Chapter 53: Chapter 53: The Crying from 22nd Floor_1
Qin Sisi couldn’t help but marvel, "This cloak feels like it generates its own heat."
Ye You chuckled lightly, "That’s right, it does produce its own heat."
"Really?" Qin Sisi gasped in disbelief, even though she could feel the warmth spreading through the cloak. Still, she found it hard to believe.
Ye You patiently explained, "This is made from the silk of the Icefield Black Rose spider. Not only is it light and sturdy, but it also miraculously keeps a steady temperature of around twenty-three degrees."
Qin Sisi remembered reading in a book that twenty-three degrees is the most comfortable temperature for humans. The fact that this material can maintain such a temperature without fluctuating was truly astonishing.
Then, Qin Sisi realized a phrase Ye You had said: Icefield Black Rose spider silk. After a few moments, Qin Sisi was shocked once again. "Are you saying that the Icefield Black Rose is a kind of spider? And this cloak is made from its silk?"
"Yes." Ye You answered Qin Sisi’s question swiftly, with a hint of pride in his voice. After all, he had personally caught the Icefield Black Rose spiders from the Northern Wasteland Tundra that made this cloak.
Qin Sisi involuntarily tugged at the cloak she was wearing. She never imagined that spider silk could be used to make clothing, and such unique clothing at that. Her mind was filled with curiosity about any other fantastic and intriguing things that might exist in the Demon Sacred Realm that Ye You spoke of.
Then, there came a "meow" from nearby, particularly crisp in the quiet, dark night.
Ye You also let out a "meow," as if he was responding.
Soon, a grey cat came sprinting over, leaping into the pavilion and standing before Ye You. After a few meows, it ran out of the pavilion and turned to look at Ye You.
Ye You swiftly jumped onto Qin Sisi’s shoulder before saying, "We’ve found Da Hua. Follow her."
Qin Sisi acknowledged him and quickly summoned the Wings of Rainbow. She then followed Da Hua, flying quickly.
The cat reached the gate of a small residential community. It was quiet, and the electric gate was closed. However, for the cat, it seemed to mean nothing as it skillfully scaled the metal gate and easily landed inside in just a few seconds.
Qin Sisi watched in admiration, a light smile on her face. She then flew over the electric gate with the Wings of Rainbow.
Once inside, Qin Sisi noticed a cat waiting for her. The cat approached them when it saw Da Hua and Qin Sisi, or more specifically, when it saw Ye You. It meowed a few times and then ran down the road.
Both Da Hua and Qin Sisi followed the cat closely.
As she was flying, Qin Sisi took a moment to observe the community. High-rise buildings were densely packed, with spacious roads interspersed between them. There were decorative trees planted on the sides and parks, green spaces, fitness equipment, and artificial lakes in between the buildings. Indeed, it met Ye You’s speculation that it was a high-end community.
In the end, both cats stopped in front of a building, where two other cats were stationed.
Ye You jumped down from Qin Sisi’s shoulder onto the ground, where a group of cats was fervently meowing, seemingly having a meeting.
After the "meeting," except for Ye You, the rest of the cats quickly darted into the flower bed and disappeared into the dark.
Ye You looked up at the tall building before jumping back onto Qin Sisi’s shoulder. "Let’s go up. It’s the twenty-second floor."
"What?" Qin Sisi gasped. She remembered the last time she flew to the tenth floor to find Xiu Ai at Song Ziheng’s place. She felt desperate. That time, she had used all her strength, but this time, the height was nearly double. How could she possibly achieve that?
Qin Sisi made a bitter face, looking expectantly at Ye You.
Ye You could barely suppress a laugh. He quite enjoyed the dependence Qin Sisi was showing him unknowingly.
Ye You encouraged her, "Just try it. If you can’t do it, you still have me."
Since she had Ye You backing her up, there was no need to worry. Qin Sisi took several deep breaths and controlled the Wings of Rainbow, gradually rising into the air.
Perhaps she benefited from her previous experience. This time, flying to the tenth floor didn’t feel too exhausting. But continuing upward was more difficult. As she ascended, her breath grew heavier and perspiration started to bead on her forehead. Her body began to tremble slightly.
By the time she reached the seventeenth floor, she could no longer flutter the Wings of Rainbow due to exhaustion. Without the upward force, gravity took over, and she swayed momentarily, on the brink of plummeting.
In an instant, a bright silver light flashed, and just like on the day she sprained her ankle, she and Ye You found themselves enveloped in a semi-transparent silver light bubble. The bubble gently levitated them higher.
Qin Sisi, still panicking, leaned against the edge of the light bubble. Laughing weakly, she placed a hand over her chest, "That scared me."
Ye You sat inside the light bubble, his purple eyes unwavering as they met Qin Sisi’s, "Sisi, like I said, you don’t have to worry about anything when I’m around."
At that moment, Qin Sisi’s heart swayed, as if it was on a swing, soaring up into the air so high that it took a long time to settle down.
As their eyes met and their gaze lingered, neither could evade or resist.
Suddenly, a loud baby’s cry split the night air, interrupting their mutual affection.
Qin Sisi’s expression changed, and she instinctively glanced upwards. They should be almost at the twenty-second floor.
Ye You’s purple eyes deepened, and he secretly exerted more effort. The light bubble sped up, and they quickly reached the window of the twenty-second floor. At around two in the morning, most people were sleeping soundly, but this apartment was brightly lit. And the baby’s cry was coming from this apartment.
Qin Sisi carefully held onto the window ledge. Luckily, it wasn’t locked, probably because there were people inside.
With the protection of the Invisible Bubble, she deftly opened the window and jumped into the balcony. As she was about to open the balcony door to the living room, Ye You suddenly said, "Hurry up, the Invisible Bubble doesn’t last much longer."
Qin Sisi responded, her brow furrowed and anxiety clawing at her.
Trying not to waste any more time, she gritted her teeth and cautiously opened the door, slipping through before carefully sneaking behind the curtains and into the room.
The inhabitants of the house seemed too busy to notice any difference at the window.
However, when Qin Sisi finally stood in the brightly lit room, the scene in front of her left her frozen in shock.
