Chapter 240: Countdown

"Brothers, do the super tsunamis and major earthquakes mean that the end of the world is here?!"

"Haha, we were already in the midst of the apocalypse, with zombies everywhere. This earthquake and tsunami outbreak only proves that this world has become even more terrifying than the apocalypse!"

"Wow! Did you guys experience a major earthquake there?"

"Yes, I’m a survivor from City 17, and we had an earthquake here. But our situation might be better; only some buildings collapsed. I heard that in most cities, almost everything is in ruins. Unbelievable!"

"That’s true, we’re survivors from City 36, and during the recent earthquake, all our buildings collapsed. Many zombies and survivors are buried under the rubble!"

"Sigh, this is the darkest day for us survivors!"

"Yeah!"

In an instant, the chat channel exploded with messages. Many people shared scenes from after the earthquake, depicting widespread devastation and ruins. Looking at these images and videos, almost everyone felt a deeply oppressive atmosphere filled with fear and dread.

During this time, the renowned livestreamer Binder also initiated a live broadcast. In the video, Binder appeared disheveled, with a look of fear still on his face, and he had several injuries.

Binder spoke frankly, saying, "Brothers, just like you, I just experienced a scene that I will never forget in my entire life! If I hadn’t run fast, you might not have seen me now. I would either have been buried under the rubble and turned into a corpse in ten days or two weeks, or I’d be dead right now. However, I consider myself very lucky because I managed to escape. But many others couldn’t get out of the buildings in time, and they were either crushed or buried alive."

"Brothers, there’s no doubt that we are facing the most challenging moment right now. Please, everyone, stay strong!"

After saying these words, Binder ended the live broadcast abruptly. It seemed like he had urgent matters to attend to.

At this point, many survivors sighed and didn’t know what to do. Someone questioned, "Why didn’t the system provide a warning about the earthquake? If the system had alerted us in advance, those people wouldn’t have had to die. Now, we’ve suddenly lost our homes and face serious survival challenges!"

"Yeah, this shouldn’t have happened! If there were system warnings, we wouldn’t have suffered such massive casualties. I have several friends I can’t contact now, and they’re probably in dire straits!"

In response to these questions, someone quickly stepped forward to explain, "Actually, if we look back, we’ll realize that the system had already given us a warning! Yes, don’t forget, the system had already informed us that there would be a super tsunami. Since there’s a tsunami, it means there’s a super earthquake! The unexpected part is that the earthquake that triggered the super tsunami should have occurred deep in the ocean. But it happened on our land? What’s going on?"

During this time, Waldo was closely monitoring the messages in the chat channel, especially those discussing the underlying reasons for the earthquake.

"Indeed, earthquakes should occur in the ocean to trigger tsunamis. But why are we feeling such a massive earthquake on land? Could the epicenter of the earthquake be on our land?"

Waldo furrowed his brow, deep in thought.

Just then, Helen seemed to have a revelation and her expression suddenly changed.

"What’s wrong? Did you think of something?" Alanna and Waldo both noticed her reaction and asked hurriedly.

Helen swallowed hard, trying to calm herself multiple times.

Finally, she said, "I’m wondering if the earthquake actually occurred deep in the ocean but was so terrifying that it extended to distant lands?!" 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚

Waldo blinked and then nodded. "That’s entirely possible. This is a terrifying scenario! Think about it, an earthquake erupting in the deep ocean, and when it reaches the land, it has the energy of an eight or even a nine on the Richter scale. So, how horrifying would a super earthquake originating deep in the ocean be? A super tsunami! It’s probably a disaster beyond our imagination!"

Waldo’s face turned pale. However, fortunately, he now had a first-class ticket to enter the Noah’s Ark. Perhaps, entering the Noah’s Ark was the only chance for survival.

He then shared his speculations, and in an instant, all survivors were shocked. Although they had various speculations before, they always felt their thoughts were too exaggerated and unlikely.

How massive must an earthquake be deep in the ocean to affect cities throughout the entire East Zone? However, when Waldo’s message was posted, many finally chose to believe it. The result was that survivors began to frantically scramble for tickets.

All signs indicated that the super tsunami would arrive very soon, and it would be extremely terrifying, submerging the entire land!

Unless they obtain a ticket, it will be challenging for them to survive the super tsunami.

"Brothers, please, someone give me a ticket! Please!"

"It’s better to rely on yourself than to rely on others! Work hard and strive to snatch a ticket!"

"The tsunami is about to arrive. I wonder if the Noah’s Ark can withstand it?"

"It definitely can! Otherwise, why would the system issue these tickets in the first place?"

"Good point, good point!"

"Let’s give it our all. No matter what, I must get a ticket!"

In the following days, survivors who hadn’t secured a ticket went on a rampage, desperately trying to obtain one. They were willing to do whatever it took, even resorting to violence.

Across the ruins of various cities, intense battles erupted everywhere as they fought ruthlessly for tickets. Nearly every battle was accompanied by brutal and bloody scenes.

There were only a limited number of tickets, and even with the earthquake’s devastating toll, the number of survivors still far exceeded the total number of tickets available.

Therefore, the fights for the tickets grew more numerous and brutal as time went on, becoming increasingly ruthless and bloodthirsty.

Perhaps the competition won’t end until the tsunami arrives.
