Chapter 236: Chapter 236: I’M DOING WELL,MR TANG
Guiying curled up on the living room sofa, phone in hand, leisurely scrolling through the final replies to the two brands that had reached out for potential collaborations.
Both meetings had now been firmly scheduled for later that week, neatly squeezed around tomorrow morning’s important Tong-Shu meeting.
He placed the phone down against his knee, a satisfied smile touching his lips, just as Old Li appeared at the doorway with a clean cloth draped over his arm.
"Young Master, Luixian’s lunch is ready," Old Li announced, lifting the neatly packed thermal container. A faint wisp of fragrant steam still escaped from the lid’s seam, carrying the subtle aroma of carefully simmered dishes. "I was about to have Haiyan deliver it to the office."
Guiying sat up straight, already reaching out. "No need, I’ll deliver it myself. I already promised him you see."
Old Li’s eyebrows rose slightly, a knowing, teasing glint appearing in his aged eyes as he handed over the container. "Delivering it personally, ah? How diligent."
"He hasn’t been eating properly lately." Guiying hugged the warm container to his chest and stood, his brows furrowing with concern. "When we were at the hospital together, Cousin Yanchen specifically warned that his gastritis had flared up again. He needs close monitoring these next few days. I must make sure he actually eats this time instead of letting it sit untouched on his desk while he drowns in work."
Old Li nodded approvingly, following him toward the entrance. "Wise decision. There’s an old saying, feeding your husband good food makes him more obedient. It’s an old trick, but an effective one. Especially with alphas. A full stomach can soften even the most iron-hearted of men."
Guiying let out a soft laugh, shaking his head as he slipped on his shoes. "I’ll keep that in mind."
"You already know it works well," Old Li chuckled. "Just look at how tenderly the Master treats you."
Guiying was still smiling faintly when Haiyan’s car stopped in front of Liu Corporation’s main entrance less than an hour later. The lobby had become familiar territory; the front desk staff no longer asked for identification, simply nodding respectfully and waving him through toward the private elevators.
He was halfway across the marble lobby when a familiar voice called out from behind.

"Mr. Tang?"
Guiying turned and saw Zi Sihan standing near the elevators, a folder tucked under his arm. He wore a simple, neatly ironed button-up shirt and slacks, with an employee badge clipped to his collar.
It had been several months since they last met, shortly after the court case concluded.
The change in Sihan was striking, he looked healthier, calmer, the perpetual tension that once weighed down his shoulders now gone.
"Sihan?" Genuine surprise lit up Guiying’s face. "You work here now?"
"Since last month," Sihan replied with a shy smile. "Administrative department. I was just about to go upstairs to deliver these documents to President Liu. I didn’t expect to run into you."
"Neither did I." Guiying gestured toward the elevator. "Let’s go up together. It’s been a while, we should catch up properly."
They rode the elevator together and entered Liuxian’s office. Liuxian himself was still finishing a meeting on another floor.
Guiying placed the thermal container on the side table and sat down. Sihan took the seat opposite him, folder resting neatly on his lap.
"How have you been?" Guiying asked warmly. "Truly. And how is your daughter?"

At the mention of his daughter, Sihan’s entire expression softened, like winter snow melting under spring sunlight.
"She’s doing very well. She started at a daycare in the neighborhood that ORF helped me secure. It’s in a good area, very suitable for children, and the other parents have been kind to us." His voice trembled slightly with emotion. "I have full custody now... and alimony. I never dared to dream of any of this."
"That’s wonderful," Guiying said sincerely, warmth blooming in his chest.
"Liao Changsheng’s family has stopped harassing us completely since the case closed," Sihan continued. His hands trembled faintly in his lap. "He received a life sentence with no possibility of parole. We will never have to worry about him again."
He looked up, eyes glistening with unshed tears. "None of this would have been possible without you, Mr. Tang. You took a slap meant for me that day. You believed me when almost no one else would. I will never forget your kindness to me and my daughter. I am determined to work hard here and prove myself worthy of the opportunity you and ORF gave me."
Guiying reached over and gently patted his arm. "You don’t owe me anything, Sihan. As long as you and your daughter are living well and peacefully, that is enough for me. If you ever need help, you have my number. Don’t hesitate to use it."
Sihan quickly wiped his eyes and nodded, visibly moved. "Thank you... truly."
A few minutes later, the office door opened. Liuxian walked in, already loosening his tie with one hand as he strode toward his desk. He paused briefly upon seeing the two of them, then gave a small nod, allowing Sihan to finish his business.
Sihan immediately stood, straightening the folder before presenting it. "President Liu, these three documents require your signature before the end of day, they are the vendor renewal contracts for the Lianhua branch. These two are quarterly reports from the regional offices for your review at your convenience. And this one needs your approval before it goes to the legal department," he paused, "...it’s the lease amendment for the downtown property."
Liuxian glanced over the tabs efficiently and nodded. "Leave them on the desk. I’ll handle them after lunch."
"Understood." Sihan placed the folder down carefully, then turned to Guiying with a respectful bow. "It was good to see you again, Mr. Tang."

"Take care of yourself, Sihan."
The door closed softly behind him.
Liuxian’s gaze shifted to the thermal container on the side table, a faint trace of territorial possessiveness flickering beneath his usual calm and indifferent expression.
"You actually came," he said.
"I said I would." Guiying stood up, picked up the container, and placed it directly on the desk in front of him. "Eat properly this time. Cousin Yanchen said you need to be careful these next few days, remember?"
The corner of Liuxian’s lips curved slightly as he pushed the folder aside to make space. "I remember. Then... will you feed me? My hands are occupied."
"Of course."
And that was how Guiying ended up sitting sideways on Liuxian’s lap a few minutes later, thermal container balanced in one hand, chopsticks in the other, feeding him bite by bite between signatures.
Liuxian continued working steadily, his pen moving across the documents, yet the faint, satisfied curve at the corner of his mouth revealed exactly how little he minded the "interruption."
Outside the office, Zhang Wei stood frozen in the hallway, an enormous stack of files balanced precariously in his arms, staring at the firmly closed door as if it had become his greatest enemy.
He still had a mountain of urgent documents that desperately needed the Chairman’s signature before the end of the day.
Under no circumstances... was he going anywhere near that door right now
