared at Nick and roared coldly,

"Get lost!"

"How could the likes of you ever be worthy of approaching Daisy?!"

Worthy or not, you’re about to die!

Nick was so anxious he felt like crying, yet he didn’t dare truly disobey Silvanus. All he could do was stomp his feet helplessly in place.

However, he would soon realize that he was in trouble as well.

The mass of hair had already begun gathering together, surging upward in endless waves. It crawled up from Nick’s feet like a nest of venomous snakes, slowly tightening around his throat.

Meanwhile, Silvanus reached out and pulled the strands of hair from his body. Blood and fragments of flesh fell to the floor, yet he didn’t let out so much as a groan. If not for his pale face and the cold sweat running down it, no one would have been able to tell how much pain he was enduring.

He gently stroked the hair before him and smiled softly.

"Don’t be angry, Daisy. There’s no need to rush."

"I can’t accomplish everything without a little help..."

As he spoke, he buried himself in the enormous mass of hair before him, wearing an intoxicated expression as though he couldn’t feel the sliminess or the strange stench at all.

In a gentle voice, he said,

"I’m sorry for coming here without bringing anyone’s head with me, but these things take time. And I... I’ve missed you too much. I’ve realized that I haven’t changed at all. I still can’t live without you..."

Listening to Silvanus’s stream of words from behind him, Nick felt as though something inside him had shattered.

Silvanus liked this thing?

What exactly was their relationship?

But this thing... could he really like something like this?

It wasn’t even human!

Yet Nick couldn’t deny that after Silvanus’s heartfelt confession, the suffocating sense of imprisonment created by the hair around him gradually faded away, although he could still feel the strands crawling across his body.

They hadn’t abandoned their intention to kill him.

They had merely slowed down.

At that moment, a hand suddenly reached over and picked a handful of raspberries from Nick’s arms.

Having been terrified out of his wits earlier, Nick had crushed most of them. Berry juice had soaked through his clothes, and now it stained Silvanus’s hand as well—a vivid crimson, not blood, but unsettling enough to resemble it.

Silvanus raised his hand toward Daisy and said softly,

"Have some, Daisy. They’re very sweet."

Silence fell over the room.

Nick could barely hear anything besides the pounding of his own heartbeat.

Then, the hair that had been swirling around them suddenly withdrew before wrapping itself around Silvanus.

At last, Daisy raised one of her unnaturally long arms. The fingernails on her hand were so absurdly long that they could easily pierce through an ordinary person’s skull.

She accepted the berry from Silvanus’s hand.

It felt as though the slightest movement from her could reduce everything to pieces. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮

Yet the berry did not burst.

Instead, it was delicately held between two of her razor-sharp nails before being brought in front of Silvanus.

The room fell silent once more.

Even though she said nothing, anyone looking at her could understand exactly what she meant.

Silvanus: "..."

Suddenly, death didn’t seem all that difficult to accept.
