Chapter 366: Chapter 366: Newlyweds, Don’t Want to Be Apart

Qin Jiao had some recollection of the Geng siblings. After all, they were the only family with that surname in their village.

Qin Jiao recalled that in her past life, after she had already followed Shen Yi to North City, she heard her mother share some gossip from their hometown. The subjects of that gossip were none other than these Geng siblings from their village.

The two weren’t biological siblings. Because the Geng family had been unable to have children, they adopted a girl from elsewhere and named her Zhaodi. As it turned out, a year later, she really did "beckon a little brother"!

The two grew up together and were exceptionally close. Later, after learning they weren’t biological siblings, they developed romantic feelings for each other. Zhaodi became pregnant, but their parents vehemently disapproved of their relationship and forced her to have an abortion. The two remained deeply in love and refused any matchmaking attempts. Because Geng Kang’an had a job in the county seat, their parents looked down on Geng Zhaodi even more. They always wanted Geng Kang’an to marry a girl from the city. Before they knew it, both of them were nearly thirty.

’Geng Zhaodi and her brother, Geng Ankang, were so in love. How could she possibly sleep with a divorced man like Qin Jiqun so easily?’

’No matter how you looked at it, something was fishy.’

Of course, Qin Jiao didn’t say any of this out loud. ’After all, there was no way she would ever get involved in another marriage swap for them. Let the Geng family deal with Mr. Qin and the others!’

Meanwhile, Qin Zhonghui was also furious. He told Su Yun, "I’m not going back for the New Year anymore. I’ll just transfer the annual allowance to my older brother and have him pass it along!"

Qin Zhonghui wouldn’t have been this angry if his parents had been scheming against him.

But to scheme against their Xiao Jiao, just to find another wife for his third brother? That was enough to make Qin Zhonghui truly lose his temper. He was a man of his word; if he said he wasn’t going back, he meant it.

For the next few days, Qin Zhonghui and his brother-in-law, Sun Jianhua, stayed at the clothing factory and didn’t come home. Meanwhile, Shen Yi and Chen Sheng made the rounds at a few department stores and managed to sell some of their stock.

It was a very small amount, but the good news was that Shen Yi had managed to persuade a dozen or so employees. They were now modifying the clothes according to Du Liya’s instructions.

Once the samples of the altered clothing were ready, Shen Yi and Chen Sheng would have to take a trip to the South.

Since he was leaving to do business, Qin Jiao specially went out and bought Shen Yi a Zhongshan suit and a Western-style suit. Paired with heavy leather shoes, he instantly looked much more mature and composed.

Shen Yi sighed. "I really don’t want to leave. We’re still newlyweds, and now we have to be apart. Jiao Jiao, what will I do when I miss you?"

Qin Jiao shot him a look, speechless. "Alright, stop being so dramatic. This trip is incredibly important. If you can break into the southern market, our clothing factory will have fired its first successful shot!"

"Jiao Jiao, is there anything you want? I’ll bring it back for you! A lot of new things are already being sold in State City now!"

"Anything is fine. Just buy whatever you think is nice."

Watching Qin Jiao pack for him, Shen Yi truly didn’t want to go. But he also knew he couldn’t be that stay-at-home young master throwing tantrums all day anymore. He had to work hard and earn money to support his wife and future children, as well as honor his grandfather, mother, and parents-in-law.

Shen Yi grunted in agreement, then asked worriedly, "By the way, that business with your family back home... it’s not still affecting you, is it?"

Shen Yi had just heard that Mr. Qin and the others had actually planned to use Jiao Jiao in a marriage swap. He had been so furious he almost wanted to kill someone. It was a good thing they were so far away.

Elders were supposed to be respected, but he had come to understand that those elders from the Qin family’s hometown were truly not worthy of it.

Qin Jiao said, "It’s fine. We live so far away, what can they possibly do?"

Qin Jiao was right. After hearing that she had married a rich man in North City, Mr. Qin and the others didn’t dare to scheme against her anymore. Besides, her father’s entire family was in North City now. As the saying goes, the mountains are high and the emperor is far away.

So, they turned their scheming to the family of the eldest son, Qin Bogang, instead.
