Chapter 410: Chapter 410: Green Ranges (2)
" Yes, however the abilities required to upgrade abilities is significantly higher than that needed to upgrade traits."
That didn’t matter to him, he can upgrade abilities too and that all he needed to know. He used soul sense to search for prey.
His soul sense was incredibly wide but it still wasn’t wide enough. He only found a single rank 7 demonic beasts using it.
" I guess that will do." BOOOOOM, the sky shook and a dragon as large as a mountain shot through the sky.
Even with his massive size, the mountains on Green Ranges were too large, he was akin to an ant to them.
The creature he was hunting was a brown deer covered in hard bark with wooden antlers.
The deer was nearly 40 metres tall and its antlers were two metres tall. It walked through the forest like a graceful giant.
The laws of earth and wood radiated off its body like flames in a tundra. The other beasts around did not dare approach it.
Ved saw a pride of lions circling it but stone spears grew beneath them and pierced their stomachs.
The pride leader roared, its mane ignited into red flames and it lunged at the deer but it couldn’t even get close.
Vines grew from the ground and bound its body. It tried to use its flames to burn them to no avail.
The vines were imbued with laws making it impossible for this lion to touch them with it meager power.
It was strangely to death almost instantly. Ved wondered what gave that pride so much confidence.
The deer felt proud after killing the lion pride but then its body froze. It felt a terrifying aura behind it.
As a demonic beast, its survival instincts were very high especially considering where it grew up.
It attacked immediately, giant earth spikes grew from the ground to impose Ved. They glowed with a brown aura.
The laws of earth made those giant mountainous spikes harder than metal itself and as sharp as spears.
Ved did not bother to dodge, they landed on his stomach and broke like soft sand. They couldn’t pierce through his scales at all.
Vines grew and moved like serpents and bound his body. Those vines suddenly gained a new lease in life as soon as touched him.
Green leaves grew on the dead vines and they regained their aura which caught Ved by suprise.
" They’re being effected by law of life, I wonder if I can control them." He tried and failed.
But the deer was in the same situation, the law now infused into those vines shattered its laws of wood like they were nothing.
It was a demonic beast and didn’t fully understand what was happening but it knew things were bad for it.
It made a run for it and it was incredibly fast moving multiple times faster than light, after all it was a level 4 rank 7 beast.
But it was facing the king of beasts himself and he decided to exercise his authority for once.
An illusory crown appeared above his head and his will surged out like a flood. He was significantly stronger than this creature.
Normally, demonic beasts can resist his authority if his orders go against their very basic instincts of self preservation like ordering them to die.
However the difference in their will density and volume was too immense. It tried to resist but failed.
The deer found itself walking towards him on its own then it jumped into his open mouth on its own.
Ved bit it in half and started chewing, it was so small he devoured the entire thing in one bite.
" Yeah, herbivores are more delicious, that still hasn’t changed, but I think I should’ve cooked it, would’ve tasted much better."
Ved flew to the nearest mountain, the demonic beasts there didn’t run away from him.
It was probably because they were too weak to the point they couldn’t even sense his presence.
He created a cave in that mountain and rested inside. High above the clouds in outer orbit.
Anglomesh was looking down on Ved, even though he was millions of light years away he could still Ved clearly like he was merely a few metres away.
" What is he doing, does he not know he doesn’t have much time?" Anglomesh thought Ved had come here to refine his fighting ability.
But seeing him bothering himself with such a weak creature was confusing and worrying.
Anglomesh had descendents, while none had divine bloodline, they still had mythical grade.
So one might wonder why he was so focused on Ved rather than his own descendants.
That was because Ved was the successor of the ancient king and above that, he was what Anglomesh wanted dragons to be.
He had his pride but he didn’t let that pride consume him. This was a trait even the ancient king didn’t have.
Ved is probably the first dragon in history to use martial dao because he’s the first to not think training as beneath him.
Even though they were from different universes, he genuinely wanted Pangera to win just because of Ved.
He was certain if Pangera won,Ved would be amongst those chosen to go into the singularity space of Pangera.
If that happened, from what he had heard would be the second time because much to his surprise.
Ved and that human girl were the ones who started the universal wars, something he would’ve thought impossible for young comprehension realms.
Seeing the two of them together and doing such Impossible things. Anglomesh was certain of one thing.
Fate had a play in their lives and those two, had probably known about this and prepared for it.
Anglomesh sighed, " The waters are too deep, maybe even this old man will drown and strangely, I can’t wait."
He continued watching. Ved sent three avatars out and left one in the cave. He needed to maximise his time.
Each avatar went in their direction to start hunting while one slept in the cave and waited.
The reason he did this was because there was a real possibility of dying in this mountain range.
If something like a sovereign shows up, at least one avatar should be able to escape.
