Chapter 6 - A mistake
"I'll go next," Yuji said with a grin as he stepped forward. Just like the rest, he placed his palm on the orb, and it began its assessment.
After a while, it stopped.
"What? Why did it stop?" Yuji questioned in confusion as he saw the orb suddenly halt.
"I don't understand. It has never done this before," the holy servant said, just as confused as he was.
She then began walking toward him, hoping to find out what was wrong when...
Boom!
A huge energy blast suddenly spread out of the orb and through the entire space, hitting everyone and making them fall to the ground, the holy servant not being an exception.
A symbol then appeared on the surface of the orb. It was shaped like a sword, but it had three blades coming out of one hilt.
And that wasn't all. A stick with strange runes hovered above it, surrounded by all elements dancing around.
And even then, it didn't end. A fist on top of an open palm—an ancient symbol of judgment—also appeared.
Three different images, meaning three different classes!
"Impossible! How did he gain three different classes? Even in legend, only one person has ever gained two different classes, let alone three!" the king said, his mouth dropping open. It seemed like he wanted to say more, but he was at a loss for words.
The holy lady was no exception, as she too was shocked to the core. "You're correct. This is an event that has never been heard of before. Also, it's not just three regular classes that he has gained, but legendary classes!" she said, still with a shocked expression.
"What do you mean by legendary classes?" Miyuki asked with an inquisitive look.
The holy lady turned to her and began to explain, "You see, even classes have ranks, which you will be taught later. But know this: you all awakened common-ranked classes, except for someone like Mayumi, who awakened a holy-rank class. Anyways, the legendary rank is the highest rank, and your subordinate here has awakened not one, but three of them! The awakening of two classes was only heard of in legend, and that person was only able to awaken common-rank classes. But Yuji here has awakened three legendary-rank classes, making him the first in the history of this world to achieve such a feat," the holy servant said, still with shock on her face.
"Whoa, Yuji is that strong now? Awesome, Yuji-sama!" Miyuki said, already beginning to start licking his boots.
"Incredible! This is definitely putting us in a very promising position against the Demon King's army!" the king said, excitement overlapping his voice.
Suddenly, Yuji's body began to glow with an ethereal light, and armor began to form on his body.
The armor seemed to merge with his skin, fitting him perfectly. A long sword was strapped to his side, looking both majestic and menacing.
With this armor, Yuji no longer looked like a regular company worker but a god. A handsome god of war!
Yuji walked up to his co-workers with a huge smile on his face. "Hahahaha! I can't believe I'm now like one of those OP legendary main characters in novels and mangas! This is just so cool!!" he said, brimming with joy and excitement.
Now, everyone had already done their assessment except for Kenji.
They all looked at him, waiting for him to step toward the orb. Just as they expected, Kenji moved forward, though he was a bit nervous.
"Why am I so nervous? Everything is going to be fine. Besides, I know I'm better than Yuji and his group, so why am I so nervous? Fuuh!" He took in a deep breath, then exhaled.
"It's time to show everyone that I'm better than what they take me for. It's time to go legendary!" He then calmly placed his hand on the orb.
"What do you think Kenji-san is going to get?" Miyuki asked with an inquisitive look on her face. After awakening her class, she had become a bit more confident and no longer as shy as she normally was.
"I don't know, but I know it's not going to be as good as Yuji's. He is a once-in-a-billion-years prodigy," the holy servant said with a smile.
Hearing her words, Yuji puffed his chest out, 40% pride and 60% arrogance.
"Don't get too arrogant there, Yuji. You still have to wait for the results," Haru said, hoping to tone down some of Yuji's inflating pride.
"Whatever," Yuji said dismissively as he finally ended the effects of his powers.
They waited for about a minute, but after a few more seconds, there was still no reaction from the orb.
At first, they thought that maybe the situation was just like Yuji's, but after waiting twenty minutes without any change, they realized something was wrong.
"Damn it, damn it, damn it, damn it, damn it!" Kenji cursed in his heart. He realized that his situation wasn't like Yuji's at all. He was completely wrong. Nothing was happening to him.
He then turned around and spotted the holy servant heading in his direction, and in a panic, he hit the orb on its side.
Something immediately began to happen.
Just like the others, the orb sucked out a bit of Kenji's energy and began to awaken the power within it. When it was completed, it sent the energy back into Kenji's body, causing him to feel a bit refreshed.
The orb then displayed an image of a cat and dog running around chasing each other.
Seeing this, both the holy servant and the king paused for a second and rubbed their eyes, hoping they had seen wrong.
But they hadn't.
They saw it clearly.
Painfully clearly.
"Oh my god..." the holy servant said, covering her mouth in shock.
"What? What's going on?" Kenji asked curiously, with a hint of concern.
"I can't believe it... You aren't even a Beast Tamer..." the king muttered in disbelief.
Kenji felt his heart pound. "So... what does that mean?" he asked, worry growing inside him.

But what the holy servant said next made his heart sink to the lowest depths of his soul.
"Y-You... You're a mistake!"
