Chapter 31: Chapter 31: Glacial Realm 8

With this in mind, Perry Yates swallowed the jerky in her mouth and took another sip of brown sugar ginger water, her eyes fixed on the sole remaining male of the Snow-Ox Clan. She made up her mind. ’As soon as he leaves, I’ll secretly follow him.’

Sure enough, it wasn’t long before the Snow-Ox Clan member went into his room, packed some things, and left with a bundle on his back.

Seeing this, Perry Yates waited until he was a good distance away before crawling out of her snow cave and using the Claudia Vance card.

The next second, a cloud suddenly appeared, enveloping her completely and carrying her slowly into the sky.

It stopped once it reached a certain height.

By now, the Snow-Ox Clan member was already far in the distance; she could only vaguely make out his retreating figure.

However, this was no big deal for Perry Yates.

She controlled the cloud and gave chase.

The cloud was indeed a bit slow—about the speed of a pedicab—but compared to trudging through the snow on foot, it was perfectly acceptable.

Just like that, Perry Yates followed the Snow-Ox Clan member from a distance, occasionally observing her surroundings.

’That glimmer of light... looks like a treasure box?’

From a distance, Perry Yates saw a place shimmering with a golden light, very similar to when she had found treasure boxes before. But this light seemed much more brilliant, and she guessed it might be a high-level treasure box.

After a moment of indecision, Perry Yates ultimately decided to give up on the treasure box and continue tracking the Snow-Ox Clan member. ’One treasure box or a whole pile of them? The choice was obvious.’

She followed the Snow-Ox Clan member all the way from day until night.

Finally, just before the sky turned completely dark, the Snow-Ox Clan member reached his destination.

Unlike the previous village built of wood and straw, this one was constructed from snow and ice. Even the main gate was made of ice.

Not long after the Snow-Ox Clan member entered the village, Perry Yates also arrived above it, piloting her cloud.

Inside the village were ice houses of various sizes.

Activating her X-ray vision, Perry Yates began to search for the place where this village’s Snow-Ox Clan stored their food.

’Found it!’

Compared to the previous Snow-Ox Clan, who hid their food in a single cellar, the ones here were clearly much smarter.

They understood not to put all their eggs in one basket.

Besides that, Perry Yates also discovered many unopened treasure boxes. They were all rare, with the lowest quality being Silver Treasure Chests.

At the same time, she also found the place where players were being held captive.

These players must have been captured recently; they were still injured.

In addition to these imprisoned players, she also noticed some who were moving about freely.

’Recalling the information I got from that young man, these must be the ones who lost their player status and are now permanently trapped here.’

After locating all the places where supplies were hidden, Perry Yates couldn’t help but frown. Since she started looking, she hadn’t seen any trace of cards.

Unlike the previous village where supplies were piled up haphazardly, the supplies here were neatly sorted. This made it easy for Perry Yates to see that there were no cards among them.

’Could they be in the rooms of the other Snow-Ox Clan members?’

She thought about the players wandering around the village.

’Even without their player status, players are still players. To prevent them from getting their hands on the cards, gaining power, and defeating them, the Snow-Ox Clan here probably gathered all the cards and hid them together.’

With this in mind, Perry Yates began to meticulously scan the entire village from above.

Soon, she discovered traces of the cards inside one of the ice houses.

They were all collected in a gold and red box, which was disguised as an ordinary chest and placed under a bed.

There was no one else in the room at the moment. It seemed that because of the arrival of the Snow-Ox Clan member from before, the village’s clan members had decided to give him a proper welcome.

This, in turn, made things convenient for Perry Yates.

Under the cover of night, she first used Instant Teleportation and Invisibility to get to the place where the feast was being held.

At this moment, all the Snow-Ox Clan members and the tamed players were here. They were drinking deeply and eating heartily, looking incredibly merry.

Seeing this, Perry Yates silently approached the container holding the wine and began to add poison.

The poison from her Thorny Rose was extremely potent and also had a paralyzing effect.

Since it was her first time, Perry Yates didn’t have much experience. Afraid of them noticing something was wrong, she didn’t dare add too much.

Besides, the Snow-Ox Clan members were enormous. Killing them outright might be difficult, but paralyzing them so they couldn’t move should be no problem at all.

As she watched the Snow-Ox Clan and the players drink down all the poisoned wine, Perry Yates calculated the time it would take for the toxin to take effect.

’Three!’

’Two!’

’One!’

The players were the first to react.

A dose that wasn’t lethal for the Snow-Ox Clan was fatal for them.

One by one, they collapsed, foaming at the mouth. Soon, they stopped moving altogether.

Seeing this, the Cryohorn Clan also realized something was wrong, but it was too late.

The toxin entered their bloodstream through their stomachs and spread to every part of their bodies. They were paralyzed.

Seeing this, Perry Yates breathed a sigh of relief. She didn’t choose to reveal herself and taunt them—that was something only villains and protagonists did.

Since she didn’t know how long the poison would last, her original plan was to finish off the Snow-Ox Clan members after they were incapacitated.

Taking the Spiritual Ability Gun in hand, she aimed at one of the Snow-Ox Clan members.

A blue light shot out from the Spiritual Ability Gun. It hit the Snow-Ox Clan member, but it was off-target.

Moreover, the pain caused the poisoned and unconscious Snow-Ox Clan member to show faint signs of waking up.

Seeing this, Perry Yates quickly unleashed her Thorny Rose, poisoning him again and sending him back into unconsciousness.

’Better not.’

Putting away the Spiritual Ability Gun, Perry Yates left the area.

First, the cards. She found the room, went inside, and took the box of cards from under the bed, putting it directly into her Space Backpack.

Next, she hurried nonstop to the ice houses where the treasure boxes were hidden, collecting them all into her Space Backpack. Then came the food and clothes.

True to her principle of taking everything that wasn’t nailed down, Perry Yates planned on leaving them nothing.

From what she had observed of the captured players, almost every single one was injured—clearly the work of the Snow-Ox Clan.

She then went to the room where the players were imprisoned. After tossing down some clothes and food, Perry Yates said to them in a low voice, "I’ve poisoned the Snow-Ox Clan. They’re all down. I don’t know when they’ll wake up, so use this chance to get out of here."

Without waiting for a reaction, Perry Yates left.

After returning to the sky, Perry Yates didn’t leave right away. She wanted to see if the Snow-Ox Clan would call for reinforcements from other clansmen after waking up the next day.

’If they do... hehehe.’

However, this thought of Perry’s didn’t last long.

Because the captured players, now with enough clothes and food, and knowing that the monsters who had captured them were down and poisoned, began their revenge.
