Chapter 310: Journey Across the Kingdom

Violet flew through the sky at a rapid pace. Besides her in the air flew a emerald green dragon whilst atop their large backs huddled numerous figures. These were naturally the former slaves that they had reduced from the dragon farm whilst the green dragon was Andrea, formerly the personal dragon of the city lord of Sonantis.

Below both dragons they held a large platform, Violet’s was made from ice whilst Andreas was made from vines.

Inside these platform rested the infant and young dragons rescued alongside the former slaves.

It had been just over one week since they left Sonantis. During that time they had flown nearly the entire time, only stopping when they desperately needed rest or food.

They could not fly nearly as fast or as high as they would have preferred to go, simply due to the nature of the people that they carried.

The former slaves and young dragons were simply too weak to be able to withstand the incredible speeds that these two dragons could reach.

Instead they maintained an easy pace, it was still faster than anyone with the two dragons other than Luna could achieve, yet for the two dragons it was not that hard to maintain for prolonged periods of time.

After leaving Somantis they had ventured north, aiming to avoid any of the larger cities of the Kingdom which tended to prefer the southern side of the peninsula that the Kingdom resided within.

The Continent they resided on was nearly entirely dominated by the Endless Forest. It spanned from the Westernmost point of the continent all the way to the far east, the Wild Continent was a truly massive landmass stretching nearly 10,000km east to west and 5,000km north to south.

In the east however, a peninsula extended out, the forest had not yet spread into this location leaving it as the perfect location for the humans to reside and grow.

Now whilst it was only a peninsula, it was still a truly massive area of land. Extending around 2,000km.

With that in mind the two dragons knew that they had a significant amount of land to traverse, hence why they almost never stopped in their rush to leave the country.

They were not necessarily afraid of running into normal soldiers or being seen by the population. Between the two dragons and Luna they would likely destroy the average city by themselves.

They were worried that if they were discovered a sovereign would be dispatched to deal with them. That would be something that they would not be able to take lightly.

Whilst they were confident in being able to escape with their own lives, after all not many things could catch up to a dragon in flight. They were worried about their passengers.

They, unlike the three powerhouses were weak, they would not be able to survive an army, let alone a sovereign determined to kill or stop them.

As such they had focused on avoiding all human activity as they rushed forwards to reach the Endless Forest.

Now that was not to say that they had not gotten involved in some battles during their journey.

Quite the opposite actually.

The three girls, Violet, Luna and Andrea were all well aware of how weak their passengers were, so they were quite determined to enable them to grow during their journey.

As they flew they would keep an eye out for any appropriately leveled beasts down below. If they spotted one such group they would promptly inform their passengers and let them know that they would be able to fight if they chose to.

The dragons naturally all jumped at the chance to whet their claws and fangs, tired from being cooped up on their platforms for so long they eagerly rushed into ever battle presented to them.

The former slaves were more of a mixed bunch.

Some of them were simply too old or too averse to fighting to want to join in with the young dragons. They did not judge these people or force them into battle, simply allowing them to stay back and observe the fight.

Luna generally took the roll of guardian during these impromptu battles, given her ability to teleport and heal she was able to ensure that none died.

Violet meanwhile acted as the general for the dragons, she would direct them on how to engage, who should target who and more.

They tried to assist them all equally yet a couple of the young dragons caught their attention.

One was a yellow scaled dragon called Sylus, he held a natural affinity to acid, able to cover his scales in it and shoot out jets of corrosive liquid. He was a mage type like Violet, something which was apparently quite rare amongst the dragons raised in captivity.

The second was a boisterous young dragon named Noel. She was quite the opposite to Sylus, she held some affinity towards Earth magic. She preferred to be on the front line, charging directly into her foes and tearing them apart with tooth and claw.

Together the two of them often acted as the on battle captains. Each of them commanding the mele and ranged fighters respectively.

In turn they also grew the fastest.

In fact just this morning both dragons had reached level 40 and had begun to evolve into their adolescent stage in tier 3.

They had decided to keep flying for some time whilst they stayed wrapped in their evolutionary eggs. Yet when they felt the fluctuations coming from them both Violet and Andrea moved down to land.

Luna quickly moved the two eggs away from the rest of the dragons, giving them space to compete their evolution. At the same time everyone else disembarked and instantly went about preparing food.

It was only early evening but they were going to spend the night here to allow the newly evolved tier 3 dragons time to adjust to their new bodies.

Speaking of new bodies. After surpassing level 130 and reaching high tier 4 they had grown in both size and strength.

Violet had reached 20 meters long whilst Luna reached 8 meters in length. They had both grown slightly taller as well. In addition to this they had gained a flat +35 to all stats now that they had passed into the final stage of lordship.

Violet had also finally decided to absorb the strange void core she bough from the auction. It had been quite the delectable treat for the dragon and had provided her with some solid ideas on how to go about developing her own domain in the future. But in addition to that it had also given her quite the boost in stats, providing 20 to all stats and a full 40 to intelligence.

As everyone got themselves settled in for the night the sounds of cracking eggs rang out. Violet and Andrea instantly moved over whilst Luna kept watch over everyone else.

The first to emerge from their evolution egg was Noel. Her brown speckled egg fracturing and splintering apart in a sparkle of magical light.

What emerged was a brown scaled dragon, with golden highlights running down her body like veins of magic. She was between 5-6 meters in length from snout to tail.

She had well defined muscles that stood proud along her body, displaying her impressive physique and physical combat focus. She emerged on slightly unsteady steps, quickly regaining her ballence though.

Once stable again she first looked at her surrounds, then raised her head up high and let loose a powerful roar.

As she was roaring the second egg also fully broke apart and revealed Sylus with his much leaner body. He was still clad in his yellow scales and now stood just a touch smaller than Noel at just under 5m in length.

He did not take long before he too let loose his roar of triumph at successfully evolving. The two tier 4 dragons gave the freshly evolved tier 3’s some time to show off to their kin.

Yet when Violet saw Sylus try to push around one of the smaller dragons, still in tier 1 she was less than kind in her rebuke.

She appeared standing directly over the infant facing towards Sylus. The yellow dragon froze in place with one paw raised, he slowly looked up, and up, and up until he finally met Violet’s cold eyes.

His previous bravado near instantly disappeared and his tail tucked itself back between his legs as his head lowered to the ground in utter submission.

Violet snorted at that and then proceeded to ’spar’ with the energetic dragon in a showcase of why it is a stupid idea to try and bull anyone that is currently under her explicit care. That ’training’ lasted until dinner was served, upon which time Luna had to come over and administer some basic healing to enable Sylus to move.

Violet was quite confident that he wouldn’t cause any more trouble after that!
