Chapter 84: Chapter 75: Sister? [Correcting a Mistake]

Upon entering the restaurant, the first thing that met our eyes was the meticulously arranged décor. Every dining table was surrounded by lush green vines, cleverly obstructing the line of sight between each table. The vines were adorned with specks of flowers, their faint fragrance perfectly subtle. A clear stream ran underfoot, deftly flowing past everyone without intruding upon their space. It was incredibly magical.

"The first time I came here I was little, I played around for a good half hour, trying to step on the water, but I ended up tiring myself out without achieving a single successful step," said the chef with a laugh.

"Ah, I’ve done that too."

Wesley laughed as well.

"I wanted to do it, but I didn’t dare."

Ai Lin said timidly.

Long Yi sighed, "This is my first time here, and I actually wanted to try it out when we came in."

Everyone laughed softly at his confession.

Wesley had already reserved a table. The party followed an elf waiter to their arranged setting. While they were walking, Long Yi abruptly changed expression. He saw a familiar face!

His elven tutor, Yavenny!

Why was she here?

Oh right, this restaurant was run by elves, so seeing Yavenny, an elf herself, here wasn’t strange.

Long Yi tried to make himself as unobtrusive as possible, silently chanting, "You can’t see me, you can’t see me, you can’t see me..." He was not sure if his spell worked or if Yavenny simply did not notice, but as his group passed her table, Yavenny never looked their way, continuing to converse with the person in front of her.

God of Luck! How you favor me!

Long Yi mentally thanked his luck, his heartbeat gradually calming.

"What was that all about? Why did you suddenly start speaking gibberish?"

Across from Yavenny, a lavishly dressed elf gazed curiously at her.

"Well, I saw a charming young boy whom I fancy. He was pretending not to see me, so I had to grant his prayer."

Yavenny replied with a light chuckle.

"Sister..."

The elf across the table showed a perplexed smile.

"Hey, if you dare to say anything related to age, even if you are the Great Elf Inspector, I’ll still be offended."

Yavenny protested with a coy tone.

"Yavenny, you are the image of the elves now. Can you show some respect for this Inspector General? My great-great-grandmother was one of the victorious ones who sealed your sisters back in the old home back in the day."

The elf Inspector General gave Yavenny a stare without any malice.

"If you didn’t mention the ’back in the day’ and your great-great-grandmother, I might be even happier."

Yavenny’s eyes narrowed dangerously as a strange light flickered at the bottom of her eyes.

"Ahem, I would advise you to curb your habit of resorting to hypnosis at the drop of a hat. Not only is it easy for others to recognize you, but ever since we elves participated in sealing your sisters, resulting in almost half our warriors being controlled by you, hypnosis resistance has been included in our daily training. With your current power, it’s ineffective against me."

The Great Elf Inspector replied with a smirk.

"Ah, I give up! I knew it would be ineffective, but couldn’t you have pretended to be affected, even just a little?"

Yavenny pouted, looking obviously displeased.

"Ah... I’m controlled,"

The Great Elf Inspector muttered insincerely.

"Hmm, got it."

Yavenny was speechless.

"Alright, let’s talk business. One of our sisters reported seeing a woman who closely resembles your sister."

The Great Elf Inspector started speaking.

"Really? Where?"

Yavenny brightened up instantly, almost sticking her face into that of the Great Elf Inspector’s.

"Calm down!"

The Inspector General raised her hand, pressing back Yavenny’s head.

"You know the demonic activities have become particularly frequent in various countries these days, right? Most of them are emerging from the Gentle Wind Plain. The Gentle Wind Plain is a vast land coveted by all countries, but none dare to seize it entirely. Some idiot from another Plane has recently opened a wound in the Plane over this plain. Powerful members of the Demon Tribe have rushed over and infected many animals on the plain, turning them into demons. Surprisingly, all countries have acted in unison, sending their Dragon Rider Legions into the Gentle Wind Plain under the pretext of eliminating the Demon Tribe. Did you know that the countries have even mobilized their own Guardian Dragon Riders? A few large demons don’t deserve the attack of Guardian Dragon Riders. The countries are not fighting a Demon General, they’re just fighting for territory. Oh, I’ve also heard that Elsa, the newly appointed Guardian Dragon Rider of the White Dragon Empire, has been quarreling with the Guardian Dragon Rider from the Black Dragon Empire. They fought in the air for half an hour. Although their dispute was promptly halted by their respective Legion Leaders, with no clear winner, Elsa did manage to cut off one of Black Dragon’s horns, which is considered a great humiliation by the Black Dragon Empire you know?"

"My sister, how does all this relate to my sister’s news?"

Yavenny, having waited for so long, didn’t hear any news about her sister.

"Don’t rush, we’re getting there soon."

The Elven Inspector General was visibly excited, she seemed to love telling stories.

"Which large demon would be a match for a Guardian Dragon Rider? The moments they were bombarded into oblivion were brief, but one large demon managed to escape. Guess who it was?"

Yavenny covered her face helplessly, "As soon as you open your mouth, I know. My sister, the battle maniac, disguised herself as a large demon leading an attack on humans. But with her current strength, she wouldn’t stand a chance even if confronted by the Dragon Rider Legion, let alone a Guardian Dragon Rider. In the end, she must have fled."

"Haha, you’re really smart to be able to guess that."

The Great Elf Inspector complimented her while casually stroking Yavenny’s hair.

"If I couldn’t even guess this, then I would have wasted all these... er, all these years of my life?"

Yavenny gave the elf opposite her a hard stare, then let out a long sigh.

"So, aren’t you going to look for her?"

The Great Elf Inspector asked.

"Find her? You must be joking. She must have changed her appearance after fleeing. How would I know where she is? Where am I supposed to find her?" Yavenny laughed bitterly, "My damned sister, she finally broke the seal, even those tough big shots from the past surrendered. Wasn’t it good enough for her to stay home and wait to become the queen? She just had to run around, causing me all this trouble of having to search all over for her. If I’m unlucky, I might even have to grab the territory back... Ah!"

Yavenny muttered to herself, then suddenly raised her head and looked at the elf inspector opposite her, chuckling softly, "Girl, you wouldn’t spill the beans about this, would you?"

The Inspector giggled, "No, no, of course not."

Yavenny didn’t believe her though, "Hmm, you surely wouldn’t spill the beans, you would only tell the World Tree. Then the World Tree would tell all the elves, and this will soon become a well-known secret."

At this point, Yavenny leaned toward her, her eyes close to the Great Elf Inspector’s, "I think I’d better wipe your memory clean. Hypnosis might not be effective on you guys, but you know, if I wanted to force you to forget this event, it would be quite easy."

"No, there’s no need for that," the Great Elf Inspector waved her hands in refusal, her eyes momentarily blank. Then, as if she had just seen Yavenny, she said in a surprised tone, "Oh, Lady Yavenny, I’ve kept you waiting. I have some great news to share with you today."
