Chapter 98: Chapter 98: Lu Tingyan and Yelias Clash on the Livestream
Bai Su nodded thoughtfully. "I agree, Doctor Yelias seems to have a wonderful personality. He’s so handsome—he looks like he’d be very easy to get along with."
’The pressure’s easing up a little.’
’It was one thing when I wasn’t trying to compete with anyone. But now that I suddenly know the four male leads are supposed to be mine, I can’t be as composed as before. I’m actually a little nervous...’
Yelias’s eyebrow rose at her words. "You think he’s handsome?"
Bai Su, oblivious to the strange look on his face, nodded frankly. "Of course he is! He’s honestly the most gorgeous Beastman I’ve ever laid eyes on!"
’There’s nothing wrong with praising his grandson in front of him, right!’
And she wasn’t lying. Of the male leads she had seen, Yelias’s features were indeed the most beautiful.
Or rather, the most to her liking.
Lu Tingyan’s looks were too sharp and domineering. He had the oppressive air of someone who commanded respect without being angry.
As a natural-born leader, he seemed extremely difficult to approach, creating a sense of distance.
And there was no need to even mention Li Chenlin. With that deathly pale skin and those deep-set eyes, he had a permanent gloomy, obsessive buff active. He just wasn’t a ray of sunshine.
Not like Yelias, whose features were perfectly handsome. His facial structure was sharp, but the shape of his eyes and brows was incredibly gentle.
Though his features were deep-set, the lines were softer, reminiscent of a classical Chinese landscape painting—very elegant.
He looked gentle and harmless, making people instantly take a liking to him.
Bai Su still preferred this gentle, refined, pure, and dignified look.
He was miles better than that paranoid, obsessive psycho Li Chenlin!
Yelias finally nodded. "Alright. Since you like him so much, I’ll have him come meet you one of these days."
Bai Su’s eyes lit up. "Okay!"
Her undisguised happiness pleased Yelias.
He unconsciously curved his lips, a genuine delight appearing in his eyes.
*
Bai Su hadn’t expected the old man to be so quick.
The very next day, Yelias showed up at her door.
Hearing the knock, Bai Su assumed it was the old man.
He usually arrived at the shop around this time.
The moment she opened the door, Bai Su froze, and then her eyes lit up. "Doctor Yelias?!"
Yelias wore a gentle, gentlemanly smile. "You can just call me Yelias."
He wasn’t wearing his doctor’s coat today, just a casual shirt and trousers with a light trench coat over them, making his already slender frame look even more tall and handsome.
His long hair was tied back with a small hair tie, looking elegant and free-flowing.
In his arms, he held a bouquet of fresh, delicate pink roses, wrapped in a simple, elegant style.
He extended the flowers like a gentleman. "My first time visiting, so these are for you. Grandpa said he wasn’t sure what you liked, so he told me to just pick something myself. I hope you like them."
Bai Su accepted the flowers, a little embarrassed, and quickly ushered him inside. "Thank you, I love them.
"Please, come in! I didn’t expect you so early, I haven’t prepared anything."
As she spoke, she went to find a vase to put the flowers in.
’This male lead is a true gentleman, and so romantic.’
In the novel, he, Lu Tingyan, and Li Chenlin were two opposite extremes.
Lu Tingyan was more of a pragmatist. There weren’t many flowery gestures with him; he was used to his position as a leader, planning and arranging everything from behind the scenes.
His interactions with Bai Su mostly involved helping her handle all sorts of matters.
And there was no need to even talk about that psycho Li Chenlin.
According to the novel’s plot, Yelias was the most romantic of the male leads, the one who most made her feel like she was actually falling in love.
He was like the perfect lover, tailor-made just for her.
Yelias smiled faintly. "It’s fine. Just go at your own pace."
Bai Su nodded and looked at him. "Why don’t you have a seat in the living room, then? I’ll go get the ingredients ready. Did you have breakfast before you came? Would you like something to eat?"
Yelias walked over to the sofa and sat down in the spot the old man usually took. "Don’t mind me, I’ve already had breakfast."
Seeing him sit in her grandfather’s usual spot, Bai Su paused for a second. After a moment’s thought, she decided to make him a cup of hot tea anyway. "Alrighty, then. Make yourself comfortable. It might be a little while before I’m done. Is it okay if we have lunch around 1 PM?"
Yelias nodded. "That’s fine."
Bai Su hadn’t expected him to come so soon.
If she had known in advance, she wouldn’t have opened the restaurant the next day.
Bai Su started prepping her ingredients and turned on the livestream.
’I have a general idea now. I know which angle to take to help him resolve his issues, but it will probably require him to be here often.’
The restaurant was as bustling as ever.
Bablo had brought his subordinates to help, and Kong Ji had come along as well.
His leg was well enough for him to walk now, and he was currently bustling in and out of her restaurant, an excited smile on his face.
"Susu, am I fast? I’m not slowing the restaurant down, am I?"
Bai Su couldn’t help but answer with an amused smile, "You’re very fast. Kong Ji is doing great."
This was already the dozenth time she had answered his question today.
Ever since the young man’s leg had healed, he had become more and more cheerful. He was like a happy puppy, running wild with inexhaustible energy.
The chat was going crazy over him: [AHHHHHHH! WHO IS THIS YOUNG GUY? HE’S SO CUTE!]
[He doesn’t look like he’s an adult yet, right? The two little bear ears on his head are so cute! And his nose is black. Is that a mark of a Bear Beastman?]
Bai Su laughed. "He’s a Bear Beastman who just came of age."
[I’m going crazy! How come the owner’s restaurant is always full of handsome waiters!]
[I have to go to this restaurant at least once in my life!]
[The Bear Beastman is so cute! Hmmm... the other little cuties were too young, but this one... this one could work.]
[I’m first! I’m calling dibs!]
[Who doesn’t love a happy puppy! Is the owner raising him herself? I’m so jealous!]
Bai Su snorted with laughter and quickly explained, "What do you mean, ’raising him’? He’s the younger brother of one of the staff members helping out."
[He’s so full of sunshine, so youthful, I can’t take it! He’s completely won me over!]
[I have to date a guy like this before I go through menopause!!]
Bai Su couldn’t help but laugh. She hadn’t really thought about it, but with the chat pointing it out so much, she couldn’t help but notice Kong Ji more.
He really was a stunningly handsome kid, and that cheerful, bright energy he had was incredibly endearing.
When Kong Ji saw her staring at him, his face turned a little red. "Susu, what is it?"
Bai Su smiled. "It’s nothing. Go on, get back to work."
"O-okay." Kong Ji couldn’t take her teasing look. Face flushing red, he clutched his tray and scurried away, only to realize he hadn’t taken the food. He rushed back, placed the dishes on his tray, and then hurried out again.
The chat: [AAAAAAH WHAT DO I DO? I THINK THE LITTLE BEAR BEASTMAN LIKES THE OWNER!]
[You’re not the only one, upstairs! A kid his age can’t hide what’s in his eyes!]
[This one’s a keeper.]
[Fan Lu Tingyan has gifted 100 Carnivals: She’s my wife. Thanks.]
Lu Tingyan’s sudden appearance scared the livestream chat into silence for a good long while.
After a long moment of dead air, someone finally posted a hesitant comment:
[Ah... haha, Leader is here too. What a coincidence.]
[The Leader watches livestreams too. Leader, please, make yourself at home.]
Bai Su was completely absorbed in stir-frying up a storm, so she happened to miss these last few comments.
