The old man sat in silence for a moment, his gnarled hands resting on his knees. His eyes held a deep wisdom as he nodded solemnly. "Indeed, it is rare but not unheard of."

Liang’s mind raced, trying to comprehend the implications of this revelation. Cultivating multiple systems concurrently was an extraordinary feat, one that granted immense power and versatility. If Mi Ling had indeed achieved such cultivation, she would be a force to be reckoned with, a formidable opponent they had to face.

"She most likely possesses a technique similar to ours," Liang said gloomily.

The old man chuckled softly, a hint of self-mockery in his voice. "But much more powerful, right?"

"But still, this doesn’t explain your loss,"

He couldn’t let go of the burning question that plagued his mind - how had Mi Ling managed to discover Kai’s true identity?

Kai took a deep breath, his chest rising and falling with a sense of weariness. He ran a hand through his graying hair before meeting Liang’s gaze with a somber expression. "She most likely possesses a powerful divination skill, If not then.."

In that moment, the two men’s eyes met, a glimmer of understanding passing between them.

"Special Physique," they said simultaneously, their voices blending into one.

A moment of silence followed their shared realization. They both understood that unraveling the true extent of Mi Ling’s divination abilities was paramount to devising a successful plan.

Liang’s voice broke the stillness, "We need to know the depth of her divination powers,"

"cultivation realm, soul power..., It’s hard to say." Frustration creased Kai’s face as he shook his head. "I wasn’t able to discern her true cultivation level."

"If that’s the case, then we need to change our plan," Liang smiled bitterly, They couldn’t afford to rely on assumptions or incomplete information. They needed to adjust their strategies to confront this unknown variable head-on.

Kai nodded in agreement, "That’s the least thing we can do."

Liang let out a heavy sigh. "Our previous plan was simple, We would hide and utilize the Ethereal Pathway of Soulful Unity to gain the power of four seventh-order realm experts."

"And with Senior Xuan and his people by our side," Liang added, "We would wait for the opportune moment and strike."

Kai chuckled softly, a weary smile forming on his face. "But now, we need to devise a new plan," he said, a glimmer of resilience shining in his eyes. "One that mirrors the tactics we employed against the five devil kings in the past."

"Indeed, it appears to be the case," Liang concurred.

The devil war that raged on the Spiritdrift world hundreds of years ago was not solely aimed at the major powers and Liang’s reincarnation. There was a deeper, more significant purpose underlying the conflict.

Situated within the middle ring, each of the five devil kings ruled over their own planet. Their cultivation levels were hovering around the early stages of the Divine Integration Realm. Making them suitable targets for Kai’s ambitions.

As for Kai himself, he stood at the precipice of the half-step Divine Integration Realm, yearning to advance further. To accomplish this, he required a vast reservoir of sin qi and powerful experts to consume and absorb their strength.

Thus, the fateful decision was made to target these five devil kings. Kai embarked on a daring infiltration of their respective planets, carefully presenting the idea of invasion to them.

In a clandestine fashion, he discreetly marked the most influential generals among the five devil kings, those who would be responsible for the greatest number of deaths with sin marks.

It was at this juncture that Liang entered the picture.

When their souls were forcefully summoned back, the five devil kings experienced a surge of vulnerability, weakened by the backlash of the summoning. Seizing this opportune moment, Kai launched separate attacks against each of them, culminating in their ultimate demise. Their defeated souls were then consumed by Kai, adding to his formidable power.

One by one, the devil kings fell, their once indomitable spirits vanquished and devoured. As Kai absorbed their essence, their powers merged with his own, causing his energy to surge and his cultivation to soar towards new heights.

In the aftermath of the battles, there was a newfound fear that pervaded the outer edges of the middle ring. The news of the five’ demise spread like wildfire, instilling both dread and awe in the hearts of those who heard it. Kai’s strength had grown exponentially, and whispers of his unstoppable rise echoed through the middle ring.

Liang’s chuckle carried a hint of weariness, "The thing is, both of us would need to cultivate again."

Curiosity flickered in Kai’s eyes as he raised an eyebrow. "Why is that? What happened to your cultivation?"

Liang’s head shook slightly, a sorrowful expression crossing his features. "It’s a long story,"

A soft chuckle escaped Kai’s lips, filled with understanding and empathy. "I see. After utilizing the Sin Resurrection, I too would require a significant amount of time to return to the late stage of the Divine Integration Realm,"

Liang nodded, his expression serious and contemplative. "You should consider changing your cultivation technique."

Kai’s eyebrows furrowed, a mix of surprise and suspicion on his face. "Why would I do that? The Origin Soul Art has been the pinnacle of soul cultivation for me. Many may know it, but it is undoubtedly the best path to achieve the origin."

A sneer curved Liang’s lips, a hint of cynicism coloring his voice. "Origin, huh?"

Kai arched an eyebrow, a flicker of curiosity gleaming in his eyes. "What’s so bad about the origin?"

"The Origin system is renowned for its cultivation speed, far surpassing the traditional dao system."

Liang shook his head slowly. His eyes held a glint of wisdom as he sent a piercing ray of light into Kai’s eyes.

Receiving the ray of light, Kai closed his eyes. "Unholy Soul Refining Scripture," he murmured.

Liang nodded in agreement, a knowing smile playing on his lips. "Indeed. I believe that technique would suit you far better."

Kai nodded in gratitude. "Yes, but it will require significant modifications to align with the origin,"

A chuckle escaped Liang’s lips,"Then you should begin."

Kai’s frown deepened, his gaze fixed on Liang’s form. "Before we delve any further, why don’t you return to your human form? It would allow us to communicate more clearly."

A solemn expression replaced Liang’s features as he shook his head. "I can’t. Not until I reach the Nascent Soul Realm."

Confusion furrowed Kai’s brow as he raised an eyebrow. "But why? Shouldn’t your purer bloodline enable you to transform back into a human immediately?"

A wistful smile tugged at Liang’s lips, a hint of sorrow in his eyes. "In normal circumstances, that might be true. However, things are different for me now. My bloodline has evolved beyond purity and has returned to its origin."

"Well, then how about you return my mirror back," Kai said, his tone firm and demanding.

Without waiting for Kai to finish his words, the black mirror materialized in front of him immediately, appearing like an ethereal manifestation.

Kai nodded appreciatively as he reached out to take the mirror. The surface of the mirror felt cool and smooth to the touch, sending a slight shiver down his spine. With a gentle swipe of his finger across the mirror, a space ring emerged instantly.

Carefully, Kai slid the space ring onto his finger, feeling its weight settle comfortably on his hand.

With a swift motion, Kai retrieved two lifeless corpses from the space ring. It was none other than Xue Ren and Li Yen, their faces frozen in an eternal silence.

Kai didn’t just collect these corpses for no reason, On the contrary it was a very calculated and planned move.

Sensing an opportunity, Liang’s eyes lit up with thoughtful curiosity as he observed Kai’s actions.

Ignoring Liang, Kai then retrieved the three sin devil that he had transformed earlier on the diminutive planet.

Almost at the same time, Liang conjured countless void chains that wrapped tightly around the three devil kings, rendering them immobile. Each chain seemed to send shivers down their ethereal forms, trapping them in a web of confinement.

Taking a deep breath, Kai’s expression turned resolute. With a determined wave of his hand, the sin devil kings dissolved into a dark crimson mist, their essence seeping into the air. The mist swirled ominously, seemingly alive with an undulating energy.

Kai’s gaze then fell upon the two lifeless bodies. Without hesitation, he waved his hand once more, causing the mist to enshroud and encompass the corpses. Almost instantly, the bodies disintegrated into countless black particles, seamlessly merging with the mist and adding to its growing size.

A weary smile tugged at Kai’s lips as he stepped forward, his body disappearing into the mist with a sudden burst of ethereal energy. In an instant, he became one with the mist, his physical form disintegrating into the darkness.
