Chapter 503: E
Emile Monroe looked at Clement Sable and asked what was happening between Damien and Dawn. They were related, and he had seen Damien grow up. So, he was sure that this young man was not a troublemaker, which was true for Dawn.
While waiting for a response, Saffron approached Dawn and asked, "What’s up?"
Dawn looked at the girl’s curious eyes and said, "Your cousin lost in a confrontation with me the other day, so now he is back to seek redemption."
This statement was calm, but the blunt impact of the words sent everyone into a daze. Liza asked, "Dawn, what did you say? You had a confrontation with Damien?"
Emile was also stunned, and he looked at Clement Sable, who sighed and nodded faintly. Saffron grabbed Dawn’s shoulder and asked in surprise, "You mean to say you defeated this guy? Do you know that he is a special forces operative? He is among the elites of this entire country, and you defeated him? You are not joking with me, are you?"
Dawn smiled at her and asked, "If it was not the truth, then why do you think he is challenging me to a fight?"
Saffron thought for a bit and looked at Damien. She asked, "Big cousin, is what he said true?"
Damien clenched his fist. Saffron had always idolized him as an invincible person. If he accepted his defeat, it would shatter that impression. He did not wish for that to happen, but before he could come up with a suitable answer, Clement said, "You do not have to think so much. It is true."
Saffron, Liza, and Emile were all shocked. Clement asked, "Damien, do not embarrass us all."
Dawn turned around and raised his foot to leave the house when Damien said, "I am not embarrassing anyone. I am asking for a sincere duel with him. Last time, I underestimated him and was not prepared for his retaliation. I will accept my defeat but not without a chance to prove my skills."
Dawn turned around and gazed into Damien’s eyes coldly before he said, "Do you think I am a saint? You are a soldier, so you should know what defeat means in the battle."
Damien nodded while glaring at him and said, "I do know the meaning of defeat, but as long as you are alive, you can turn the tables. We must not give up as long as we are alive."
Dawn began laughing loudly. The other people were surprised, and Damien was enraged. He asked, "Do you think I am joking?"
The laughing young man shook his head and calmed down slowly before he gazed at Damien coldly and remarked, "I am just curious if you have a death wish."
Saffron and Liza were shocked; they had not expected Dawn to talk to Damien like this. He was threatening to kill a person, and they could tell for some reason Dawn was not joking. However, his words got on Damien’s nerves.
Damien clenched his fist so tightly that his flesh appeared pale. His battle intent was soaring. Dawn said, "You will never bother me again if I fight with you?"
Damien nodded, and Dawn said, "Come on, we should fight in the garden."
He turned around and walked out of the house without caring for anyone. Damien followed him quickly. Emile and Liza were still gazing at each other; Saffron said, "Grandpa Clement, if the big cousin is about to hurt Dawn, you have to intervene, please."
Clement sighed and said, "I doubt anything will happen to him. Come on."
They all chased after the old man, heading to the garden. They found Dawn and Damien standing ten meters apart. Emile was stunned at the scene’s visual impact. He asked, "Is this Dawn?"
Clement gazed at him but did not say anything. Saffron said, "A few days ago, he dealt with Onii. He must have learned some skills, but I did not expect him to act like this."
Liza held Saffron’s shoulder. At this moment, Dawn was not losing out in temperament when facing Damien. One was a teenager, while the other was a seasoned soldier who had seen real action.
Dawn stood his ground calmly, looking at Damien. They were both gazing at each other. The latter was analyzing Dawn’s stance for any weaknesses he might have. However, he was surprised. Even when Dawn was standing casually, he could not find any holes.
He was surprised. He could not comprehend how this guy was able to do this. The military did not train Dawn. He gazed at Dawn and found that the young man was following his gaze and intimidating him with his battle aura only.
Saffron asked, "Will these people fight or just keep staring at each other?"
Clement said, "They are already fighting."
Saffron scoffed, as she did not understand anything. However, Clement raised his cane and tapped hard on the ground the next moment. The two people moved quickly, and as they came close, Damien suddenly shifted his weight and jumped away from Dawn.
The next moment, he heard a whoosh. Dawn kicked the air, and it made a whooshing sound. Damien’s forehead was covered with a layer of sweat. He never expected Dawn to be so fast. However, his instincts were on point, allowing him to evade the attack.
The next moment, Damien lunged forward, aiming his fist at Dawn. However, the young man used the back of his hand and parried the attack to the side. Then he jumped lightly and delivered a roundhouse kick directly at Damien’s forehead.
Clement gripped the handle of his cane tightly, and Liza sucked in a cold breath. Saffron opened her eyes as she could not believe that Dawn was toying around with Damien.
Emile commented, "Marvelous."
The kick was about to contact Damien’s forehead when the latter ducked and dodged the attack quickly. Dawn landed on the ground, and Damien grappled his back, intending to suplex the guy. However, when he tried to lift Dawn, he found this young man was very heavy.
Dawn sighed and said, "Now, let me show you a glimpse of true strength."
He grabbed the arms coiled around his waist. He pulled the arms away from his body and yanked Damien into an overhead slam. The attack made the latter fall on his back, and the impact knocked all the air out of his lungs.
Then Dawn stepped forward and knelt close to Damien with his punch aimed at his head. Clement moved forward and shouted, "Young Man, stay your hand!!"
However, this time, Dawn did not stop and punched the ground. The impact sent a tremor through the ground. The vibrations were vague, but they all could feel them. Dawn looked at the old man and said, "Old Sir, I will spare him for now, but tell him not to bother me again with this childish temper. My patience is limited."
He stood and flung his hand before walking toward the mansion’s gate. Saffron was shocked, but she woke up when Clement nudged her as he rushed to check on his grandson. Saffron said, "Mom, I will check on Dawn."
Liza nodded, and Emile said, "Get Jack to drop him off."
Saffron chased after Dawn while the elders exchanged glances and came to check on Damien. Clement checked his grandson and found that he was unharmed; however, when he looked at the deep hole beside Damien’s head, he sucked in a cold breath.
The garden was not natural; it was artificial, and the bottom layer was concrete. Dawn was able to punch through a four-inch thick layer of concrete. Clement opened his eyes wide and looked at Emile and Liza, who were equally stunned. He said, "Emile, I am telling you that you should maintain a good relationship with that child. He is not simple and destined to achieve great things."
Emile was about to nod, but Liza said, "Uncle Clement, you do not have to worry. That child is as dear to me as Saffron. Without him, our daughter would have been long gone. So, even if he stays mediocre all his life, it does not make any difference to us."
Her husband nodded and said, "I agree with Liza."
Clement nodded and said, "As long as you know, it is good. However, I am afraid that his skills and talent can also garner him some hatred, so be careful, too."
Liza nodded, but she had some other idea. Emile was the same, but he did not say anything to Clement. They were all humans and had seen the wider world, the undercurrents and conspiracies. However, they did not say anything as they defended their ideas.
...
Saffron caught up with Dawn, walking with his hands stuffed in his pockets. She asked, "When did you become so awesome?"
Dawn smiled and did not answer. He was happy that Saffron had not changed by the display just now. He asked, "Do you also want to be awesome?"
Saffron was stunned and asked, "Can I be?"
Dawn nodded and said, "Yes, you can be. But it will not be easy."
Saffron thought about it and said, "Let’s do that after exams, first, you should give me tuitions."
Dawn nodded and agreed to coach her before he got in the car and Jack drove him away.
