The girl snatched the food and was about to devour it when Aiden stopped her. The girl looked confused until he moved his finger in a circle, gesturing for her to turn around.

"You should share the joy with others. They cannot eat it, but you can at least show them the delicacy they are missing."

Nathan's sister did not dare to say no. She had learned her lesson after being stripped naked. Besides, they had already seen her, what difference did it make to her if they saw her eating food or not?

So she turned her body to face the entire group. Everyone could see her, but none of them looked at her body. All of their gazes were fixed on her hands.

She tore open the first packet that had jerky in it. Just the sound of the packet being torn open made their mouths water. Aiden heard their rumbling stomachs when the smell of meat spread in the room.

Nathan's sister took a bite and then chewed it loudly on purpose. She knew her brother wanted her to do it, and she was hoping to get more food for her obedience afterwards.

That's why she made sure to eat slowly so everyone could see and hear the jerky being chewed through. The sight of her eating made their stomachs hurt more.

As for Nathan's sister, she had never eaten like the jerky before. It felt like the more she ate, the more she wanted to keep eating.

It wasn't just that. She had always been kind to strangers, as her mother taught her it was the only way to control others. However, now that she saw the jealous and angry eyes on her, she felt strangely happy.

What good does acting decent get you? In the end, wasn't it because her brother was strong and she had treated him badly that she was getting food?

As for the survivors who had not eaten for two days, watching her eat and the small dump of food by Nathan's side was pure torture.

Some held their stomachs and made painful sounds. Others started crying without control. Their bodies were breaking from hunger. Naturally, they all had to find a scapegoat for their misery.

That's when their eyes turned to Zayn.

If it wasn't for his jealousy towards Nathan, he would have awakened as an Evolver while they were on his good side. Wouldn't he have shared his food with them then?

It was all because of Zayn that they were in such a miserable situation. The looks were no longer respectful. They were full of anger, like they saw him as the enemy who stopped them from eating.

Aiden leaned back in his chair. He looked very relaxed. His fingers tapped the handle of the kukri as he noticed the changing expressions of the people in front of him.

Now that they had developed a logic of their own, Aiden just needed to guide them in the right direction.

"See? If I say I will give food, I really do it," he said, playing with the kukri. "My words are worth something, unlike some fools who think they rule the world but can't even provide food for their followers."

Despite Aiden's words, the room stayed quiet except for the loud chewing sounds from Nathan's sister.

After having her fill of the jerky, she unscrewed the bottle cap and drank water too, making big gulps that everyone could hear, which made them gulp down air as their mouths had long since stopped producing saliva.

A few more girls looked like they wanted to kneel again, but they remembered Aiden's words and stayed standing. They did not want to make him angry.

More people in the crowd started to frown and turn towards Zayn. Their hunger was too strong to resist Aiden's influencing words. Zayn tried to use his charm on the few around them, but now that their hunger had amplified, it was the only thing they cared about.

Zayn stood there, staring back at the rapidly growing, hostile crowd. He clenched his hands into fists. He knew the group was turning against him. No, they had already turned against him.

What little power he had was destroyed by Aiden. His control over the people was slipping away. Fear and hate filled his eyes as he stared at Nathan.

Aiden smiled and even waved back at him before turning to address the crowd again.

"You know, we were taught since childhood that if you have done something wrong, you must apologize sincerely and atone for it," Aiden said, smiling at Zayn.

He continued, "What will it be, Zayn? Your choice. Either you crawl to me and beg for forgiveness, or watch my ugly sister eat everything without sparing a single crumb for you."

At his words, Nathan's sister's eyes began to shine as she sized up the small hill of food. She didn't even mind that he called her ugly. He could beat the shit out of her as long as he gave her more food.

In simple words, she had already lost her rational mind.

Unlike her, everyone else in the room turned frantic. There was so much food! How could they let just one person take it all?

The tension in the room grew thicker as they wondered if they should all just lunge at the food and take it away.

Only for Nathan to casually swing his kukri to remind them of their place. After all, the Nathan before them wasn't the weak boy they once exiled. He was an Evolver now.

The only way to get food was to please him, and he had already stated what would please him. As if to make his point drive home, Aiden pointed at Zayn and then at the floor in front of his feet.

"As long as Zayn kneels and begs for my forgiveness, I will distribute all of this food to you. I can even get more food and give it all to you."

He continued while shrugging, "Then again, Zayn is a proud man. I don't think he would ever beg for someone's forgiveness. Not even when all your lives depended on it."
