"The house was a gift from Beidou’s father—a wedding present, he said. Shen Yi’s household registration is tied to the courtyard house. Yours was transferred over, but it’s only a temporary registration. It would be better to have it formally attached to a property."
When the registrations were first transferred, Su Yun’s and Xiao Shi’s were processed, but Qin Zhonghui’s was still in their hometown because he had a house there.
If his household registration were transferred, the house would have to be dealt with.
Su Yun and Qin Zhonghui had discussed selling the house for cheap, since it was just an old residential plot. But Qin Jiao knew their hometown would undergo a major relocation project later on.

Hearing this, Su Yun was stunned. "Xiao Yi is letting us all transfer our registrations there? That doesn’t seem right!"
"I’d thought about buying a house before, but after looking into it, the prices here are a little high. It would probably take us a year or two to afford one.
