Chapter 647: Chapter 647: I remember you now_1

The ghost slowly nodded, indicating its willingness to follow Qin Sisi away.

Qin Sisi gave Ye You a meaningful look. Ye You lifted his claw towards the ghost and gently grasped in its direction. The ghost immediately turned into a stream of white smoke, flying into Ye You’s hand and was taken into the Portable Space.

Having settled the issue of the ghost, Qin Sisi let out a sigh of relief and quickly walked over to Wu Menglei’s side. She nudged his arm and called his name twice, but Wu Menglei remained unresponsive, his eyes tightly closed.

Qin Sisi had no choice but to look at Ye You for help. Wu Menglei was knocked out by the ghost’s Spiritual Power, so waking him up might not be straightforward. It would have to be Ye You’s task.

Wu Menglei’s condition was not serious. The ghost’s Spiritual Power had merely knocked him out, he should be fine after a few hours’ sleep. However, Ye You was not willing to let Qin Sisi stay with Wu Menglei for that long.

So he immediately raised his claw, gathered a stream of blue light, and shot it towards Wu Menglei’s forehead, using magic to wake him up.

Soon, Wu Menglei blearily opened his eyes. The first thing he saw was a bright and distinct face. The luminescent large eyes were particularly impressive, stirring a faint sense of familiarity and strangeness.

"Master... Qin?" Wu Menglei’s memory was quite good. He quickly recalled that this was the mage who had once saved his life, but he only knew her surname, Qin, and did not know her exact name.

Qin Sisi nodded and asked, "How do you feel?"

Wu Menglei shook his head, raised his hand to rub his temple’s location, and replied in a soft voice, "I’m fine, just a bit dizzy."

After he spoke, Wu Menglei lifted his head and looked around, asking somewhat anxiously, "Where is Jia Yuan? Is she okay?"

Qin Sisi gave him a glance, her voice carried a cold edge as she asked, "Didn’t you say you don’t like her? Why the concern?"

She was fully aware that matters of the heart couldn’t be forced. Yet, it was hard not to hold a grudge against Wu Menglei when she thought about how that innocent and sweet girl Ding Jia Yuan nearly caused a catastrophe due to her infatuation with him.

Wu Menglei’s eyes flickered for a moment, then he replied, "I care for her because all this happened because of me. Also, she is my classmate’s sister. I can care for her and love her like a brother would, but the kind of affection she wants, I truly cannot give."

Wu Menglei’s answer was courteous and composed, his tone very firm. It seemed that he truly didn’t have affection for her.

Qin Sisi was silent for a moment, and then said, "She’s fine, her brother took her home."

"Then I can rest assured." Wu Menglei breathed a sigh of relief and rose to his feet, leaning on a wall.

Once he was steady, he asked Qin Sisi, "Master Qin, what exactly happened just now? Why did I faint?"

Qin Sisi blinked and replied, "That’s a question I should be asking you. When I arrived, you had already fainted."

Wu Menglei tried hard to recall the events, and then narrated, "She called me urgently to see her. I was afraid she would do something irrational so I came over. I live quite near here. When I entered I saw Jia Yuan sitting on the bed, and I tried convincing her to go home. All of a sudden, she lifted her head to look at me and placed her palm on my head. Suddenly I felt dizzy, and then I simply don’t remember anything after that."

Qin Sisi nodded slightly, as per her guesses, the sequence of events most likely took place as described.

After a moment’s thought, she said to Wu Menglei, "Jia Yuan inadvertently came into contact with something unclean. I have helped her dispel it, she won’t have any problems in the future."

"Okay, then I’m relieved." Wu Menglei’s face was kind, his tone sincere, without any trace of deceit. It seemed like he genuinely cared about Ding Jia Yuan.

Qin Sisi considered for a moment, and then said to Wu Menglei, "Since you don’t like Ding Jia Yuan, for both of your sakes, I think you should stay away from her."

Wu Menglei paused, and with a bitter smile he said, "I have never actively approached her."

Qin Sisi felt somewhat awkward and cleared her throat, "Okay, I understand. I’ll figure out a way to handle Jia Yuan’s situation, but I still hope you can try not to see her again. Even if she pleads, don’t agree. Sometimes, being decisive is the greatest kindness."

Wu Menglei paused for a moment, then replied, "Okay, I’ll keep that in mind."

"Since there’s nothing else, I’ll take you home." Qin Sisi offered, now that everything was settled, there was no need to linger.

Wu Menglei nodded, straightened his clothes, and left Rugui Hotel with Qin Sisi.

His house was nearby, so he had come on foot while Qin Sisi had come in Ding Jiawang’s car, but now Ding Jiawang had already taken Ding Jia Yuan home in his car.

So, Qin Sisi and Wu Menglei were now on foot heading towards Wu Menglei’s home.

"We’re here." They hadn’t walked far when Wu Menglei stopped at the entrance of a residential complex.

Qin Sisi turned her head and looked at the entrance of the complex, and said emotionlessly, "Okay, you should head back in. I’ll be going now."

She was about to turn around when Wu Menglei suddenly shouted out to stop her, "It’s late. Is it safe for you to go back alone?"

Qin Sisi smiled, replying "Have you forgotten what I do for a living? I’m not afraid of danger."

Her smile, in Wu Menglei’s eyes, was like a ray of warm, bright sunshine dispelling darkness, and he was momentarily spellbound.

Seeing that he didn’t say anything else, Qin Sisi said "Goodbye," and turned to walk away.

"Master Qin, may I know your name?" came Wu Menglei’s smooth voice from behind.

Without thinking much, Qin Sisi turned back to answer, "Qin Sisi."

After saying this, she continued on her way into the vast night.

"Qin Sisi," Wu Menglei repeated softly to himself. His lips curled up in a light smile. Speaking in a voice only he himself could hear he said, "I’ll remember you, the beautiful mage who saved me twice."

Ye You, who had been nestled in Qin Sisi’s arms, lifted his head to glance at the gradually blurring figure of Wu Menglei, who was still standing at the entrance of his complex, quietly watching the direction in which Qin Sisi had left.

Ye You turned his head to look at Qin Sisi, only to find her expression calm, apparently unaffected by any disturbance. He couldn’t help but feel a bit conflicted. Should he say something as a heads-up?

After turning a corner, Qin Sisi disappeared from Wu Menglei’s sight. She breathed a sigh of relief and said to Ye You, "Let’s fly back."

Ye You snapped back to his senses, nodded, and quickly activated the Invisible Bubble.

Immediately after, Qin Sisi summoned the Wings of Rainbow, spread her vibrant wings, and soared towards the direction of her home. Her face shone brightly under the radiance, showing a hint of determination and stubbornness in her eyebrows.

Ye You swallowed back the words he had been on the verge of saying for a long time.

No need to worry, since her heart was unperturbed, he reckoned why should he make a fuss about it?

What could the feelings they had built, through experiencing hardships together all this time, compare to an ordinary Wu Menglei?

Ye You let out a self-deprecating laugh inside his heart, then gently rubbed his furry head within Qin Sisi’s arms.
