Chapter 194: Chapter 197: Is It Comfortable Like This?

It was the fourth day since Sonia Quincy had given birth to Wilder Preston, and she was due to be discharged from the hospital tomorrow.

The problem was, she still wasn’t producing much milk.

The doctor said she might just have a naturally low milk supply. If she really couldn’t produce more, she would have to give up on breastfeeding.

"Sonia, does it hurt a lot?" Mrs. Preston took Sandy from her arms, her gaze filled with sympathy.

Sonia adjusted her clothes and frowned, letting out a soft "mm-hmm." "It hurts a lot. The skin’s even broken."

Upon hearing this, Mrs. Preston immediately gave Sandy’s bottom a light swat. "This little stinker is too eager to eat. The moment he latches on, he just sucks with all his might."

"Sigh..." Sonia let out a breath. "Sandy is already sucking so hard, but I still don’t have much milk. It’s not nearly enough for him."

"Don’t worry about it." Mrs. Preston wasn’t concerned in the slightest. "If you don’t have milk, we’ll use formula. As long as he gets enough nutrition and isn’t hungry, it doesn’t matter what he eats."

"That’s right," the doctor chimed in, agreeing with her. "Ms. Quincy has a naturally low milk supply. Forcing breastfeeding when the supply is insufficient can be very damaging to the mother. Besides, for the infant, as long as they receive adequate nutrition, there’s not much difference between breast milk and formula."

Mrs. Preston said, "Since the doctor agrees, let’s just have Sandy give up breast milk. His mother went through enough bringing him into this world; we shouldn’t let her suffer over something like this."

The doctor replied, "As long as you’ve made a decision as a family, the hospital has no objections."

Mrs. Preston smiled. "Okay, then. I’ll go prepare some formula. This little stinker is starting to get fussy from hunger."

Sonia’s private room had a dedicated nursery. Mrs. Preston took Sandy in, and after feeding him the formula, she rocked him to sleep.

The little guy, full and content, was now sleeping soundly in his bassinet. The more Sonia looked at him, the more irritated she became. She couldn’t help but mutter under her breath, "You little brat, wake up and go back to sleep!"

"Sonia?"

Felix Preston pushed the door open and tiptoed inside.

Sonia turned to see him and was suddenly overcome with a sense of grievance. "You’re back."

"I’m back." Felix smiled at her, only noticing her unhappy expression as he drew closer.

"What’s wrong?" He sat down beside Sonia on the edge of the bed and gently caressed her face, his eyes full of concern. "Why the long face? Did someone make you angry?"

"Yes!" Sonia pointed a finger at Sandy in the bassinet, complaining to Felix with a face full of resentment. "Your son made me angry!"

The moment he heard this, Felix first gave Sandy’s bottom a light smack in revenge for Sonia, then turned back to her and asked patiently, "What did Sandy do to upset you?"

Sonia hung her head, a little embarrassed. "The doctor said I have a naturally low milk supply, so I can’t feed Sandy. But he insists on sucking so hard... he even broke the skin."

"Felix, it hurts."

Felix couldn’t stand hearing Sonia say she was in pain.

"Does it hurt here?" He raised a hand, hovering his palm over her chest. He was clearly worried, but he had to be careful for fear of hurting her.

Sonia nodded. "Yes, both sides."

Felix then lifted her shirt, tentatively placing his palm on her waist. "Sonia, my hands are cool. What if I put them inside to soothe the skin? It might not hurt as much."

"Well..." ’How could I possibly agree to that?’

Sonia’s head dipped even lower, the tips of her ears turning bright red.

Felix knew she was just being shy. Not wanting to waste time teasing her, he simply slid his hand all the way under her shirt.

His hand moved upward, pushing aside her bra first, then he used the cool tips of his fingers to gently caress the broken skin, hoping to ease her pain.

"Ngh..." The cool touch against the fiery sting—a startling contrast of ice and fire—made Sonia let out a soft cry.

Felix glanced down at her. Seeing her brows furrowed and eyes squeezed shut in a display of utter bashfulness, he used his other hand to cup her shoulder, pulling her into his embrace.

"Is that a little more comfortable?" Felix’s Adam’s apple bobbed, his voice low and raspy.

"Mmm..." Sonia responded with the faintest sound, but in Felix’s ears, it took on an entirely different meaning.

As his fingertip grew warm, Felix switched to a different one, continuing to apply the cool pressure for her.

Sonia’s body was wound tight. Felix’s hand felt her tension intimately, and a wicked fire began to burn hotter and hotter within him...

"Does it still hurt?"

A few minutes later, Felix straightened Sonia’s undergarments and reluctantly withdrew his hand.

Sonia bit her lip and nodded. "It’s better. Not as painful now."

Felix glanced down at himself. "But... I’m not doing so great."

Sonia asked, "Do you need my help?"

"...No." Felix chuckled, his face flushing. "You just rest. I’ll just be in the bathroom for a little while."

Sonia: "Alright then."

"Good girl." Felix pinched her cheek, then used the hem of his coat to cover his lower abdomen as he walked stiffly into the bathroom.

When he came out a short while later, several more people were in the hospital room.

"This troll army was definitely hired by Cecilia Quincy. Every last one of them acts like they’re programmed to ignore the facts and focus solely on your ’fake heiress’ status."

The more Julia Dawson spoke, the angrier she became, until she finally couldn’t take it anymore and slammed her fist onto the blanket.

Hannah Sutton patted her shoulder, gesturing for her to calm down. "A person like Cecilia Quincy is stubborn to the bitter end. After Bloom took her down so hard, it’s pretty normal for her to hire trolls to manipulate public opinion."

Julia Dawson: "It might be normal, but that doesn’t mean we have to tolerate it. This is a job for Bloom, right?"

"What’s wrong?" Felix walked up behind Julia Dawson, looking at them with a puzzled expression.

"Cecilia Quincy is stirring up trouble again!" Lynn Preston unlocked her phone and shoved it in front of Felix.

"Since early this morning, trolls have been swarming all the major platforms, making a huge deal about our sister-in-law’s ’fake heiress’ identity."

Felix took the phone and saw a screenshot of comments from a social media platform.

User400813: [Do you guys actually believe a word this fake heiress says? Could you be any more naive?]

MoneyLover_Materialist: [Umm, Cecilia Quincy didn’t do anything wrong. That impostor Sonia Quincy stole Cecilia’s place for over twenty years, so Cecilia has every right to hate her. She enjoyed a life of luxury that wasn’t hers, and she should pay the price. Anyway, I totally support Cecilia in destroying Sonia.]

NeitherHere_NorThere: [Sonia Quincy is a fake heiress, so how good can her character possibly be? A counterfeit can never compare to the real thing. Who knows where she got that so-called evidence.]

CollinsHatesCilantro: [In all those "real vs. fake heiress" novels, the fake one is always the most evil! Just think about it, people.]

GoneWithTheWind: [A fake heiress doesn’t just have a fake identity—she has a fake conscience, too. Sonia Quincy’s very status means she can’t possibly be a good person!]
