Chapter 94: Chapter 82 White Dragon
At first, the man in black was confident that his power alone could instantly kill Long Yi. In fact, Long Yi quite understood the man’s thought. Even as a spy, he had completely infiltrated into the core magic research institute of the White Dragon Empire and was admired by thousands. However, his most critical mission was ruined by Long Yi, a dumb big son of a blacksmith who popped out of nowhere. He had not only failed the mission, but also lost a leg to barely escape. Even for Long Yi, this was unbearable, so the man in black wanted to kill Long Yi with some mysterious means before escaping to vent his anger.
Theoretically speaking, this is not a problem. And according to common sense, Long Yi should have been dead by now, and the man in black should be on the run.
But now, Long Yi still lives well. The only loss is a set of clothes, and the man in black may not even live till tomorrow. The reason why the man in black does not directly summon the Black Dragon to fight is partly because he has confidence in his strength, and on the other hand, the Black Dragon is strictly regulated in the White Dragon Empire. Any Black Dragon in the White Dragon Empire must be registered, and without special permission, no private activities are allowed.
As expected, several giant dragons rose into the sky in Academy City, heading directly towards the direction where the Black Dragon fled.
Afterwards, two more giant dragon shadows soared into the sky, but they were heading straight for Long Yi.
Bang!
The first black dragon shadow fell, and after the dust, it was the Black Dragon Tyl.
"Kid, are you okay?"
Tyl looked at Long Yi with a smiling face. Even though the surroundings were a mess, as long as Long Yi was still alive, it could basically be defined as ’okay’.
The second dragon shadow disappeared in the air, and an old man slowly fell from the sky.
With white hair and a gray robe, it was the Dean who looked like Gandalf from the Dragon Knight Academy.
"Just now I sensed the appearance of the Black Dragon, do you know?"
The Dean asked Tyl, his eyes vigilant.
"Hehe, I have a good relationship with this little friend, don’t make wild guesses. If it wasn’t for my roar, I think this little friend might be in big trouble now."
Tyl looked at the Dean with a smile, patiently explaining.
The Dean nodded, he understood very well that with Tyl’s strength, not to mention Long Yi, even he himself may not be able to win if he takes action personally. If Tyl was involved in this matter, Long Yi probably wouldn’t even be left with a scrap in the first place.
"Do you know about the spy incident?"
The Dean asked.
"I don’t know, you’ve witnessed my oath before, I definitely won’t do anything that harms the interests of the White Dragon Empire. Don’t you believe me, don’t you even believe in your own eyes?"
Tyl still smiled, showing no sign of the formidable character he once was.
"I trust you, but you know, I have to ask."
The Dean said.
"Yes, I understand, I get it."
As he finished speaking, Tyl turned around and transformed into a cloud of black smoke, and disappeared in an instant.
The Dean watched the black smoke dissipate, a wave of inexplicable fluctuations swept around, and only when no further discovery was made did he turn his eyes to Long Yi.
"Can you keep today’s events a secret for me, for the sake of this empire?" The Dean asked, his tone not commanding, but requesting.
"You mean, I was attacked, the attacker is a spy from Black Dragon Empire, and the spy comes from the Imperial Magic Research Institute for these things which I now suddenly forgot about?"
Long Yi asked with a smile.
The Dean was taken aback at first, but then laughed: "Yes, that’s it."
But Long Yi suddenly looked puzzled: "What thing?"
The Dean shook his head, instead turning around to investigate the scene.
"This person is very powerful, almost possessing two dragon marks. I’m curious, how did you defeat him?" The Dean asked as he walked.
"A combination of luck and strength. I was very lucky, I learned to cast a spell from him, and it triggered double spellcasting twice. As a result, he was suppressed by my magic level to a very low position, and I have a talent that can double my fighting aura in a short time. Therefore, while his Black Dragon was still asleep, I gave him a hearty hook. After that, his Black Dragon woke up, I had to kick him while I had the chance, as for whether he is dead or not, I don’t know."
Long Yi explained simply .
The Dean listened and thought carefully, trying to reconstruct the scene with his own understanding. However, some parts were still difficult to explain. What puzzled him the most was how Long Yi learned to cast Dark Binding just like the opponent, suppressing the opponent’s power.
How on earth did Long Yi, with only a ninth level spell, manage to suppress the foe’s spell down to the tenth level or so? While it may be perplexing, it’s not entirely impossible for him to learn the opponent’s magic in such a short time.
"Long Yi, look out!"
The Dean began, suddenly hurling a small ball of light at Long Yi.
"Light Binding!"
The ball of light flew out at a distance, struck Long Yi, transforming into a radiant round cage. Immediately, Long Yi felt his magic sluggish. On touching the cage it felt incredibly sturdy, much stronger than steel.
"Try me now." The cage disappeared and the Dean spoke to Long Yi.
Long Yi nodded, attentively sensing the state of the Light Binding he had just experienced, and raised his hand.
"Light Binding!"
His dragon language was awkward, with no trace of mana flowing.
"Wait a moment!"
Suddenly, Long Yi raised his hand, thought for a moment, and made an inexplicable movement. The Dean, watching Long Yi’s movements, found his eyes glowing brighter. That movement was the flow of mana in the spell he had just cast!
"Try again! Light Binding!"
The Dragon language was still clumsy, but Long Yi raised his hand again, and a huge ball of light slowly formed, then flew straight at the Dean. The Dean did not dodge, waiting for the light ball to hit him. Instantly, a sparkling prison enveloped the Dean. Much larger and sturdier. The Dean was surprised to find his mana also becoming sluggish!
Long Yi, this little fellow, his magic actually ignored any opponent’s level resistance!
The Dean was delighted.
Typically, in mage battles, a mage’s level is of absolute importance. Many spells become ineffective when faced with an enemy mage of a too high level. The magic research institutes of all countries had no method for this. Of course, there were exceptions, some mages naturally possessed a peculiar talent, their spells completely ignored the level of the opponent. The effect the magic should have, will definitely take place on the enemy.
Ignoring level resistance meant that any mage, when facing them, must take every spell they cast seriously. They could no longer rely on their superior level to ignore the spell casting of the opponent! No matter how insignificant the spell might be, it could potentially decide victory or defeat at a critical moment!
And Long Yi, was obviously such a person!
"Good! Very well done!" The Dean burst into a delighted smile.
"Yeah, I feel good too." Hearing the Dean’s explanation, Long Yi chuckled. Then, he froze.
"Dean, you’re a dragon, right? As far as I know, dragons can’t use fighting aura or magic, can they?"
Yes, according to general understanding, it’s absolutely impossible for the Dragon Clan to use fighting aura or magic!
"I’m a human now," said the Dean.
"You mean, once a dragon can transform into a human, it can use Fighting Aura or magic?" Long Yi was quite surprised.
"Correct, but only us elderly dragons, nearing our death, can do that," the Dean said somewhat helplessly, but he was even more amazed by Long Yi.
Long Yi could ignore the other party’s level resistance because he was a giant! He had such an advantage! Whether it was a human or a dragon, they couldn’t escape! Earlier, Long Yi was considering whether to fabricate a similar talent. Unexpectedly, the great Dean Gandalf didn’t even need Long Yi to brainstorm, he had already made up a story for him!
"Gandalf... I mean, Dean, there’s one thing about this fight I don’t understand. Can you explain it to me?"
Long Yi asked.
"Go ahead," The Dean was in a great mood. He liked talented students, but he liked diligent, curious students even more. Long Yi had talent, but he also was diligent and inquisitive.
So Long Yi expressed his biggest doubt; how he had fallen into the trap. The only possible opportunity to be trapped would have been the strange flash of light in the office. However, Long Yi was very confident in his spiritual power, mental spells usually didn’t affect him much. Ever since that flash, until the end of the fight, if Long Yi hadn’t awakened in a dire crisis, he could’ve died without even realizing how.
"A flash of light?"
The Dean thought for a moment, then came over to Long Yi, carefully looking into his eyes. All Long Yi saw was a faint white glow in the Dean’s eyes, gently penetrating his own eyes, the light was warm but powerful.
"Engraving Technique! A technique still under experiment!"
The Dean was taken aback.
