Chapter 899: Chapter 676: Blow to Death in One Breath

"Rise for me!"

The burly man now grasped with both hands, his whole body erupting in Fighting Aura, the anchor finally moved. Yet, he was still far from lifting it!

Despite the burly man’s efforts, the incredibly heavy anchor only swayed slightly, showing no intention of rising.

Finally, breathing heavily, the burly man let go of his hold, his palms had even been rubbed raw with blisters from the excessive force he used!

"Where’s your strength? Tsk tsk, if it were half as thick as your skin, I guess you could have lifted it. Too bad, nothing but a coward after all. Come on, admit you’re a coward and I will spare you from death."

Ruosha walked over to the anchor, lifted it with one hand, and carried it on her shoulder.

Finally, some peoples’ eyes began to tremble.

The strength of that burly man was not the strongest among those present, but it definitely wasn’t weak either. Yet, the anchor that he couldn’t lift despite all his efforts was easily carried on the shoulders of the little girl.

Was this little girl’s strength truly so formidable?

No! Absolutely impossible! If Ruosha had truly lifted the anchor with her own strength, her pretty little leather shoes would have likely been ruined by now.

But at this moment, Ruosha wasn’t showing any signs of Mana or Fighting Aura, which was perplexing to the onlookers.

The burly man’s face, already red, turned utterly dark now. He had never expected to hit a snag like this here.

But to admit he was a coward? That was out of the question!

"Stop joking around, this is just playing a game with kids, who would do this on the battlefield!" the burly man said with a laugh.

"Surely a coward, so much taller than me, yet with less courage than a mouse, lacking the guts. Next time, don’t show your face if you don’t have the nerve, you spineless fellow. Whoever egged you on had such a malicious intention, knowing full well you’re a coward yet letting you come out and make a fool of yourself. Tsk tsk, even thinking about it myself makes me unable to watch," Ruosha said with a face full of mockery, handling this kind of thing far too easily.

The burly man could no longer stand being ridiculed like this.

"What exactly do you want!" the burly man roared.

"What do I want? Are you not only a coward but also shameless? You come toddling over here, spout a bunch of nonsense, fail to lift my anchor, and still won’t admit you’re a coward, now you’re asking me what I want? Didn’t you receive any formal education as a child? Were you brought up by hooligans? How can you have no shame?"

Ruosha continued her relentless mockery.

Finally, the burly man could not bear it any longer.

"I’m going to kill you, you little brat!"

With a great shout, the burly man erupted in Fighting Aura and charged at Ruosha at great speed.

"Boom!"

A massively heavy punch landed on Ruosha’s palm but felt as though it didn’t hit her hand at all, but an incredibly heavy wall instead! Ruosha held up her little hand, which didn’t even deform in the slightest.

"With your pathetic strength, you want to kill me? But it seems like this would be considered self-defense, wouldn’t it? Since you have the intent to kill me, I definitely can’t spare you."

As she spoke, Ruosha put the anchor aside, and the hand that had been blocking before was also lowered. Just then, the crowd noticed that the burly man was still holding his attack posture, his body erupting in Fighting Aura in bursts but unable to move even a bit.

"Please wait! Spare his life!"

From the direction the burly man had come from, two people suddenly leapt out and shouted together.

"Sorry, but I’m afraid that’s not possible."

Ruosha said this and blew a breath from afar at the burly man, then turned and walked away. At that moment, the two men landed next to the burly man. As they reached out to pull him, they witnessed a horrific scene unfold.

The burly man remained motionless; starting from his frontmost fist, his body turned into a cloud of blood mist from front to back!

The two men closest to the burly man also felt a sudden sharp pain and to their shock, they noticed extremely fine bloodlines appearing on their arms that had tried to pull at the burly man!

Frightened, they quickly dodged, only able to watch as the burly man disappeared before their eyes.

Finally, the place quieted down.

Whew!

The blood mist fell to the ground, leaving nothing behind, not even his armor or clothing.

Everyone forgot to breathe.

The terrifying spectacle frightened everyone out of their wits.

How could a warrior, who was not to be considered weak, be unable to withstand even a single breath from Ruosha? How was this accomplished?

All the people from the Giant camp furrowed their brows. Such a disgrace from their faction in public meant that others would certainly take advantage of the situation. Yet, no one could have imagined that a tender and adorable little girl could be so fierce! Not to mention, she actually blew a person to death with a single breath! And what was even more horrifying was that no one could tell how it was done! There was no use of Mana! No Fighting Aura at all!

How did Ruosha do it? In plain terms, it was still the manipulation of Kela Particles, only this time Ruosha had infused them into the air. The air obstructed the Giant, and likewise, it was the air that tore him apart. The air, which was almost weightless, became immensely heavy after the infusion of Kela Particles. Heaviness meant massive inertia, and the flowing air relied on this huge inertia to rip the Giant’s body apart.

That was all there was to it.

Since arriving in this middle Plane, Ruosha’s skill in manipulating Kela Particles had been growing by the day. In the Human Realm, she would never have dared to imagine that she could kill someone with a single breath, yet now she could do it with ease.

However, this technique, which seemed very simple to Ruosha, left an incredibly shocking impression in the hearts of those who were watching the scene.

The Azure Sky Empire was strong because of its military might, and its army harbored a natural reverence for martial power. Ruosha’s image as a docile little girl made those military folks completely disdainful of her. Yet, after a banquet, these proud military officers immediately realized that they had completely misread the situation. The strength of that little girl called Ruosha could simply be described as horrifying. Although most of the military officers had undergone the Iron Blood initiation, watching a Giant being blown to death by a little girl with a single breath was definitely a first in their lives.

As a direct result of this shock, a fleet that had been delayed for a long time was quickly mobilized.

However, these fleets were sent back by Ruosha.

"I have no interest in these junk vessels, you keep them for yourselves," she told the Emperor, and then, the warships had to return to their own fleets.

Having one’s source of pride called junk does not happen every day. Yet, the commanders of those fleets dared not say anything to her face. After all, it was they who had been uncooperative at first, and it was they who had eagerly sent those ships after one of theirs was killed with a single breath. Now that Ruosha scorned and rejected their offer, what could they say?

Indeed, Ruosha, in possession of Whitestar, with its incredible Ancient technology of Nightmare Knights, could she not possibly have the technology for superships?

Some military bigwigs regretted their initial arrogance, while others remained dismissive.

Even some declared that while Ruosha might be strong, the Nightmare Knights might be strong, and even Whitestar might be strong, in the grand interstellar wars, it was only the warships that were fundamental! Could your Whitestar continuously teleport? Could your Nightmare Knights possess the firepower of warships?

That was, of course, impossible!

Such a statement quickly reached Ruosha’s ears, and her response was exceedingly straightforward.

"If you disagree, then come and fight. If you don’t dare, then shut up. I don’t have time to play childish squabble games with you," she retorted.

Faced with such a characteristic remark from Ruosha, naturally, no one dared to provoke her. After all, the incident of the Giant being killed with a single breath had not passed many days ago, and since the Giant had been the instigator, his family even had no way to file a complaint on his behalf.

However, the Emperor soon prepared an opportunity for those who were dissatisfied.

Every year, the Empire’s major military regions hold a large-scale mixed combat exercise. In this Plane where almost no one dared to provoke the Azure Sky Empire, such a large-scale military exercise was the best means of maintaining the combat capability of the army.

This year, Ruosha, who had just joined the Azure Sky Empire, was naturally expected to participate.

So this gave an opportunity to all those who were discontented.

The Azure Sky Empire’s proudest claim was its fleet, deemed invincible within the Plane. Backed by the tremendous national power, a vast scale of the fleet was maintained. Although these warships were all copies of Giant technology, the performance of the warships varied greatly from nation to nation. Some countries had a very unique understanding of Giant technology, making their warships potentially more advanced in performance, but the absolute lack of numbers meant they had no possibility of contending with the Azure Sky Empire.

And so, despite the resentment from many nations, the Azure Sky Empire was indeed the undisputed number one Empire of the Plane—at least no one had dared to directly challenge it yet.

Because of this, the Azure Sky Empire was filled with a sense of extreme complacency. However, because no one dared to provoke them, compared to those smaller countries with constant conflicts, the Azure Sky Empire had not undergone a real test of war for a long time. Even when they intervened in wars deliberately, most involved parties would willingly cease fire, giving no opportunity for the Azure Sky Empire to test their fleet.

Because of this, both the Emperor and the military placed great importance on this annual exercise.

But as for the exercise, Ruosha had only one comment.

"Just kids playing house."

This one comment enraged all the military personnel, and even the Emperor himself was somewhat unable to save face. Although Ruosha was theoretically part of the Azure Sky Empire, she was, after all, not from the Empire. She did not consider herself part of the Azure Sky Empire, and neither the Emperor nor the military regarded her as one of their own.

For this reason, at the start of the exercise, Ruosha set herself against everyone, to the point that no one wanted to be on the same side as her.

"I don’t need to be with them. I’m too strong. Even as a lone third party, it would be easy to completely annihilate you," Ruosha mocked once again.

Although the Emperor was reluctant, under Ruosha’s continuous mockery, she ended up being added to the exercise as a third party. This meant that Ruosha could attack anyone, and accordingly, anyone could attack Ruosha.

In the end, the exercise began amid the pent-up anger of the officials. (To be continued. If you like this work, you are welcome to vote for it with your recommendation ticket or monthly ticket on Qidian. Your support is my greatest motivation. Mobile users, please visit m.qidian.com to read.)
