Chapter 502: EE
Dawn was shocked by this person’s arrival. He ignored the questions and analyzed the enemy. Since this guy had already attacked him, it meant he would not walk away uninjured. The only thing that he could do was fight.
The enemy before him had a pale complexion. His build was lean, and bones were apparent under the skin. Dawn thought of the reason behind his appearance and mumbled, "Necromancer."
His words surprised the person, and his icy blue pupils constricted for a blink. He asked in a hoarse voice, "This is your last chance. Tell me who you are."
Dawn stood up straight and said, "Who I am is not of your concern. However, I did not expect to meet a necromancer here. What is your name? Or have you forgotten everything under the influence of Yin?"
The necromancer did not say anything and just moved in to attack Dawn. The latter was not going to stand ideally. He moved back quickly and took the sharpened chopsticks from his sleeve. Dawn planned to use these as his weapons. He was weak, but he was not inexperienced about the enemy.
When he was in the heavens, Dawn had seen his fair share of battles, and Necromancers were the people he disliked the most. He focused on the enemy before him and avoided the attacks.
Strong necromancers’ nails were filled with cold corpse poison. Once infected, the poison rendered the victim useless and slowly gnawed away at their vitality. Dawn did not want to die a painful death so early. He dodged the attacks; in his eyes, the necromancer was not doing anything that required him to exert himself—just mindless grabs and scratching attacks.
It was like running away from a child chasing behind him quickly. Dawn was not in a hurry, and he was thankful for the open space he had for himself. If he were to meet this guy in a closed space, then given his present situation, he would not have been able to react.
The necromancer growled like an animal and asked, "Do you only know how to run away? Were you not very arrogant just now?"
Dawn did not reply; he was thinking about how to kill this guy. There were only a few methods to take down a Necromancer. The most effective one was to trap the necromancer inside a yang energy formation. However, Dawn did not have any such material on him.
Se, he chooses the next best option. This option required him to get closer to the enemy and stab him with his chopsticks. The yin energy may give one explosive strength, but it also has drawbacks. The practitioner’s vitality would gradually weaken, and if they were not careful, then just a love tap would injure them. It was not until they had reached a higher level of strength that they became invulnerable to physical attacks.
Dawn could figure that this guy was still in the initial stages, probably because he did not know how to harvest the energy efficiently. Deciding on what to do, Dawn took a deep breath, controlled the Yang energy in the void, and covered the tip of his chopstick with it as he moved close to the enemy.
The necromancer smiled with a maniacal gaze. He thought his words had provoked his prey, and now he could kill Dawn. However, his assumptions were proved wrong. Just as the Necromancer leaned in to claw at Dawn, the latter suddenly stopped and took a side step.
The necromancer was surprised but woke up from a strong pain in his abdomen the next moment. He looked down and found a pair of chopsticks stabbed in his body. He grimaced and reached out to pull them out, but he froze and wailed.
The Yang energy around the chopsticks came in contact with the Yin in his abdominal cavity, and the sudden imbalance caused him pain. Dawn did not wish to miss the opportunity, so he rushed over from behind the necromancer and stabbed the back of his head with the chopstick. He applied great force this time, and half the chopstick was buried inside.
The necromancer was stunned; however, to overcome death, he tried to reach out and grab Dawn’s arm. The latter yanked the head with the chopstick to the side to throw the enemy off-balance as he channeled yang energy to the depths of the necromancer’s brain.
He was in the third stage of body refinement realm. If the enemy underestimated him, the strength of thirty bulls could do serious damage, and the Necromancer did not expect to encounter someone like him.
The yang energy overwhelmed the yin, melting the necromancer’s brain and burning him from the inside out. His protest ended, but just to be sure, Dawn stabbed the rest of his chopsticks along the spine of the necromancer and used the same energy-channeling technique to burn the enemy completely.
Then he stepped back and watched the scene unfold before him. The necromancer’s gaze was focused on Dawn, even as the energy inside him became the cause of his death. If it were some other person, they would have puked or shivered, but the fact that Dawn had killed in the heavens made him easily get used to things.
In his life as the Heavenly Prince, Dawn had only killed many people who tried to do him wrong. However, the scenes at those times were even messier than this. He took a few deep breaths and calmed down as he watched the necromancer turn into a puddle of water.
The yang energy opposed the yin energy, causing the necromancer to melt. Dawn shook his head and said, "This is what happens when you cannot control energies in a balance."
That said, he came closer to where the Necromancer’s clothes had fallen. He searched them and found a mobile and a wallet. He could not unlock the device, but the wallet told him about the dead guy’s identity. He kept these things, but he was sure that this person was not the master that Onii was bragging about.
He had his reasons behind this conclusion. One was that this guy was too weak. Experts do not have the mindset to underestimate their opponents. Another was that this guy’s ID card had a picture seventy percent similar to Onii’s. Dawn guessed this guy to be his brother or father.
He put all of it to the back of his mind. Dawn sighed and decided to continue cultivating in the place. With his stronger capacity, he could reach the peak of the first stage of body refinement, and then, at least, he would not have to worry about most of the troubles. He could focus on gathering capital to extend his search for spiritual materials.
Dawn came to the place he was cultivating earlier and began to absorb the energy from both sides one at a time and refine his physique to the most optimal level.
...
While Dawn was cultivating, an old man opened his eyes and coughed up a mouthful of blood somewhere far away. He clenched his fists, and his pale blue eyes opened up wide. He took a deep breath and said, "To think someone will be able to defeat him. Hmph, whoever you are. Once I end my seclusion, I will come after you to avenge my cauldron."
The old man had an icy blue complexion. He seemed to be a skeleton with some frozen skin stuck to it. However, the gloom and chill radiated from his body did not match the vitality of his gaze. This guy was sitting inside an ice cave. After speaking, the old man returned to close his eyes.
Dawn had no idea that his self-defense had earned him an enemy.
...
The young man sat on the ground till the sun rose on the horizon. Dawn had finished absorbing everything he could in the surroundings. The cemetery did not look desolate like before, and the Sun Temple’s appearance became humble. This was bound to happen after Dawn absorbed most of their energies.
The young man stood up and stretched his body, issuing crackling sounds. Dawn was carefully cultivating last night, and now, if someone were to cut him open, they would find that his bones were akin to white marble, if not jade. Bone refining was the hardest and the most time-consuming in the first cultivation realm.
Dawn looked around and found that his body felt lighter. He tried jumping on the spot and reached as high as seven feet above the ground with ease. He walked and ran around for a bit before leaving the place. It was six in the morning and he did not wish to be spotted by anyone.
Now he was going to meet Saffron and talk to her about Trevor. Then, ponder about what he should do for business. Dawn ran off, unaware that someone from the Sun Temple caught a glimpse of his speeding figure and smiled faintly.
