Chapter 181: Chapter 181: Just Run Over Our Dead Bodies

The comment stirred a bit of sadness, and a feeling of reluctance to part spread through everyone’s hearts.

Lily Hart quickly interrupted, pointing to the scratch-off ticket machine and declaring firmly, "There are definitely more to scratch, plenty of them!"

Many customers were amused by her deadpan expression, and her comedic interruption dispelled much of the sadness.

It was just that after spending so long at Spring-Watch Base, it was rare to encounter someone as genuine as Boss Hart, and they couldn’t help but feel a little emotional for a moment...

"Come on, come on, everyone get scratching!" Lily Hart called out.

The scene instantly erupted with activity as people rushed to buy scratch-off tickets—one person bought three, another bought four, and someone else bought three more.

Just like that, the entire stock was quickly swept clean. Lily Hart immediately placed an order for dozens more booklets of scratch-off tickets.

She had Diana Sharp and Tina Jacobs tear open the new packs and arrange them, while she herself entered lottery numbers for the customers.

The busy hours flew by. In the blink of an eye, the sky had darkened. Lily Hart rolled her neck and stretched luxuriously.

She finally rose slowly from her chair, pounding her nearly numb legs and muttering listlessly, "I’m so tired..."

Diana Sharp and Tina Jacobs exchanged a look and a smile. They were used to this level of intensity.

Lily Hart flopped onto the sofa, staring blankly into space. She stayed that way until the customers had once again bought up every last scratch-off ticket.

Only then did Diana Sharp announce, "Alright, we’re closing for the day. Everyone should head home now."

The customers glanced at her, looking quite reluctant, but none of them dared to say anything rude. They left, looking back every few steps.

Once everyone was gone, Lily Hart muttered under her breath, "These people are insane..."

It was arguably the day with the most customer traffic, but it was also the day with the highest win rate.

There were at least ten incredible prizes that even Lily Hart found impressive, and the one that surprised her the most...

...was a rabbit doll. It wasn’t just a doll—it was a doll that could turn into a real rabbit and protect its owner.

How badass.

Lily Hart felt that ever since arriving at Spring-Watch Base, the prizes from the scratch-off tickets had gotten more and more incredible. Although there weren’t any first or second grand prizes like the convenience store...

...for survivors in the post-apocalyptic world, they were all extremely practical. Like that thermos that produces water...

...or the saplings that could improve soil, the Protective Shield, and that fruit tree that was basically a blind box. She wanted them all so badly!

’The system is awesome!’

After finishing their meal in tired silence, the group zoned out for a while, then decided to leave.

Just then, the silence outside the RV was broken by a commotion. WHOOSH! Several hundred people came running over.

They surrounded the RV, inside and out. Lily Hart stared, dumbfounded, then waved at them. "We’re closed!"

But their expressions were far from friendly, even holding a hint of resentment.

Lily Hart was puzzled. ’We don’t even know each other that well. Why does each and every one of them look like I stole their Crystal Cores?’

If you don’t understand something, you should ask. So she naturally opened her mouth and asked, "And you’re all here for...?"

The residents outside didn’t speak. They just stood there, expressionless, their eyes fixed on Lily Hart.

Lily Hart: ?

Frost Shaw sensed something was off. She walked over to stand beside Lily Hart, her sharp gaze sweeping over the crowd.

’These people have only been behaving for a few days. What kind of trouble are they trying to stir up now?’

Both sides fell silent. Leo Colby and Roman Rowe exchanged a look and also rose to stand by Lily Hart’s side.

A bizarre battle of stares began out of nowhere. Ultimately, the people outside the RV were the first to back down.

One person spoke up as a representative, "Boss Hart, if you want to leave, you’ll have to run over our dead bodies!"

A few people even activated the recording function on their Light Brains, pointing them blatantly at the RV without any attempt at subtlety.

Lily Hart was even more baffled. ’What era are we in? Do people this melodramatic still exist?’

’She never liked being threatened. The moment they said that, she suddenly felt the urge to do just that—drive right over their corpses.’

’Do they really think this RV of mine runs on just four wheels? Fine, I’ll show them!’

Lily Hart, who had originally planned to leave the next morning, was slightly provoked. She decided to leave right here, right now, this very instant!

She went to the driver’s seat and did something at the controls. The two large headlights at the front of the vehicle instantly lit up, so bright that everyone couldn’t help but squint.

Someone shouted excitedly, "Look! Boss Hart is really going to run us over and kill us!"

"I can’t believe Boss Hart is such a heartless and vicious person! I was so wrong about her!"

Waves of disbelieving chatter erupted. The few residents responsible for recording even started live-streaming from multiple angles.

The stream was open to the entire network for anyone to watch, and the title was pure clickbait.

[The Famous Lottery Boss’s Shocking Private Life Exposed! Get in Here Now!]

Who could see a title like that and not want to click to take a look? Especially since Boss Hart was genuinely famous now.

Every day, hundreds of thousands of people followed Boss Hart’s movements, mostly wondering which base she would head to next.

There were even a few residents of Spring-Watch Base who had live-streamed Lily Hart selling scratch-off tickets.

They’d gotten rich overnight from the Crystal Core gifts viewers sent, but when Lily Hart found out, she expressly forbade it.

’How could I let you guys make that kind of money?’

But I digress.

In an instant, tens of thousands of people flooded into the few live streams, and the bullet comments flew across the screen.

[Is that really Lily Hart?]

[Besides Boss Hart, who else would have such a badass RV?]

[Wait, I can see a bit of the convenience store? Can the camera move to the side a little?]

[What’s this stream for? Why are they live-streaming Boss Hart?]

[Check out streamer xxxx for a different angle, by the way~]

Of course, Lily Hart was still completely oblivious to the fact she was being live-streamed. She said only one thing to the crowd:

"Bye-bye now~" She even gave a little wave, her voice lilting upwards in a cheerful tone that made her sound absolutely delighted.

The hundreds of people attempting to surround the RV were completely baffled. ’Bye-bye? How is she going to leave? Is she really going to run us over?’

But they soon found out. They watched, wide-eyed, as the RV rose into the air, stopping only when it reached a height of three meters.

The tallest person in the crowd was only two-point-one meters tall; they couldn’t touch the RV’s wheels even if they jumped.

All they could do was stare with wide eyes, watching helplessly as the RV began to float forward.

It was truly floating through the air, incredibly stable and not swaying in the slightest. And Lily Hart was still waving goodbye to them.

The crowd remained stunned for a long time. It wasn’t just the RV that was floating away—the convenience store, the hotel, and the bathhouse were all floating away with it.

"FUCK!" someone suddenly snapped back to reality and cursed.

"She’s gone? Just like that?"

"What else? You thought you could stop Boss Hart from leaving? Do any of you actually have that kind of power?"

"Yeah, we should have known. This method was useless from the start!"

"This didn’t work, and a frontal assault wouldn’t work either! What else can we possibly do?!"

"She’s already gone, what’s the point? Let’s just wait for the machines to be restocked."

As the RV disappeared from sight, the crowd immediately started fighting amongst themselves. One side claimed they knew it was useless from the beginning.

The other side cursed them out for being Monday-morning quarterbacks, asking why they hadn’t said so before and telling them to knock off the snide remarks now that it was over.

The few people who were live-streaming were also staring wide-eyed, just dazedly following the movement with their Light Brains.

They managed to capture the entire sequence: the RV rising into the air, hovering for a moment, and then floating away at an incredible speed.

For a split second, the bullet comments went silent. Then, they erupted in an even more torrential flood of discussion.
