Chapter 97: Chapter 97: She Wants to See Yelias

He opened the livestream projection again.

The image of Bai Su, bustling about the kitchen with a gentle smile, was projected onto the wall.

The magnified image was so clear that you could see every time a strand of hair from her temples brushed back and forth against her collarbone.

Her head was lowered as she explained and demonstrated how to prepare the ingredients for the audience watching the screen.

He watched silently as her full, moist lips parted and closed, his body growing hotter and hotter.

His hand began to move down.

The air in the room seemed to grow sultry along with him.

「An hour later.」

Li Chenlin thrashed his tail irritably around the room, smashing the desk lamp, vase, and other objects to pieces, his face a mask of fury and gloom.

He couldn’t find release. It was just like before.

Without Bai Su by his side, he couldn’t even get off.

’Dammit!’

The pent-up frustration of his unvented desire made him want to blow up the entire world with a cannonball.

’All the Beastmen in the world can just go die!’

Bai Su’s gentle, smiling voice came from the screen. "If you keep messing up the cuts, don’t get angry or frustrated. Take a deep breath, let your emotions settle down. You can do it."

Li Chenlin felt a sudden sense of grievance. He leaned his snake head against the wall in defeat, burying his face where her neck would be on the projection, his eyes rimmed with red. "Susu..."

Bai Su was busy until just after two in the afternoon.

Luckily, Bai Xiaolang and Bai Xiaoshe had been picked up and taken to the military department, so she didn’t have to worry about them.

As for the remaining few kittens and Little Tiger, they were still young. She had already prepared their lunch and let them eat upstairs with Grandpa Yarco.

When she finished her work and went upstairs, Yelias was leaning against the window as usual, and the little cubs were eating obediently at the dining table.

Strangely enough, the mischievous little ones were always exceptionally obedient and docile around him.

Bai Su saw him lying in the rocking chair with his eyes closed. She couldn’t help but frown slightly as she picked up a nearby jacket to drape over him.

The moment she touched him, he opened his eyes alertly.

Bai Su froze, startled by the sharp, piercing glint in his eyes, and let go of the jacket.

Yelias was the first to react. He took the jacket and gave her a gentle smile. "I was starting to think someone wanted to assassinate me in my old age."

Bai Su looked at him, amused. "Grandpa, you’re way too vigilant."

Yelias watched her with an unreadable expression. "Things haven’t been peaceful lately."

Speaking of which, Bai Su suddenly said, "Grandpa, maybe you should come to the restaurant less often for a while."

Yelias raised an eyebrow. "Why is that?"

Bai Su looked at him with some concern. "You’re getting on in years, and you’re not in the best of health. The weather is getting colder, and I’m worried you won’t be able to handle climbing up and down the mountain every day."

Yelias said, "I’ve told you, I treat it as exercise."

Bai Su didn’t back down. "But it’s going to snow next month. The mountain path will be covered in snow, wet and slippery. You’re an old man; how can I not worry?"

Her eyes flickered, and she suddenly said, "I’d feel better if someone could at least drive you here and back every day. Your grandson, Doctor Yelias, seems very reliable. If he’s not busy, you could have him pick you up and drop you off."

"He is your grandson, after all. He should come see you once in a while. No matter how busy he is, he should still look after the elders in his family."

With that, she draped the jacket over him again, tucking in the corners.

Yelias’s eyes flickered. "Yelias... he’s busy with work."

Bai Su shot him a glare. "No matter how busy he is, he shouldn’t be unable to find time to see you for months. You’ve been coming to my place on this mountain for months, always by yourself. If it comes to it, you can just live here with me. Whenever Doctor Yelias finally has time, he can come pick you up!"

Yelias stared at her for a long moment, then suddenly smiled, his gaze burning as he looked at her. "What? You want to see him?"

Her thoughts exposed, Bai Su had to admire his sharpness. She tried to cover it up, a little embarrassed. "Grandpa, you were the one who asked him to save me last time. I haven’t even had a chance to thank him properly."

Yelias’s lips curled. "You take such good care of me. It was only right that he saved you."

Bai Su really did want to see Yelias.

She needed Yelias to perform her surgery, which meant she first had to resolve his inner trauma and get him to enter an operating room again.

Otherwise, with Bai Xue walking around with her uterus, too many complications could arise over time.

Bai Su snuggled up beside him, a bit shyly. "Oh, Grandpa... just let me meet him."

She deliberately put on a bashful expression.

’Didn’t the old man want to set me up with his grandson before?’

’Otherwise, he wouldn’t have given me the ring.’

’As long as I show a little bit of interest in Yelias, Grandpa will definitely help.’

Sure enough, his gaze burned. "You..."

Bai Su lowered her head, a little shy. "I want to thank him in person."

"Grandpa... Doctor Yelias, is he seeing any females?"

Yelias pressed his lips together and looked down at her. "Why do you ask?"

Bai Su grabbed his arm and shook it. "Oh, Grandpa, just tell me!"

Seeing her bashful, blushing expression, Yelias looked slightly stunned. After a moment, he asked hesitantly, "You... you’ve fallen for him?"

Being asked so directly, Bai Su’s face turned genuinely red this time.

He was an elder, after all, and quite old at that.

She felt a bit awkward. "Ahem... not really?"

"’Not... really?’" Yelias’s voice rose at the end, and his lips curled into a smile. He relaxed his body and began to slowly rock the chair. "My grandson has never been in a relationship. He’s a block of wood who doesn’t understand romance. Falling for him might not end well for you."

Bai Su froze, a look of retreat appearing on her face. "Ah... then what should I do?"

"Maybe I should just for—"

"Ahem..." Yelias cleared his throat, suddenly changing his tune. "However, if you take the initiative, it’s not like he couldn’t be moved."

Bai Su scratched her head. "How would I take the initiative? Oh... Grandpa, what are you even talking about? I just want to thank him for saving me last time and treat him to a meal."

Since she’d already gone this far, she decided to just be direct. "Grandpa, how about you ask him to come up the mountain with you for a meal sometime? I’ll cook for him myself to show my gratitude."

"I just don’t know what he likes to eat, or if he’ll find my cooking to his liking."

Bai Su leaned in closer, nodding, and began to massage the old man’s shoulders and pound his legs to curry favor. "Grandpa, what’s your grandson’s temperament like? Is he easy to get along with? What does he usually like to eat? Is he a neat freak like you?"

Yelias enjoyed her attempts to get close as he replied in a good mood, "He’s an extremely good-tempered person, has a great personality, he’s good at everything. He rarely eats normal food; he mostly mixes his own nutritional supplements. A neat freak... I suppose so. Doctors tend to pay more attention to personal hygiene."

After speaking, he glanced down at Bai Su’s hands on him.

’But since coming here, the bar for my neat-freak tendencies has just gotten lower and lower.’
