Chapter 95: Chapter 83 Second Brother Ais

"What is the Engraving Technique!?" Long Yi asked.

The Dean pondered for a moment before slowly answering, "Normally, you wouldn’t be permitted to know about this. But since you’re the victim, there’s no harm in telling you. Besides, knowing your personality, you would definitely find out yourself."

From ancient times, learning and training are indispensable for gaining power. But not everyone is suitable for studying. Some people with battle talents lose their chances of becoming top-level experts due to their poor learning abilities, which inevitably brings about regret. Therefore, magic research institutes in all countries have always been trying to find a way to acquire knowledge without studying. By researching the Dragon Clan and Elven Clan’s methods of passing down knowledge, they were inspired to develop the Engraving Technique.

The so-called Engraving Technique is a magic that forcefully imprints packaged information into a person’s mind. The person’s brain will automatically sort out this information during normal times, and as they sort out different information, they will acquire the corresponding knowledge.

And Long Yi, was subjected to the Engraving Technique. The information presumably imposed on him involves heading out alone to outskirts and other secluded places when nobody’s attention is on him. Perhaps there were even clues prompting him to forget how he got there.

It has to be said that this technique is incredibly suitable for assassination, as the targeted individual would be completely unaware. If Long Yi’s vigilant nature hadn’t overridden the Engraving Technique, he might not have survived.

However, not everyone is an ideal candidate for the Engraving Technique.

Firstly, the individual’s mental strength needs to be robust enough to prevent the Engraving Technique from affecting the subject while sorting out knowledge. Secondly, the subject must have a basic understanding of the engraved knowledge to prevent the sudden influx of strange knowledge from causing their cognitive framework to collapse.

After being exposed to the Engraving Technique once, a permanent mark would be left, visible at the back of the person’s eye, which was how the Dean discovered that Long Yi was a victim of the Engraving Technique.

"Then, how can I undo this Engraving Technique?" Now understanding the existence of the Engraving Technique, Long Yi didn’t quite fancy it, as he felt it was akin to force-feeding a duck.

"There’s no way to undo it. Theoretically speaking, the Engraving Technique is more like a surgery which you can only wait for your body to heal itself from. It cannot be removed," the Dean replied.

"Then, can I figure out what information they left?" Long Yi inquired.

"That’s possible. We can induce the Engraving Technique to reveal itself, but it may cause pain," the Dean said.

"Bring it on." Even though Long Yi feared pain, he was more upset about the mysterious Engraving Technique potentially leaving him with side effects. If he unconsciously became a spy, he would be at a loss to defend himself.

The Dean nodded. He didn’t expect Long Yi to volunteer for induction right away without even a second thought.

"Let’s begin!"

The Dean’s eyes shot two white beams directly into Long Yi’s eyes. Long Yi was momentarily stunned before his muscles tensed and his body began to violently tremble. In just a blink of an eye, his face turned blood-red!

When the light faded, Long Yi’s body suddenly tipped forward, almost losing balance. The Dean was about to lend a hand, but Long Yi managed to regain his footing.

"Dean, you nearly killed me. This is hardly ’slightly painful’, it feels like death itself!"

Long Yi shook his head vigorously to clear the dizziness brought on by the intense pain. This pain was much more intense than the sensation of dying.

The Dean gave a bitter smile in silence. As a dragon, this really was just a ’minor pain’ to him.

"How was it?" asked the Dean, abruptly switching to a different subject instead of commenting on the pain.

"Not bad, I think it might be better to keep that engraving!"

Long Yi chuckled.

It turned out that when the Dean worked his magic, Long Yi had entered a bizarre state where he could witness his brain processing information. This was in the form of an extremely mysterious method, not seeing neurotransmitters’ exchange.

Then, he saw the engraved information. Part of it was directing him to quietly head here when nobody was around. But Long Yi was pleasantly surprised to find that this engraved information had somehow integrated with his Giant inheritance knowledge. The Engraving Technique was originally a magic created in imitation of the inheritance. This integration led to a slight disruption in his Giant inheritance and some knowledge leaked out from the integration point. Although Long Yi was currently unsure of the specific knowledge that had leaked, given some time, he would definitely be able to grasp it.

Of course, there was no way Long Yi could directly tell the Dean about all this. He simply stated that the Engraving had left him with some useful knowledge. The Dean didn’t press further for details. After all, it was information Engraved in Long Yi’s brain – if Long Yi wanted to lie about it, no one would know. Moreover, with current technology, there was no way to erase the Engraved information. All that could be done was to leave it as is.

There was no point in dragging things out further. The Dean handed his cloak to Long Yi to wrap around himself. It was already late into the night, and the school was quiet. Long Yi returned to his dorm without waking anyone. When he arrived, he saw Bajie, who rushed towards him sobbing, and licked him all over till he was covered in slobber.

Due to their contract, both Bajie and the Shadow Dragon had sensed the danger Long Yi was in. However, Long Yi was too far away from Bajie for either of them to sense his exact location clearly. Therefore Bajie, not knowing where Long Yi was, could only fret and pace around anxiously in the dorm room. Luckily, the dorm room had a soundproofing Array, preventing others from being disturbed.

Feeling the concern from Bajie, Long Yi was quite moved. In fact, if he were to unleash all his power and evolve Bajie now, Long Yi was confident enough to brawl with that mysterious black-clothed man today.

Actually, Long Yi sometimes wished to give up this method of cultivation altogether, as it was perilous both for him and Bajie. However, he held himself back, knowing the path he had chosen was the right one. If he really was so desperate for power, how could he possibly have given ’that thing’ to Elsa!

Nope, that’s not the way Long Yi seeks power.

He had his own martial path!

Take a bath!

Eat!

Sleep!

For the mission, for Bajie, for Xiaoyou, for Elsa, for Ai Lin, and more importantly, for himself! Starting from tomorrow, he was going to train hard!

Unfortunately, even though Long Yi has prepared a study plan, he still had to attend classes. After struggling to the end of the school day and having dinner, Long Yi and Ai Lin didn’t return to the dormitory. Instead, they went straight to the second-year training ground.

In fact, this special training was not only for Long Yi. He already had his own training style and system, which he just needed to follow. More intensive training was meant for Ai Lin. Since Ai Lin was a magic fighter, she could not use the Dragon-slaying sword. Nor could she use any elegant magic wand. Close-quarters combat was obviously dangerous for her. Ever since Ai Lin had fused with her dragon, the enemies she faced were far too weak. Ai Lin had not experienced what real threats were. Long Yi thought it was necessary to intensify Ai Lin’s training so that she could be well-prepared for the imminent danger.

However, when they arrived at the training ground, they saw a man training with a sword, back facing them. He was bare-chested, his body covered in sweat. The Dragon-slaying sword in his hand chopped down again and again, each time stopping at the exact same spot! There was another similar sword stuck in the grass beside him.

"Cool!"

Even Long Yi, who usually held himself in high esteem, couldn’t help but shout ’cool’. He had never seen someone wielding a sword with such style in his two lifetimes. The control of force was simply perfect!

"This guy is surely a sicko."

Long Yi murmured.

"Why?" Ai Lin asked, looking puzzled.

You see, every time he swings his sword, he insists on stopping at the exact same spot. That’s theoretically and practically impossible, yet he persists in practicing this way. What does this indicate? It indicates that he is cruel to himself and will be even more cruel to others! He will certainly impose his own standards on others, using such impractical standards on them. If this isn’t sick, what is?"

Thus, Long Yi explained.

"Brother Long, if I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes, I would’ve thought you knew my Second Brother!"

Ai Lin’s eyes sparkled, Long Yi was spot-on!

"Of course, you underestimate my keen eye... Ah? Is this your second brother?"

By then, the man had put down his Dragon-slaying sword and turned around. Sure enough, he had a handsome face, extraordinarily akin to Ai Lin’s, impressive and attractive! However, his face was as stony as an iron plate, with almost no expression.

"Second Brother!"

Ai Lin ran over happily to greet him, her cheeks flushed. It seemed that the siblings had a good relationship. Nevertheless, the man’s face remained stony, but a hint of tenderness flickered in his eyes.

Lorem Born Warrior!

"Hello, Second Brother! Second Brother, you are so cool! Second Brother, do you need a towel? Second Brother, are you thirsty?" The ever-honest Long Yi hurried over, beaming from ear to ear.

"Quit fooling around, Brother Long. Let me introduce you. This is my second brother, Ais. He’s only one year older than me but he’s already in the six grade! He’s even reached the 19th level of Fighting Aura. At home, my second brother always takes care of me, we get along very well!" Ai Lin spoke while laughing, this was her first time seeing Long Yi acting this way. But she was not aware that this was a sign of guilt from Long Yi, who couldn’t admit in front of Ai Lin that he ’labeled her good friend second brother as a sicko’. Little did she realize that she was actually thinking the same as Long Yi.

"Of course, of course, I can tell at a glance that your Second Brother is a divine being descended to earth. So handsome, so charming, so enchanting, so manly....."

Long Yi went on and on in praise of Ais. This was once the specialty of one of his comrades in their airborne squad. He could go on for half an hour without repeating himself. In the past, Long Yi had admired this skill to the extent that he memorized it word for word. He didn’t expect it to finally come in handy.

Moreover, it was not just flattery on Long Yi’s part. This Ais truly exceeded Long Yi in looks and physique. He was sturdy and fit, not like those lean shapes that are popular in this era.[][Oh, a small explanation. The errors in Chapter 80 and 81 were due to the server delay... Especially when viewed on a mobile, the delay was longer. The corrections were made before the Chapter was even published. Hehe~]
