Chapter 168: Chapter 171: Cecilia Quincy Was Terribly Set Up
SLAP!
Cecilia Quincy strode over and, without a second word, slapped Sonia Quincy across the face!
She put all her strength into it, and the force of the blow left half of Sonia Quincy’s face numb.
Sonia Quincy clutched her stomach and staggered a few steps. Before she could even react, Cecilia Quincy’s curses rained down on her.
"Sonia Quincy, you fucking slut, have you no shame? You’re already that pregnant, yet you still have the gall to come here and seduce Ethan! What, are you trying to get Ethan to clean up your mess and raise another man’s baby?"
"..." Sonia Quincy said nothing.
She raised a hand to her cheek, looking at Cecilia Quincy with a timid expression, her eyes full of hurt and fear.
That look only provoked Cecilia Quincy further, her usually sweet and lovely face twisting in an instant.
"Sonia Quincy, you’re so shameless and disgusting! Do you think you’re still the brilliant, dazzling star of the Quincy family? Do you think if you just keep pestering Ethan, he’ll give you the time of day?"
"In your dreams!"
"A filthy, rotten fake like you isn’t even worthy of shining Ethan’s shoes! Besides, he and I are getting engaged. Even if you use every trick in the book to seduce him, he won’t give you a second glance!"
"Mm-hmm," Sonia Quincy nodded, putting on an expression of someone who was listening attentively to a lesson.
Seeing her act like this only infuriated Cecilia Quincy more, and she couldn’t stop herself from continuing her tirade. "Sonia Quincy, have some goddamn shame. Take a look at what a filthy mess you are. How dare you show your face in front of Ethan? He is my fiancé now! Stop pushing my buttons over and over again!"
"Ethan Lockwood is your fiancé..." Sonia Quincy lowered her hand and pouted slightly, feigning a look of pure innocence. "So?"
Cecilia Quincy’s eyes widened as she glared. "So you can’t seduce him! A woman who goes after a taken man is a mistress. If you’re shameless enough to do that, then I’ll just have to add ’homewrecker’ to your résumé of sleeping with male prostitutes!"
"Mistress..." The title piqued Sonia Quincy’s interest. She raised an eyebrow, and a moment later, she suddenly smiled.
"Cecilia Quincy, so you do know that kind of behavior makes someone a mistress? When you meddled in my relationship with Ethan Lockwood back then, did you ever realize that you were a mistress, too?"
"You..." Cecilia Quincy was left speechless, her confidence instantly deflating.
"Sigh..." Sonia Quincy let out a theatrical sigh. "Cecilia Quincy, has it been so long that you’ve forgotten how you treated me? I’m just giving you a taste of your own medicine now, treating you the same way you treated me. Why are you so angry?"
"I..." Cecilia Quincy’s gaze suddenly started to shift, and her words became inexplicably stuttered. "H-How did I treat you? Don’t you dare make baseless accusations!"
Sonia Quincy asked, "Are you trying to deny it now?"
"..." Cecilia Quincy tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and said nothing.
A malicious smile played on Sonia Quincy’s lips. "It’s fine if you don’t want to admit it. I can help you remember."
"When you first came back to the Quincy family, Ethan Lockwood and I were also about to get engaged. But you couldn’t keep your hands to yourself. On the eve of our engagement, you suddenly got together with him."
"I caught the two of you red-handed coming out of a private cinema. Remember that?"
"...What do you mean, ’caught red-handed’?" Cecilia Quincy refused to admit it. "You and Ethan had already broken up by then! He and I were in a proper relationship."
"A proper relationship, my ass!" Sonia Quincy cursed bluntly. "The day you two went to that private cinema was October 18th. On October 17th, the day before, Ethan Lockwood and I had just celebrated our anniversary. Did I break up with him in your dreams?"
"I..." Cecilia Quincy was left without an excuse.
Sonia Quincy took a step forward, glaring fiercely into her eyes. "If I remember correctly, on October 17th, you even congratulated me. You wished Ethan Lockwood and me a hundred years of happiness, and you even ate the cake he bought for me. I still have the photos on my phone. Should I pull them up for you to see?"
"I..." Sonia Quincy’s aura was too powerful. Cecilia Quincy couldn’t take it and subconsciously took a step back.
"H-Have you ever heard the saying?" She had initially wanted to argue, but then she figured since it was just the two of them, there was really no need to come up with excuses. So she dropped the pretense.
Sonia Quincy asked, "What saying?"
Cecilia Quincy held her head high, trying her best to look smug.
"’In love, the one who isn’t loved is the real mistress’! Love isn’t about who came first; it’s about who is loved and who isn’t. Obviously, you’re the one who isn’t loved, so my actions don’t make me a mistress at all. I was just fighting for my own love."
"Oh..." Sonia Quincy nodded with exaggerated gravity, as if she had just been taught a valuable lesson.
"So you admit it. You did interfere in my relationship with Ethan Lockwood back then, didn’t you?"
Cecilia Quincy gave a helpless shrug. "When did I ever deny it?"
Sonia Quincy said, "Good. Since you’ve admitted to that, can I get an explanation from you about something else?"
"An explanation?" The word made Cecilia Quincy laugh. She crossed her arms, sizing Sonia Quincy up with a look of utter disdain. "What kind of explanation could a fake like you possibly demand from me?"
Sonia Quincy raised a hand to her face, drawing Cecilia Quincy’s attention to the red mark from the slap she had just delivered.
The mark was red and swollen. Just looking at it filled Cecilia Quincy with satisfaction, which only deepened her contempt for Sonia Quincy.
Sonia Quincy lowered her gaze and softened her tone, giving Cecilia Quincy the impression that she was weak and cowardly.
"Back when I was still living with the Quincy family, you went and tattled to Fiona Dalton, saying I deliberately pushed you down the stairs and locked you in the dark room. But I never did any of those things! You framed me!"
"So?" Cecilia Quincy asked dismissively.
Sonia Quincy frowned. "So why did you do it? After you came home, I never did anything to you. Why couldn’t you stand to have me around?"
"Hah," Cecilia Quincy sneered, rolling her eyes. "Why should I have tolerated you? You were always a fake. You never should have been in the Quincy family in the first place. Isn’t it perfectly normal that I wanted you to get lost?"
Sonia Quincy took a deep breath, a sudden catch in her voice. "So that’s how it was... You didn’t want me in the Quincy family, so you deliberately made up all those lies to frame me, to get me thrown out!"
Cecilia Quincy replied, "If you say so..."
"Good." Sonia Quincy’s response was sharp and immediate. The look of hurt and indignation on her face vanished in an instant.
"Since you’ve admitted it, I’ll be leaving now."
Her expression changed as quickly as flipping a page. In the blink of an eye, she was a completely different person from a moment ago.
She tossed the words out nonchalantly and moved to walk past Cecilia Quincy.
Cecilia Quincy blinked in confusion, then hurriedly turned and grabbed Sonia Quincy’s arm.
"Where are you going?"
