Chapter 121: The First Law
Max realized he didn’t need to recruit others to fully utilize the facilities in his residence.
Just him and the Radiant Knights alone could elevate their comprehension on their specific areas with the help of the facilities.
To fully confirm his suspicions, he explored with much enthusiasm.
After the training courtyard was a Consecrated Prayer Chamber, a bit isolated from the rest.
When Max entered, he couldn’t even perceive the noise from the outside.
It was solemn and quiet.
Max swept his gaze around and saw a central altar, with the same statue in the Chapel of Sustenance.
In his past life, as he was a mage, his knowledge about the statue was only on the surface level.
The Church’s followed the class of the same statue, provided to them. The statue not only sacrificed his life but also opened a class sequence to his followers.
Max’s glanced at the statue and pondered.
He sacrificed his life to save the humanity. As far as I remember, he was already at SSS-Rank, but still ended up sacrificing himself.
Though he was in the support class, it really showed how fragile humans are against the threat of the other races.
Max pondered solemnly.
The Church followed the SSS-Class sequence of the Godhand of Salvation. It was by far the easiest path for the players.
As long as they proved their devotion to the statue, the Church would grant them class advancement.
That was why in Max’s past life, another religion was established in the real world coming from the game.
The Catholic Church didn’t try to intervene, though some of the priest condemned their act.
Since there was similarities in the Catholic and the Holy Salvation Church, the religion wars didn’t escalate.
The Catholic treated the Holy Salvation Church as conviction that by far similar to their Messiah.
Max stood in the main aisle. The chamber was built modest, not intending to be grand. It was not opened for the public, after all.
There were meditation benches on each of his side, enough to accommodate fifteen individuals at once.
There were sacred iconography placed in the wall, showing the different image of the statue.
Max swept his gaze around them until his eyes eventually landed at the central altar in front of him.
There was no chair in the altar, but a blessed incense burner was placed below the statue.
After Max’s finished observing, he smiled.
Although this place might influence Amelia to be converted, I feel like this can be serve as personal reflection, spiritual reflection, and comprehending rites of purification for her.
Max smiled and summoned Amelia.
When Amelia appeared, she was closing her eyes and was about to bow at Max when she perceived a rich mana of divinity.
She hastily bowed and opened her eyes. She was awestruck by the consecrated chapel.
It wasn’t because she was devoted to the Church Holy Salvation’s Messiah, but the mere aura radiated from the statue and the sacred iconography painted into the wall could surprisingly boost her comprehension level and multiplied the effectiveness of increasing her proficiency skills.
While lost in sweeping her gaze around, Max glanced at her head that remained to bow at him but hadn’t greeted him yet.
He shook his head and said, "From now on, this place will be your training ground. Don’t forget that I’m your Master—your devotion must solely be on me alone."
Amelia hastily straightened her back and replied in an anxious tone, "You are my creator, my savior, and my master. No one shall be above you."
Max’s eyes widened.
He summoned Amelia in the chamber to confirm whether she’d show sentiment to the statue.
He wouldn’t be surprised if Amelia held deep attachment to the Church Holy Salvation’s Messiah if in her past life, she was a member of the church.
Max could perceive her emotion and thinking, and he was assured by her reply.
He grinned. "What you said will be the first law."
Amelia’s words only gave him idea on establishing his own laws for his Radiant Knights.
They might be bounded to him by soul, but the moment they possessed consciousness, the chances of them betraying him was not zero.
He must eliminate any chances possible.
He recalled Amelia to his conclave network and left the consecrated chamber.
He explored the other places, such as the living quarters and the servant’s wing.
The living quarters was a residential wing, containing the master bedroom, guest bedrooms, dining room, kitchen, bathing chamber, a study, and a balcony overlooking the gardens.
The servant’s wings, on the other hand, was a residence that includes accommodations for a small permanent staff provided by the Imperial Administration.
He remembered that Andrew reminded him of the servants provided by the Imperial Administration.
However, Max decisively denied them no matter how Andrew tried to convince, as far as assuring him that the servants valued privacy and definitely wouldn’t keep watch of his movement.
Max was a man of secret, he didn’t want others to know.
In the end, Andrew conceded.
Max already had servants to be employed, to begin with. He didn’t want them no matter how assuring the servants provided by the Imperial Administration.
After Max finished exploring his new residence inside the game, he was now standing on the railing on the balcony.
His expression was serene and his hair and mantle billowed from the breeze.
The atmosphere and ambience were tranquilizing, the air was fresh and invigorating.
Max really liked where he was at now.
But there was one major complain he has in his new residence.
Why is there no training grounds for mage?
His mood sunken.
He emptied his mind, allowing himself to relax.
An hour later, a realization struck him out of the blue.
Consecrated chamber... meditation benches... training courtyard... library...
He let out a chuckle.
I can make use of them to train myself.
Max had meditated after acquiring the Radiant Conclave’s class.
He realized that he had two mana inside his body—both having closer affinity with each other.
The first was his Arcane Caster skills were converted to light mana.
While the other mana was produced by the SSS-Class itself.
He called it Radiant Mana...
