Chapter 85: Chapter 76: Again, the Third Crown Prince

"Brother Long, Brother Long, I have some exciting news to share!"

Wesley declared excitedly at the dinner table.

"What’s the exciting news? You’re all hyped up."

Long Yi was curious too.

"After the training you gave me last time, I had a breakthrough. Teaming up with Observation Dragon, I can easily spot the enemy’s weakness. Of course, I am still mastering this technique. However, it has proven effective against opponents of not too high a rank above me. With my relentless efforts, I am now at the fourth level of Fighting Aura!"

Wesley stood tall and proud. Seeing both Ai Lin and Long Yi looking puzzled, Long Yi realized he needs to congratulate him and started clapping first.

Achieving level four Fighting Aura so quickly in the first year is indeed something to be proud of. Unfortunately, Long Yi himself is a miracle-creator and Ai Lin is the genius among geniuses. The level four Fighting Aura doesn’t seem that great in comparison.

"Hehe, Brother Long, I know you are great, but now I’m at level four Fighting Aura, just three levels away from your level seven Fighting Aura. I just need to put in a bit more effort and I could easily surpass you,"

Wesley chuckled.

"The thing is, I am at level nine Fighting Aura now."

Long Yi said.

"Just level nine, not too far from... wait, what? Level nine?"

Wesley’s smug expression didn’t last too long, quickly turning into a near-crying face.

"Brother Long, can you at least give me a minute to inflate myself? Even just a minute! Our family is so proud of me – my dad even lent me his Elf membership card, showing how happy they were. And here you are, crushing me with no mercy."

Wesley was devastated, his heart shattered into pieces.

"Well, next time, I won’t...."

Long Yi said awkwardly.

"Promise? You won’t next time."

Wesley said.

"Yes, I promise not to tell you."

Long Yi nodded in confirmation. Soon after, everyone burst into laughter.

Wesley had been taking his training very seriously. His Observation Dragon demonstrated some surprising abilities. This power to identify an enemy’s weakness is profound and delicate, difficult to describe, but it enables Wesley to evade the enemy’s attack in the most cunning ways, or identify gaps in the enemy’s thick defense.

In this world, no one can claim that their offense or defense is perfect. Not even Long Yi, despite his extreme self-confidence. To identify the imperfection requires extensive battlefield experience. This ability of Wesley allows him to strategically be one step ahead of the enemy without any battlefield experience. Even if it can’t necessarily work wonders on the battlefield, if used strategically, it can tip the balance during crucial moments.

No wonder Wesley and his family were so delighted.

Next, Wesley shared the second part of his exciting news – he was planning to advance to the second year early. Big Cook and Mosquito had similar plans. The three of them were training rigorously with the hopes of moving to second year together. Wesley’s progress was impressive, and all three of them developed quickly through joint training. They were currently working hard to earn academic credits and plan to advance to the second year as soon as possible.

As they talked, various dishes arrived. The portions were small, but the dishes were exquisite. Being someone who had never been a tycoon in his two lifetimes, these dishes were the most top-notch flavors Long Yi had ever tasted.

Of course, everyone present came from aristocracy. Long Yi naturally couldn’t be too ravenous, he composed himself a bit. Although he was far from satiated, coming to these places was more about enjoying the refined tastes, flavor, and craftsmanship of the food. Filling a stomach was left to the responsibilities of barbecue at street food stalls. Different worlds indeed.

Seeing everyone almost full, Long Yi, who had consumed the equivalent of three persons’ meals, didn’t feel right eating more. They all sat, chatting together. Long Yi shared his recent battles, and the other three told about the interesting events they’d encountered recently.

At the same time, Long Yi felt an intense gaze directed at him.

Looking up, he noticed a familiar face passing by.

The Third Crown Prince.

Long Yi couldn’t help but grin. The Third Crown Prince wore loose casual clothes with no signs of injury on his face. He walked with a slight limp indicating he hasn’t fully healed. That he had recovered to this extent so soon showed the power of the royal family.

Seeing Long Yi lift his head, the hatred in the eyes of the Third Crown Prince intensified. But in a blink of an eye, his hatred vanished, and his face appeared as calm as a spring breeze.

"Long time no see, Long Yi."

As he opened his mouth, Long Yi noticed two unnaturally white teeth. They must have been the replacements for those Long Yi had broken.

"Long time no see, Third Prince, how is your health recently?"

Long Yi asked with a smile.

All those present stood up and greeted the Third Prince. Long Yi, despite his reluctance, had to stand up as well. After all, the man’s status as the Third Prince, the Emperor’s son, demanded a certain amount of respect.

"Hehe, thanks to your luck, my health is fine."

The corners of the Third Prince’s eyes twitched, almost erupting in anger, but he managed to restrain himself.

"That’s nice to hear. I’m actually quite concerned about you, Third Prince."

Long Yi said with a smile.

"You have me in your thoughts, and I remember that."

As soon as he said "I remember", an inexplicable killing intent, tangible as a physical thing, seemed to be headed towards Long Yi!

It wasn’t coming from the Third Prince! but from behind him! Was there someone behind him? Why hadn’t he noticed?

Long Yi’s eyebrows slightly furrowed. Facing the threat, he didn’t retreat, but took a step forward. Just one simple step, but it brought the Third Prince within his attack range.

"Your highness, you’re too kind. You’re a prince, the future pillar of the Empire. As insignificant citizens, we would dare not ask you to remember us. It would be better if you just forgot."

Long Yi is moving forward, not retreating. The Third Prince instinctively wanted to retreat back, but some extraneous force held him in place, stabilizing his stance. At the same time, the inexplicable killing intent surged and completely enveloped Long Yi’s table!

Threatening me with my friend?

The smile on Long Yi’s face gradually spread, as he let out a hearty laugh.

The Third Prince saw Long Yi laughing, thinking he was mocking his weakness. His face kept changing expressions. He was going to kill! The last time was a miscalculation, but this time, no mistakes will be allowed. The power behind him had far surpassed Long Yi’s. With one blow, let alone Long Yi, none of the people present would be able to survive.

What about General Kai Long’s granddaughter? The general’s son? The descendants of the rich businessman? Let them all go to hell! Once people are dead, how to judge them will be up to him to say the word.

Just as the Third Prince had made up his mind and was about to open his mouth, a graceful and attractive figure suddenly flashed over.

"Classmate Long Yi, what a coincidence! If not for your speaking, I might not have noticed you were here!"

The person who arrived was the Elf instructor, Yavenny!

Seeing Yavenny appear, Long Yi instinctively took a step back, causing the imposing aura to evaporate. At the same time, an old man in black, his body stooped, appeared next to the Third Prince with a lean, black dragon on his shoulder. Its pair of pure black eyes gleamed with a cold light.

Hiss--

Wesley was scared silly. The old man’s stealth skills were so unbelievable that he had been standing less than three meters in front of everyone, and no one had ever noticed him!

"Five Dragon Marks!"

Ai Lin immediately recognized the stranger’s rank.

Hearing about the Five Dragon Marks, Wesley was stupefied. This was strength far beyond anyone’s imagination! In the face of such an opponent, there’s no point in struggling. The best thing to do would be to beg the stranger’s mercy for a quick death!

"Black Dragon?"

Yavenny asked with a smile.

Hearing Yavenny speak like this, the Third Prince turned pale, then hurriedly turned back. His gaze met the old man’s. Then, he stiffly turned back and said, "This gentleman is not from the Black Dragon Empire, but an old friend of mine. When I was young, he saved my life from a monster."

Yavenny giggled: "Oh, a life-saving benefactor. So, are you guys going to have dinner?"

Caught off guard by the sudden change in Yavenny’s conversational tone, the Third Prince was momentarily dumbfounded. He then nodded heavily, said no more to Long Yi, and walked straight to his seat.

Yavenny watched as the Third Prince and the old man left. Then, she sat down next to Long Yi with a smile. She casually linked arms with Long Yi, leaning into him. Alli, seeing Yavenny holding Long Yi’s arm, blushed and immediately held onto Long Yi’s other arm defiantly.

Back when they were in class, Long Yi and Ai Lin would sit together in the front row. Although he was tall, there was plenty of space in the classroom, and he didn’t block others. But Da Chu and Mosquito were seated in the back, and hadn’t witnessed this scene from the front. Now seeing it in person, along with Wesley, they all felt like a bomb of jealousy was about to explode.

What luck! What enviable luck!

Unconsciously, everyone seemed to forget about the terrifying incident that had just happened, while Long Yi felt both awkward and restless.
