Her eyes widened at the sight.
No wonder so many people liked reaping where they didn’t sow. It felt amazing.
Seeing them turn to leave, Perry Yates quickly followed.
’Yes, yes, yes, that’s it. C’mon, lead me back to your den.’
Perry Yates muttered to herself from inside Claudia Vance.
Just then, the ground suddenly began to shake. Immediately after, four or five members of the Snow-Ox Clan burst out from the snow, pinning down the other clan member.
Perry Yates gasped at the sight.
’When... did they get here!?’
’So, these members of the Snow-Ox Clan were already lying in ambush before I even found this place?’
At that moment, Perry Yates couldn’t help but feel grateful for her desire to get something for nothing. Otherwise, she’d be the one who was caught right now.
Down below, one of the Snow-Ox Clan members drew a black, curved blade from his waist and slashed it across the captured one’s neck. Blood gushed out instantly.
After only a few seconds, the clan member who had been struggling violently on the ground went silent and stopped moving.
Once the body stopped bleeding, the newly appeared Snow-Ox Clan members began to move.
First, they turned over the dead clan member’s corpse and took the bag used to carry the treasure boxes. Then they started stripping the clothes off the body.
In this Ice and Snow World, a piece of warm clothing was extremely precious.

’Don’t tell me this guy is with the Snow-Ox Clan members who just showed up.’
Soon enough, the subsequent conversation between the player and the Snow-Ox Clan proved her suspicion.
"I’ve done what you asked. You can let me go free now, right?" the player said.
"Not so fast. We’ll of course keep our promise to you, but there’s one more thing. Help us find their settlement," one of the Snow-Ox Clan members said casually after sizing him up.
’This person—no, this ox—doesn’t look like he’s going to keep his promise.’
Perry Yates thought to herself.
Still, them wanting to find the settlement’s location was perfect for her.
"Of course I haven’t forgotten. I’ve already memorized the settlement’s location. Follow me," the player said.
From their conversation, Perry Yates had pieced together what was going on.
The settlement that had originally captured him had annexed several other settlements this year and had a few newborns, leading to a food shortage.
To avoid freezing or starving to death in the coming cold snap, they could only set their sights on other settlements.
But the entire snowfield was vast, and it wasn’t easy for them to find the locations of other Snow-Ox Clan settlements.
At that point, a player had suddenly stepped forward and offered to go undercover.
After some discussion, the Snow-Ox Clan agreed to the player’s plan.
But to prevent him from escaping, they had another player poison him.
If he didn’t complete his mission within the specified time, the poison would activate and kill him.

Looking at the sky, the Snow-Ox Clan members didn’t act immediately. After all, there were only four of them.
By this time, most of the clan members who had been out during the day had returned. It wasn’t a good time to launch an attack.
As for the player who had led them there, after he pointed out the settlement’s location, one of the Snow-Ox Clan members mercilessly crushed him to death. His body was then tossed to the ground, twisted and mangled in a gruesome state.
Meanwhile, seeing that they weren’t going to act right away, Perry Yates piloted Claudia Vance into the settlement and began scouting with her X-ray vision.
She had been eating Bright Mushrooms for the past two days to improve her night vision, and the effects were significant.
While she couldn’t see as clearly as in the daytime, she could still make things out.
Combined with her X-ray vision, Perry Yates quickly got a clear picture of the entire settlement’s layout.
The storage location for food and clothes, the position of the treasure boxes, where the cards were, and the whereabouts of the newly captured players.
This time, however, Perry Yates only planned to take the cards and the treasure boxes.
As for the players, with four members of the Snow-Ox Clan standing guard outside, freeing them would likely alert the enemy.
Putting her plan into action, Perry Yates first turned on her Invisibility, then used Instant Teleportation to appear inside a storeroom made of ice. Two Snow-Ox Clan members stood guard outside.
Because the ice was transparent, the treasure boxes inside were faintly visible. So, this time, Perry Yates couldn’t just take the items directly as she had before.
But she wasn’t completely without a solution for this.
As they say, for every clever trick, there’s a cleverer counter.
’I’ll just swap the treasure boxes here with the empty ones I have.’
After all, she had plenty of empty treasure boxes on hand.
It was a bit of a hassle, but the thought of them going through all the trouble to bring the treasure boxes back to their own settlement, only to open them and find nothing, made her happy. Even the movements of her hands quickened.

After successfully getting the treasure box, Perry Yates returned to Claudia Vance, floating in the sky.
All that was left to do was wait quietly.
Hiding inside Claudia Vance, Perry Yates took a cloak out of her Space Backpack and put it on.
Her ski suit was warm enough, but she always felt like she couldn’t sleep soundly without something covering her.
