Chapter 169: Chapter 172: Got Sonia Quincy’s Hair
"..." Sonia Quincy was speechless. "I’m going home."
"Y-You’re going home?" Cecilia Quincy was thrown by her sudden shift in attitude. "I’m not done talking yet!"
Sonia shook her hand off, frowning impatiently. "What else do you want to say?"
"..." Cecilia was stunned into silence by the question.
Sonia had been leading the conversation the entire time. Cecilia had been led by the nose, completely straying from her original point.
Now that Sonia had suddenly asked what else she wanted to say, she actually found herself unable to answer.
Sonia waited patiently for a moment. Seeing her remain silent, she simply turned and started to leave.
"If you’re not going to say anything, I’m going home."
"Hey—"
Cecilia strode forward and blocked Sonia’s path with her arms outstretched.
Sonia looked at her expressionlessly. "Figured out what you want to say?"
Cecilia said, "There’s only one thing I need to say, and that’s to warn you to stay away from my Ethan from now on. Got it?"
"Hmm..." Sonia bit her lip, gave it some serious thought, and then said, "Depends on my mood."
"You... What do you mean, ’depends on your mood’?!" Cecilia was infuriated all over again.
She subconsciously raised her hand to slap Sonia again, but before her palm could fall, it was seized by another, much stronger hand.
"Cecilia Quincy, have you lost your mind?"
Hannah Sutton flung Cecilia’s hand away and forcefully inserted herself between them, shielding Sonia.
Sonia’s eyes widened slightly as she looked at her in surprise. "Hannah?"
Hannah spared a moment to acknowledge her, then went back to staring at Cecilia as if she were a thief.
Cecilia looked her up and down in disbelief, her tone even more furious than when she was facing Sonia.
"What are you doing here? Me teaching Sonia Quincy a lesson has nothing to do with you."
Hannah Sutton shot back, "Sonia Quincy is my friend. Of course it has something to do with me when you bully her!"
"Friend?" The word startled Cecilia. She glanced at Hannah a few times, then her eyes darted to Sonia as she asked with amusement, "When did you become friends with Sonia Quincy? You’re not very picky when it comes to friends, are you?"
"None of your business." Hannah Sutton openly rolled her eyes at Cecilia, her expression one of undisguised disgust and contempt.
"The fact that I’m not friends with you proves I’m very picky. Besides, I think Sonia is great. She looks even better when compared to you."
"You—" Cecilia was so furious she almost blacked out.
Hannah Sutton took Sonia’s hand and turned to leave, tossing a final sentence over her shoulder at Cecilia.
"You... you what? If you’re just going to stutter, you should hurry up and make a hospital appointment. And make sure it’s in the psychiatric ward..."
"Hannah Sutton!!!" Cecilia stomped her foot in rage.
Hannah deliberately swayed her hips a few times, as if trying to make Cecilia drop dead from anger.
"Pfft..." Sonia held it in for a while, but finally couldn’t stop herself from laughing out loud.
Hannah changed direction, pulling her straight into a restaurant to their right. "That psycho. I can’t even be bothered with her!"
"There’s a QR code on the table for ordering. You two can place your order yourselves..."
The waiter led them to their table and simply instructed them to scan the code to order.
Hannah Sutton took out her phone and gave the waiter a dismissive wave. "Got it. You can go attend to other things."
The waiter couldn’t have been happier to oblige and vanished from their sight immediately.
After getting Sonia’s input, Hannah randomly ordered five dishes and then put down her phone.
"Consider this a trial run. When I have time later, I’ll treat you to a proper meal."
"Okay." Sonia smiled and nodded, secretly turning off a recording pen hidden under the table.
Hannah didn’t hide her nosiness, asking outright, "What were you and Cecilia Quincy arguing about? Why was she acting so crazy and trying to hit you?"
"Hmm..." Sonia pursed her lips, pondering for a few seconds before condensing the day’s events into a single sentence.
"Cecilia Quincy saw me talking to Ethan Lockwood and decided I was trying to seduce him, so she came to pick a fight."
"...Psycho," Hannah said, speechless. "Does that stupid woman think Ethan Lockwood is some kind of god’s gift to mankind? That every woman in the world has to pounce on him the moment he appears?"
"Hah..." Sonia just chuckled and said nothing.
The more Hannah thought about it, the more disgusted she became. While waiting for their food, she kept cursing them out in creative ways, finally summing it up with:
"A pair of psychos!"
Sonia didn’t want to hear their names anymore, so she found a different topic to change the subject.
The food arrived quickly. The two of them ate and chatted, and by the time they were done, it was almost three in the afternoon.
But Hannah showed no signs of leaving, so Sonia continued to keep her company.
After she finished badmouthing the people she hated, she started complaining about Mason Shaw’s clueless chauvinism.
Sonia listened with interest, unconsciously twirling a strand of her hair around her finger.
Suddenly, Hannah stared at the top of her head and let out a surprised, "Hey!"
"What is it?" Sonia asked, confused.
Hannah stood up from her chair and reached out, parting her hair a couple of times. "You have a gray hair here. Let me pull it out for you."
"Okay." Sonia wasn’t on her guard. If she wanted to pull it, she could go right ahead.
Hannah raised her hand and fussed with Sonia’s hair. Sonia cooperatively lowered her head, and a moment later felt a slight, sharp sting on her scalp.
"Got it." Hannah sat back down, holding up the hair and waving it quickly in front of Sonia’s eyes.
Sonia didn’t even get a clear look at what part of the hair was gray before Hannah immediately threw it on the floor and said, "I’m going to the restroom. Wait for me."
Sonia nodded. "Okay, go ahead."
Hannah grabbed her bag from the chair and walked briskly toward the restroom.
It was a weekday, so there weren’t many customers in the restaurant, and the restroom was completely empty.
Hannah walked into the restroom, but instead of going into a stall, she stood directly in front of the sinks.
She placed her bag on the counter, raised the hair she was clutching tightly in her hand, and examined it under the light.
The hair was completely black, a perfect match for Sonia’s in both length and color.
Hannah opened her bag with one hand, took out a small plastic baggie, and carefully placed the hair inside.
"Phew..." Her objective achieved, she couldn’t help but let out a sigh of relief.
She then took out her phone, snapped a picture of the baggie, and sent it to Mason Shaw.
—Honey, I got Mr. Quincy’s hair.
Mason Shaw replied instantly: I just cut Dad’s nails. I got the clippings.
Hannah Sutton: I’ve already scheduled the paternity test. We’ll go to the center first thing tomorrow morning.
