They peered through the open door and saw that the car was empty.

’So it’s just this one woman in the car?’

The men exchanged a look, their expressions a mixture of suspicion and disbelief.

They didn’t let their guard down.

’Could it be a trap?’

Besides, if a lone woman was traveling with just a child out here, it was more likely a sign of something far from simple. It meant this woman... was extremely powerful!
