Chapter 63: Chapter 63 The Alpha’s Warning
Author
Alpha Enzo waited from morning till evening. Almost everyone at Wolfe Industries had left for the day.
He looked at Dominic’s assistant one more time. His face showed he was getting frustrated. "Do you know if Alpha Dominic is free yet?"
The assistant checked his watch. It was nearly eight o’clock. He tried to look surprised, but Alpha Enzo could tell it was fake.
"Wow, eight already? Let me check again," he said politely.
Alpha Enzo watched the assistant knock on Dominic’s office door and slip inside.
This time he stayed in there longer than usual. Alpha Enzo could hear quiet voices but couldn’t make out the words.
The assistant came back with a different expression on his face. He looked relieved.
"Alpha Dominic is free now. You can go in," the assistant said.
Alpha Enzo knew Alpha Dominic had made him wait on purpose. But he couldn’t show anger.
"Thank you so much," he said. His politeness was fake.
Alpha Dominic had just finished signing papers when Alpha Enzo walked into his office.
"Alpha Dominic, sorry for bothering you today," Enzo said. His smile looked tight.
Dominic’s face showed nothing. "Alpha Enzo, sorry I was so busy today. I made you wait." His voice didn’t sound sorry at all. His eyes stayed cold.
"My assistant said you had something urgent. What do you need?" Alpha Dominic asked slowly. He sat back in his chair like a cat watching a mouse.
Alpha Enzo laughed. It sounded fake. "I should say sorry for taking up your time. It’s about that land on the East Side. I heard you bought it recently."
"Ah, that land," Alpha Dominic said slowly. He tapped his fingers on the desk. "That property is very important for Wolfe Industries. We’re going to build a resort there. Were you interested in it, Alpha Enzo?"
"Sorry, then I can’t help you," he added coldly. It was clear there was no discussion.
Alpha Enzo knew perfectly well that Alpha Dominic had no real plans for that land. This sudden purchase was aimed at him. It was payback for what happened with Elara.
What worried him most wasn’t just losing this property. If Alpha Dominic kept coming after him, things could get much worse for his pack.
“Alpha Dominic," Enzo said. His voice was careful, measured. He sat on the edge of his chair like he might need to run.
"Nadia made a mistake yesterday. She and Elara had a fight. I told her to make things right with Elara. But she screwed it up." He ran a hand through his hair, looking exhausted.
Alpha Dominic didn’t move. Didn’t even blink. Just watched Enzo with those cold eyes.
"I’ll make sure she says sorry to Elara the right way. Even if she is Elara’s mother, she had no right to hit her." Alpha Enzo spoke like he meant it. His hands were clenched in his lap. Sweat beaded on his forehead despite the cool office.
But his words sounded empty to Dominic. Like promises he’d heard too many times before.
Alpha Dominic leaned back in his leather chair. The silence stretched between them like a knife.
"How interesting," Alpha Dominic replied with a cold smile. It didn’t reach his eyes. If anything, his expression got more dangerous. "I thought you came to talk business. But since you brought up family matters, let’s talk about that instead."
Enzo’s throat worked nervously. He knew he was in deep trouble.
Alpha Dominic slowly spun the pen between his fingers. The movement was hypnotic, predatory.
His eyes never left Enzo’s face. Like a snake watching a mouse. "Usually, I wouldn’t get involved in problems between my mate and her mother. But this isn’t usual, is it?"
The pen stopped spinning. The silence was deafening.
Enzo opened his mouth to speak, but Alpha Dominic held up one finger. Stop.
"The first time, Nadia trapped my mate in a closet at your house, where she did nothing but tear my mate down" Dominic’s voice got quieter, more deadly.
"The second time, Nadia went after my mate’s grandmother at her nursing home, nearly giving the old woman a heart attack. " His knuckles were white around the pen.
"And now, for the third time, she went to my mate’s company and slapped her because she thinks she can control her." Alpha Dominic stood up slowly. His full height was intimidating.
Enzo shrank back in his chair.
Dominic’s eyes turned black. The Alpha power in the room was crushing. "Tell me, Alpha Enzo, if your mate had been attacked three times, what would you do?"
Enzo’s mouth opened and closed like a fish. No words came out.
Alpha Dominic walked around the desk. Each step was deliberate, threatening. "I don’t even want an apology from Nadia anymore. Apologies are just words, and her words mean nothing. I just want her to act like Elara doesn’t exist. Since she clearly doesn’t love Elara, I’ll take care of her myself from now on."
He stopped right in front of Enzo’s chair. Looked down at him like he was garbage.
The message was completely clear. Stay away. All of you.
Alpha Dominic glanced at his watch. The movement was dismissive, final. "Now, I have another meeting, so you can go."
Alpha Enzo felt his heart sink. There was no way to fix this.
The drive home felt like a funeral march.
When he returned home, his face was dark with worry.
Nadia didn’t dare ask what happened. She was scared he might take his anger out on her.
Alpha Enzo stared at her coldly. "You have two choices now. Either find your daughter and really apologize, get down on your knees for her forgiveness, or accept that you don’t have a daughter anymore. Whatever success she gets in life will have nothing to do with you."
"It’s up to you," he said angrily.
After saying that, Alpha Enzo left the house fast.
Nadia pressed her lips together. She found a new phone number that hadn’t been blocked yet.
She wrote a long message and sent it to Elara, not knowing if her daughter would ever forgive her.
