Chapter 490: Chapter 379: Ready to Go Out and Play!

When the young man returned, the meeting had already ended. The hall was empty except for the boss standing in the center.

"You’re back?" The boss asked.

"Yes, boss." The young man replied.

"How did it go?"

"I admit, I had really underestimated Long Yi before, that guy is absolutely playing dumb!"

"No, he’s not pretending to be dumb, he’s just too lazy to think for himself because he understands clearly that any plot or scheme is, in the end, reliant upon strength."

"You’re right." The young man nodded, a little convinced.

"Haha, any time you chat with Long Yi, you’re sure to learn something." The boss disinterestedly smiled, and then turned his head. The young man asked, "By the way, did Long Yi say anything else?"

"No... Ah, he suddenly out of nowhere asked me if you liked armor."

The boss startled for a split second, and then his eyes were filled with helplessness: "This damn kid really has terrifying insight."

"What? Boss, did you know Long Yi before?"

"Hahaha, that is a long story!"

"Can I know?"

"No."

"I’m sorry..."

When Long Yi said he wanted to go out for fun, he wasn’t joking. He truly meant to go out and have fun, albeit a little far.

The destination was the Black Dragon Empire.

Long Yi intended to stir up trouble with the Black Dragon Empire, purely for the heck of it.

However, who to bring along became a problem.

Of course, Long Yi would be going.

Then, Suolin had to go. Be it for stealthy assassinations, or morphing into dragon form for a powerful attack, her strength was undeniable.

The two Dandis would naturally follow, as Long Yi needed their help to establish contact with the Yaksha within the Black Dragon Empire. When they transform into Blood Ravens, they would not attract much attention, so it won’t be a problem.

Isrile, as a top-level combatant, is too tall and conspicuous. Her pronounced figure makes it impossible for her to disguise herself. Hence, she could not go.

Little Zi could always hide inside Long Yi’s body, so there was no problem.

The biggest problem was Ai Lin.

Ai Lin was a Fairy Dragon, and a Fairy Dragon’s appearance was too flashy. Even though the huge wings on her back could be concealed by a cloak, the dragon horns on her head were impossible to cover up.

For this issue, Long Yi had no choice but to seek the assistance of the giant tablets and wands. In theory, with the power of the wands, nothing was impossible. However, because of control issues, Long Yi could not fully master the wands’ usage skills. Long Yi needed the guidance of the giant tablets passed down from generation to generation to use them.

In fact, if it was about removing the dragon horns completely, it would not be difficult. But the dragon horns were part of Ai Lin’s body. As a Fairy Dragon, Ai Lin now cared greatly about her dragon horns.

Long Yi, left without a choice, had to seek help from the Life Research Institute, but Lady Nor told him there was nothing she could do. Then, reluctantly, Long Yi had to seek help from the Magic Research Institute where Master Ding Ge works.

This time, Ding Ge proved his caliber that was in line with his position. He immediately told Long Yi that it was impossible.

Ai Lin’s body was covered in Shadow Silver, her blood was even flowing with Shadow Silver. This is a material that can almost completely block magic, so there was absolutely no way magic could be used.

If it was Long Yi himself, even if it was risky, he could have used the wand to try something. But now that it was Ai Lin, Long Yi didn’t have that courage.

In the end, Ai Lin had no choice but to stay home unwillingly.

Long Yi left in the middle of the night. Ai Lin watched him from the window for a long time before she reluctantly returned to her own bed. At the bedside, Isrile was still eating as usual.

"Didn’t you say that you could have hidden your dragon horns already? Why did you tell Long Yi you couldn’t hide them?" Isrile asked, puzzled.

Ai Lin exhaled gently and said, "Suolin’s mental state is unstable, Brother Long needs to take care of her. If I were by his side, Long Yi would definitely be distracted by taking care of me, and that’s not appropriate."

As she said this, Ai Lin’s dragon horns transformed into silver and slowly receded. Her enormous wings on her back also turned silver, gradually softening and disappearing behind her.

"And there’s another problem, once I enter a state of combat, my wings and horns will appear again."

"But judging by your expression, you still wanted to go, right?"

"I want to go, but it’s not appropriate for me to do so."

"Well, all the better then. I was worried about what I’d eat if all of you left. Now that you’re staying, let’s just enjoy a good meal together!" Isrile declared.

Just then, they saw Long Yi and Suolin rushing back in a hurry.

"Brother Long? Why are you back?" Ai Lin asked in surprise.

"Huh! Something’s not right! Ai Lin, where are your dragon horns!" Long Yi widened his eyes in shock.

Only then did Ai Lin realize that she had hidden her dragon horns and wings.

"Actually... I can hide them." Ai Lin said, blushing.

As it turned out, Ai Lin, being a branch of the Silver Dragon, was entirely made up of a Shadow Silver alloy, both her scales and dragon horns. This metal could transform at Ai Lin’s command, concealing her entire body scaled just as easily. However, Ai Lin had adapted to her identity as a Fairy Dragon long ago.

"Then why...."

"Isn’t it because I’m worried about holding you back!" Isrile glared harshly at Long Yi. The thought of letting go of such a great cook was particularly unpleasant to her.

"Fool! How could that be possible!" Long Yi pulled Ai Lin into his arms and gently kissed her.

Hearing Long Yi’s words, Ai Lin’s eyes welled up with tears. Long Yi had always been a decisive person, following through on every decision he made. Now, Long Yi had actually returned especially for her!

"On our way back, Suolin came up with a solution, I thought it might be useful so I wanted to give it a try. But since everything is fine, isn’t it just perfect!"

"Hey, are you really willing to leave me alone here?" Isrile tugged Long Yi away from Ai Lin, hoisting him up.

"Hold your horses, aren’t we trying to find a solution?" Long Yi chuckled as he spoke.

It was clear that Ai Lin wanted to go, Suolin saw this with absolute clarity. She also understood why Ai Lin had not come along. This led Suolin to feel an additional layer of guilt amidst her touched feelings. So, she also wanted to help Ai Lin with something. She pondered deeply along the way until she finally had an idea.

The Chameleon’s gift.

All chameleon dragon riders possessed a shapeshifting ability, allowing them to disguise themselves as someone else. So, wouldn’t that mean if this ability could be given to Ai Lin, that she could disguise herself as she pleases?

While it is easy to say, it is hard to realize. However, Long Yi already had a little idea.

Although Suolin’s body was that of a chameleon, she was no longer a pure chameleon. She could no longer transform into anything as she wished, but rather could transform between a dragon and a human form. So, she couldn’t give anyone any abilities through a covenant, but, Suolin was still essentially a chameleon. Thus, if her transformation ability could be implanted onto someone else, wouldn’t that be equivalent to possessing this ability directly?

With his knowledge and the assistance of the Giant’s Scepter, Long Yi was confident there was a seventy percent chance of success.

However, the conditions were extremely stringent.

"I have a simple testing method." Long Yi said, "I can use the Giant’s Scepter to extract a part of the chameleon’s body that is responsible for transformation and then we can run a compatibility test."

"Alright! Let’s do it!"

Isrile let go of Long Yi.

In the basement of the small villa, Suolin transformed into a Dragon and then gave one of her dragon scales to Long Yi, then transformed back into her human form. Under the control of the Giant’s Scepter, the dragon scale in midair transformed into two dazzling drops of liquid which appeared to be continuously reconstituting.

"Hold out the backs of your hands." said Long Yi.

Ai Lin extended her hand, her silver dragon scales receded, exposing the delicate, fair skin underneath. Isrile did the same.

Two drops of liquid fell onto the backs of Ai Lin and Isrile’s hands. The liquid on Isrile’s hand rolled straight off onto the ground and gradually dimmed. Meanwhile, the liquid on Ai Lin’s hand lit up and slowly merged into the back of her hand.

"Can you try it out?"

Long Yi asked.

Silver scales reappeared and fused as one.

"Is there any change? " Long Yi asked anxiously.

"Change..." Ai Lin felt it carefully, and then a look of surprise appeared on her face, "I can cast magic!"

Ai Lin was a genius of magic, but she had always been unable to cast magic due to the Shadow Silver issue. But now, this small test had changed everything. Ai Lin discovered that she could freely control the makeup of her contact scales. It could be Shadow Silver, which completely blocked magic, or Mithril which greatly enhanced magic!

This means that as long as she could quickly switch between the two, at least on the magic battlefield, Ai Lin was almost invincible!

"Ah! This isn’t fair!" Isrile collapsed onto her bed, yelling out in a huff.

This ability could only be received by Ai Lin, and Isrile couldn’t. Because Ai Lin was a dragon, while the body Isrile currently possessed was human!

Obviously, Suolin’s ability to transform wasn’t just about changing outward form, it had different effects on different people.>

"Thank you, Sister Suolin." Ai Lin sincerely thanked as she held Suolin’s hand.

"No, no, you’re welcome. I’m glad that I could help you. Besides, all the credit goes to Brother Long, I... I didn’t do anything." Suolin felt a bit helpless, this was the first time someone had been so grateful to her.

"But thanks to you, if it weren’t for you, Brother Long would also be going around in circles!" Ai Lin said with a smile.

"Then... then I also..." Suolin wanted to argue back quietly, but Isrile interrupted with a shout, "You inhumane bunch, is there no one to console the disappointed and hurt me?"

"Sister Isrile, don’t be sad. We’ll think of a way next time!" Long Yi immediately comforted.

"Next time? So does that mean we’re just going to let it go this time?"

"I really don’t have any solutions this time!"

"No? Hmm! I heard that the Black Dragon Empire also has many special cuisines. If you don’t bring me a ton or two from this trip, I think we’re going to need some serious training!"

Isrile threatened with a sneer, clenching her fist.

Training!

This word finally applied to himself!

Sure enough, what goes around comes around!

Long Yi couldn’t help but shed tears.

Even though he had delayed by a night, Long Yi’s gains were substantial. That night, Long Yi once again set off, this time with Ai Lin and Suolin by his side. Home guardian Isrile, however, got a handwritten IOU from Long Yi, allowing her to freely eat at any restaurant in the Imperial City, with Long Yi covering for the bill.(To be continued.
