Chapter 58: Chapter 58: Big Brother! Bai, Bai Zhi!

One of the Beastmen asked doubtfully, "Lao San, we’ve been waiting for so long, but we haven’t seen her come out at all! Are you sure she lives here? This is the best residential area on all of Blue Star."

The one called Lao San was a Beastman with a scar on his face. He said in a vicious tone, "I’ve asked the neighbors near her old place. She definitely moved out a few days ago. I spent half the day asking around before I found out she’s living here now! Son of a bitch, that little bitch said she was broke! And what happens? She turns around and moves into a mansion! She even got two whole buildings!"

The Beastman who had received the news earlier was named Wu Jiang. He was originally from the casinos, but some trouble a while back had him and a few others on the run, being hunted down to this day.

His eyes were dark as he stared at the main gate. "Her Beast Husbands went on a group hunt. As long as we’re patient, we’ll catch her coming out eventually."

"What if she never comes out?"

The other man replied, "Then we’ll find a way to make her come out! Once she’s out, with this many of us, you think we can’t handle one little female?"

These guys were all homeless now, constantly hiding. The whole group hunting system was useless to them.

By the same token, they didn’t have much of anything, except a whole lot of time.

The Beastman who had just spoken turned and saw the others craning their necks, looking like they wanted the whole world to know what they were up to. He smacked them on the head and hissed angrily, "Get down! Didn’t you see the guards at the gate look over here a few times already?"

The Beastman who got hit clutched his head and yelped, "OW! Easy, easy... I just wanted to get a better look so I wouldn’t miss her, you know?"

He raised his hand again. "Still talking back!"

The Beastman who had just been hit ducked, muttering under his breath but not daring to speak up.

Bai Zhi had no idea what was happening outside. At that moment, she was signing a contract with Xiang Ling.

After they both signed, Xiang Ling laughed heartily and extended a hand to Bai Zhi. "A pleasure doing business with you. I guess that makes you my landlady now!"

She added with a touch of emotion, "I really didn’t expect this. My new neighbor turns out to be my new landlady, hahaha..."

Bai Zhi chuckled. "Well then, you’d better pay your rent on time. Otherwise, I can come knocking to collect whenever I want."

"If you’re coming to collect, please bring some delicious food. I guarantee I’ll pay faster than anyone."

Xiao Yu rested her head on her hand as she watched them. "I’m so jealous. This is great, now you have a perfectly good reason to freeload for meals."

Xiang Ling looked at her. "You guys could move in too. This place is pretty nice, not so many sketchy people around, and it’d be convenient for us to discuss business."

Xiao Yu thought for a moment, then shook her head. ’The security system here alone won’t be enough to stop my fiancé. Moving would be pointless.’

Xing Fan wouldn’t be staying here for long either, so she had no plans to move.

Seeing them decline, Xiang Ling didn’t press the issue and changed the subject. "So, where were we? How about we open in half a month? I know this part of the business well."

After a lengthy discussion, they finalized all the details. In the end, it was decided that Xiang Ling would provide the capital and oversee the renovation, Xing Fan would be in charge of the design style and materials, Xiao Yu would secure the shop, and Bai Zhi would provide the technical expertise.

Shop Name: Original Flavor.

They decided to open at the beginning of next month, which was half a month away.

After Xiao Yu confirmed the shop with her uncle, she said to the others, "Do you guys want to go see the shop first? We can still change it if it’s not suitable. Besides, Xing Fan needs to see the place to get some design inspiration, and I can show you all around the area."

Bai Zhi nodded at her words. ’After all, this is my first business venture here. I should take it seriously.’

Xiang Ling nodded. "Alright, let’s all go together."

Bai Zhi grabbed the keys to her Flying Sports Car, then remembered something and turned back to ask, "Do any of you know how to drive a Flying Sports Car?"

Xiang Ling glanced at the four of them. "Will a Flying Sports Car even fit all of us? Maybe we should take my flying device."

Bai Zhi’s lips curved into a smirk as she said calmly, "It’s fine. My car is big enough for all of us."

She twirled the key around her index finger. ’I may not know how to drive it, but you can’t argue with the fact that it’s huge.’

The Beastmen who had been waiting outside for hours hadn’t seen Bai Zhi emerge, but they did encounter an unexpected new group of people.

There weren’t many of them, only three, but they looked very cautious. After spotting the Beastmen and exchanging a brief glance, they looked down at their Light Computers and quickly left.

Wu Jiang found it strange. They seemed vaguely familiar, but they didn’t look like the usual gamblers from the casino. These people gave off the feeling that they had blood on their hands.

The casino folks were only ever thinking about how to win back their losses. And while they’d do anything for a bet, they were different from this new group. The gamblers acted on impulse, in the heat of the moment. These guys, on the other hand, seemed like they did this sort of thing for a living. There was a murderous aura in their eyes.

But he had no more time to dwell on it, because he saw a Flying Sports Car drive out from the estate.

And Bai Zhi was sitting inside!

The moment Lao Wu got a clear look at Bai Zhi, his eyes went wide and he started slapping Wu Jiang’s arm. "Boss! B-Bai Zhi!!"

Wu Jiang’s face darkened. He watched helplessly as Bai Zhi’s Flying Sports Car passed right in front of them. Grinding his back teeth, he snapped, "I see her!"

Lao San smacked them, his scar twisting viciously with the movement. "What are you gawking at? Hurry up and follow them!"

Lao Si said blankly, "But she’s in a Flying Sports Car. It takes a different route than us. Should we still follow?"

Wu Jiang received a message, glanced at it, and said, "They’re headed toward the central district. Get in the car."

"Boss, how did you know..." Lao Si trailed off, then smacked his forehead. "Oh! So that’s why you had Second Brother stay back! No wonder you left him out here by himself!"

"Keep talking and they’ll get away!" Lao San shoved him from behind, pushing him into the Hovercar.

Bai Zhi and the others soon arrived in the central district. The shop Xiao Yu’s uncle had gotten for them was in the area with the highest foot traffic.

After parking the flying device, the four of them got out.

The original owner of her body used to live some distance from the central district, so this was Bai Zhi’s first time in the area since she arrived. Grand Domain Estate was close to the central district, with all sorts of resources concentrated within a few kilometers.

The central district was noticeably more crowded.

Xiao Yu led them to the shop she’d mentioned. It was across from the central district’s largest shopping mall, where almost all the foot traffic was concentrated.

The shop was about forty to fifty square meters.

It wasn’t considered large for this area, but it wasn’t small either.

One look was all it took for Bai Zhi to decide what to do with it. ’The storefront isn’t very large. If we make it a restaurant, we won’t be able to fit many tables. It’s not very deep, but it is wide. With the high foot traffic in this location, we can sell something like grilled snacks. They’re fast to make and don’t require seating. It’ll be a quick way to recoup our investment.’

Bai Zhi nodded. "This will work."

Then, Xiang Ling also gave it a once-over with her business-savvy eyes and nodded. "The location’s great, just a little small."

Bai Zhi smiled. "I think this size is fine. It would be even better if it were ten or twenty square meters smaller."
