Chapter 138: Chapter 138 The Aftermath
Author
The Vance Estate
Alpha Enzo was just as angry as Alpha Jimmy. "Nadia, how did you raise Elara? I’ve never been cruel to her, and this is how she treats my daughter?"
Anthony had been waiting years to say this. "Mom, I told you Elara was trouble. You kept making excuses for her anyway. You should have cut her off when she turned eighteen. Now she’s destroyed my sister’s mating ceremony. I swear, I want to make her pay!"
Alpha Enzo shot his son a sharp look. "Don’t be an idiot."
Elara had serious protection now. Not just Anthony. Even if the Vance family teamed up with all their allies, none of them could go up against Alpha King.
Anthony shut his mouth. He knew this wasn’t the time to go after Elara.
Selina was crying, looking completely broken.
If someone had to take the blame for today’s mess, that person was obviously Elara.
And as Elara’s mother, Luna Nadia was getting blamed too.
"Mom, I know you’ve never really loved me." Selina’s tears came harder. "But Elara doesn’t even talk to you anymore. Are you still going to defend her?"
"I—" Luna Nadia couldn’t find words. Looking at the daughter she’d raised, she felt something cold settle in her chest. "Selina, haven’t I been good enough to you?"
Luna Nadia had given everything for this girl.
"I don’t know! All I know is you said nothing at my ceremony today. You just stood there and let Elara make me look like a monster!"
Luna Nadia looked like she’d been hit. For a moment, she couldn’t speak.
"Enough, Selina. Stop crying." Alpha Enzo cut through the drama. He needed to focus on fixing this mess. "Tell me the truth. Did you do any of this stuff?"
"Daddy, you don’t believe me either?" Selina’s voice cracked. Alpha Enzo’s heart twisted.
"Hey, come here." He pulled her into a hug. "Daddy’s going to fix this, okay? I promise."
Alpha Enzo’s thoughts were racing.
[Worst case, he’d find some people to take the blame. No matter what, his daughter was not going to jail.
Besides, all of this happened years ago.
Going deeper would only make things worse for Selina.
The best move was to find some wolves to blame for this. Fast.]
Anthony looked at his sister with concern. "Come on, Selina. I’ll help you upstairs."
Before leaving, he shot his mother a disappointed look. "Mom, you should really think about what you’ve done."
Luna Nadia watched her husband refuse to meet her eyes. Her son didn’t trust her anymore. Her daughter had just broken her heart.
Something finally clicked in Luna Nadia’s mind. She suddenly saw how good Selina was at manipulation.
All those times before when Selina would cry, Luna Nadia had automatically blamed Elara. She’d always told Elara to be nicer, to cut her little sister some slack.
How many of those tears had been fake? How many times had Selina been playing her exactly like today?

Alpha Dominic glanced over while driving. "Feeling better now?"
Elara shook her head. "A little satisfied, maybe. But I wouldn’t say happy. I keep thinking about those girls..."
They weren’t kids anymore, of course. But some of their scars would never fully heal.
"Don’t worry about them. I’ll get our pack’s lawyers involved. They’ll help the families and victims who need legal support." Dominic’s voice was calm and confident.
"Thank you, Dominic." Elara’s gratitude was completely real.
Alpha Dominic just smiled quietly.
"Did she do things like that to you too? When you were younger?"
Elara looked away from his serious stare, watching the scenery outside instead. "Not to that extreme. But yeah, there were... incidents."
She’d survived it on her own, though.
She hoped those other victims could do the same.
Alpha Dominic wanted to say more, but he just smiled slightly. The dangerous look in his eyes would have to wait.
Selina. He wouldn’t let that woman get away with anything.
A phone ringing suddenly broke the tense mood in the car.
"Hello? Dr. Martinez?"
The call was from the hospital. Elara’s face went from worried to absolutely thrilled in seconds.
"Dr. Martinez, are you serious? My grandmother woke up?"
Hearing that, Alpha Dominic immediately turned the car around, heading straight for the hospital.
