Chapter 16: Chapter 16: Popcorn?

Everyone including Liora looked up too see, that who was causing trouble in the early morning.

Just by the tone of the female, everyone could that she was here to cause trouble.

"Chen Ruolin", Zhou Yinuo expression turned angry and she gritted her teeth as she said aloud her name.

Zhou Yinuo walked at the front, completely hiding Liora behind her.

"what do you want, Chen Ruolin, did the young master through you out of the house. so you came causing trouble here. Zhou Yinuo said with a smirk on her face, her voice full of taunting.

"You bitch, i will tear your mouth apart." Chen Ruolin said with a hideous expression, she was almost ready to lunged on Zhou Yinuo If not her friend Wang Xueyi had grabbed her.

The tension in the administrative hall grew thicker as Chen Ruolin's group stood across from Liora and her companions. Zhou Yinuo glared sharply at Chen Ruolin. Her fists were clenched at her sides. She looked ready to lash out at the slightest provocation.

Chen Ruoline got a look from her friend and she realized, it s not best to at first or all her efforts from the driving this bitch out of the base will be futile. So she changed her tactics.

Chen Ruolin sneered with mockery. Her voice dripped with disdain. "Look at this pathetic group," she said. Her gaze moved over them and paused on their worn-out clothes and tired faces. "Didn't you have enough points to buy a decent meal? Or maybe you're saving up for scraps next week?"

Her group laughed loudly. Their jeers resonated through the hall.

Chen Ruolin was making a joke of Zhou Yinuo in front of everyone, but inside she was seething with anger as to how this bitch could still look good without water and food.

"Shut your mouth," Zhou Yinuo snapped. Her voice was low but fierce. "At least we earn what we have. Unlike some people who cling to others for survival."

Chen Ruolin smirked wider. "Oh, please. Don't pretend to have dignity, Zhou Yinuo. Everyone here knows you're barely scraping by. Maybe if you beg, I'll toss you some leftovers."

Liang Zihan took a step forward. His expression was dark. "Say that again, I dare you—"

Chen Wei was faster. He grabbed Liang Zihan's arm and held him back. "Don't," Chen Wei said firmly. His voice was calm but commanding. "That's exactly what they want."

Liang Zihan hesitated. His fists trembled with suppressed rage. He knew Chen Wei was right. If they started a fight here, they would risk being kicked out of the base.

Chen Ruolin's eyes glinted with satisfaction. She crossed her arms smugly. "Good boy," she taunted. "Listen to your friend. You wouldn't want to embarrass yourselves any more than you already have."

Now everybody was watching them; they had successfully gained the attention of passersby. But for Zhou Yinuo, it was not something good; she did not want to gain attention or attract any trouble.

"You're nothing but a pathetic leech, Zhou Yinuo!" Chen Ruolin spat. Her voice was shrill with anger. "You strut around here as if you're someone important. But everyone knows you're just trash from Haoxing University!"

"Oh, that's rich coming from you," Zhou Yinuo shot back. Her arms were crossed. Her tone was biting. "The only thing you're good at is clinging to others for status. Isn't that how you got into Long Ze University? Sleeping your way in?"

Gasps came from the onlookers. Chen Ruolin's face turned red with fury.

"You bitch! Say that again!" she screamed. She stepped forward with her fists clenched.

"I'll say it louder for everyone to hear!" Zhou Yinuo replied. She was unfazed. "Your whole reputation is a lie, Chen Ruolin. Without your sugar daddies, you'd be nothing!"

Chen Ruolin lunged at her. Wang Xueyi held her back. "Don't waste your energy on her," she hissed. Even she looked embarrassed.

"Waste my energy?!" Chen Ruolin shouted. She struggled against Wang Xueyi's grip. "I'll rip her hair out!"

Zhou Yinuo smirked. She took a step closer. "You're welcome to try. But be careful. Those extensions of yours might fall off before you get close to me."

The crowd murmured in anticipation. Their eyes were glued to the escalating quarrel.

"You arrogant little—"

Chen Ruolin's shriek was interrupted. Zhou Yinuo mimicked her in an exaggerated tone. "Oh, you arrogant little—blah, blah, blah. Do you even hear yourself? Your voice is like nails on a chalkboard."

"That's it!" Chen Ruolin screamed. She broke free from Wang Xueyi and charged forward.

Zhou Yinuo didn't back down. She grabbed a clipboard off the counter. She held it like a shield. "Come on, then! Let's see if you can actually back up all that barking!"

In the corner of the hall, Liora leaned against the wall. A faint smile curved on her lips. She watched the chaos unfold. The exchange grew louder and more ridiculous by the second. She couldn't help but find it entertaining.

Her amusement was cut short. A bucket of something warm and buttery was thrust in front of her. She blinked in surprise. She turned to see a man standing next to her.

He looked to be in his early twenties, with striking white hair that contrasted against the dim, dusty light of the hall. His sharp features were captivating—angular and refined, almost too perfect to belong to the chaos of this world.

Most of his face was partially obscured by dark sunglasses, which made him appear both mysterious and oddly approachable.

The man was dressed simply but stylishly, his dark, form-fitting clothes highlighting his lean build. His relaxed posture and easy smirk gave off an air of effortless confidence, like someone completely at ease no matter the situation.

"Popcorn?" he said. He tilted the bucket toward her.

Liora plucked a piece and popped it into her mouth. The taste of butter and salt exploded on her tongue. Her expression lit up.

"What is this?" she asked.
