Chapter 453: Chapter 345: Blood Coagulation Leader

Meanwhile, in the Imperial City of the White Dragon Empire, there was another person wiping off water from his face.

This individual was none other than Chief Thorne, the overall in-charge of the Blood Condensation assassination organization in the White Dragon Empire.

This man, a large round mound of a body, stood there, not daring to move. Standing opposite him was a lean young man, holding a wine glass in his hand, once filled with priceless wine. This was Thorne’s private stock, so precious he himself could not bear to take a sip casually, yet he had used it to treat the youth before him.

Because, this youth was none other than the current head of Blood Condensation —— Sorin.

Sorin appeared to be in his twenties. His face was pale and his features delicate. Just by his looks, one could not tell if he was male or female. His voice was also very neutral. But in reality, he has been in charge of Blood Condensation for more than a decade. Everyone who knew him knew that since the day he appeared in Blood Condensation, his appearance, voice, and even clothing remained unchanged. Thorne was one of the earliest followers of Sorin. Since Sorin replaced the former leader, Thorne was the first to pledge allegiance to him. Because Thorne saw that this Sorin was definitely not ordinary.

However, now his loyalty was rewarded. The exquisite wine he respectfully offered was returned to him, and despite the harsh attitude, the taste of the wine was still wonderful.

What a pity.

Thorne licked his lips, thinking this deep within.

"Is this your answer to me?" Sorin asked in a deep voice, his hand holding a thin piece of paper with a few scattered words on it.

"I have done everything in my power. This is very hard," Thorne defended himself.

"I am not satisfied, or rather, I am very angry," Sorin frowned slightly.

"Even if you are very angry, I have truly done my best. You saw it too, the basement of an abandoned house here, this is also the last hiding place of Blood Condensation. Once this place is also discovered, Blood Condensation will have nowhere else in the Imperial City. Every time we strike following your orders, regardless of the gain, it inevitably results in the destruction of our hideout. Lord Sorin, you know of my loyalty to you. If you really want me to die, I will not dare or have any complaints. But if you continue to order us to make these reckless attacks regardless of the cost, then Blood Condensation will truly disappear here."

Thorne had held these words inside of him for a long time, and he couldn’t leave this place, otherwise, he would have rushed in front of Sorin and said them out loud.

Sorin was here now, loudly blaming him, and Thorne had no choice but to tell Sorin that this matter was not his fault at all!

Sorin looked at Thorne’s eyes, on his face, the smile was long gone, his small eyes enlarged to their maximum, and neither of them backed down.

In the end, Sorin sighed.

"I know about the matter you mentioned! But, I have no choice!"

Thorne also sighed, understanding that although in name, Sorin was the head of Blood Condensation, Blood Condensation was truly only controlled by one person.

That person was the Emperor of the Black Dragon Empire, Canir Black.

The recent series of orders against Blood Condensation all came from Canir Black. Blood Condensation’s importance to the Black Dragon Empire couldn’t be neglected. Hence Canir issuing such orders was bewildering. Everyone knew how dangerous it was to have assassins from the enemy state lurking in the capital of another Empire. However, Canir didn’t pay much attention to them; he was always obsessed with training the super Dragon Knight and researching necromancy. In Canir’s view, Blood Condensation was just an accessory, and the ones who truly decided the victory of the battlefield were the frontline soldiers.

Regardless, for a long time, Blood Condensation had brought a lot of valuable information to the Black Dragon Empire, Canir’s abrupt change of attitude was extremely cold-hearted.

"The Emperor once again issued an order to thoroughly investigate any communication between Dragon One and the alternate dimension," Sorin said. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶

"That’s impossible." Thorne shook his head. "Although Dragon One is only nineteen years old, his emphasis on confidentiality is even greater than mine. That bastard will always let a female demon check the surroundings whenever he does anything. Speaking of female demons, that one called Little Zi, her strength surged after returning from the Black Dragon Empire last time. She even has thirteen more female demon avatars! I guess those are the thirteen that disappeared previously? He makes his own matters messy and piles on the pressure every day. I can’t do this, please tell the Emperor, I can’t take any more, let him cut off my head or gut me if he wants!"

Thorne was now desperate -- he hadn’t felt this aggrieved in many years. Dealing with Dragon One was not going smoothly and now he also had to take flak from his own emperor. What’s the worst-case scenario? The loss of his life? Even if you want to kill me, can you run over to the White Dragon Empire? Do you know the streets here better than I do?

Sorin saw Thorne’s emotion rising and handed him a handkerchief. Thorne received it, thanked him, and quietly wiped his face.

"Not long ago, a few fools who don’t value their lives offered Dragon One through our informants. The price offered was high, but I did not agree," Thorne said,

"Agree to it," Sorin said.

"None of us can match him."

"That Long Yi, I’ll meet him." Said Solon.

"You..." Toen hesitated to speak.

"Are you worried about me?" Solon deduced Toen’s concerns.

"Honestly, yes, I am worried about you. That Long Yi is not an easy person to deal with." Toen said.

"Ha, you’re already scared witless by him. He’s human, every human has a weakness." replied Solon.

"Everyone who’s been killed by him thought the same." Toen said.

"Are you trying to tell me that I would lose?" Solon’s eyes sharpened abruptly.

"I want to tell you that this person named Long Yi, I’ve thoroughly investigated his entire life. From his early years of childhood brawling up till when he took down Dasaide, regardless of big or small battles, he never loses. Sometimes he wins easily, sometimes narrowly, but he always emerges victorious in the end. This Long Yi was elected as an elder among the dwarves because of his selfless contributions. He also helped the White Dragon Empire construct battle armor, has a deep connection with elves, and even the little princess of the Sea Clan has a good relationship with him. Additionally, he is often seen with a Fairy Dragon, his mount dragon is a Demon Abyss Dragon, and he has a strong female demon servant. If you, Lord Solon, could build such diverse relationships, wouldn’t you already be a dominant king by now? But look at what Long Yi has done? He traveled around for the sake of the White Dragon Empire, even venturing into the Crazy Demons Plane to solve the urgent shortage of Crystal Cores for the White Dragon Empire. No offence, but I doubt you or I would dare to do that."

After exhausting his breath in his passionate speech, Toen took a moment to sigh, and then said, "Though I have attempted to assassinate Long Yi multiple times, I must admit that he is indeed an impressive figure. If we were not enemies, I truly wouldn’t want to provoke him."

Solon’s eye twitched slightly. Clearly, Toen’s words had shaken him. He knew Toen well, despite his obese appearance he was both physically and mentally superior. He had an uncanny knack for accurately judging people. For years, Toen was successfully managing the Blood Coagulation organization of the White Dragon Empire, however, he kept stumbling over Long Yi. And these were not one-off failures. Toen once complained to Solon, stating that his conspicuous appearance prevented him from personally observing Long Yi. Otherwise, these massive losses to Blood Coagulation would have never happened on Long Yi.

Solon remained silent, and Toen realized he might have talked too much, making Solon unhappy. But he had been holding these words inside for too long.

Finally, Toen said, "If you, Lord Solon, intend to meet Long Yi, then you best be fully prepared. Long Yi is much more than he appears to be. If you have a chance to kill him with one strike, do not hesitate. The only weakness Long Yi has is his knack for conserving energy. The first strike is generally effective against him, but if it doesn’t hit, the second one will likely never land."

Solon nodded, no longer speaking. Toen had basically said it all.

Solon started to be cautious, but he did not give up on his idea of assassinating Long Yi. This is because he firmly believed: Long Yi isn’t a god and isn’t without flaws. As long as he can find this flaw, anyone can kill Long Yi.

One of the essential qualities of an accomplished assassin is patience, never expose yourself until you can assure the kill. Solon was that kind of assassin. He had left the Imperial City and entered Academy City three days ago. He immersed himself in the student or faculty crowd keeping a close eye on Long Yi using his unique ability of disguise.

Obviously, waiting for Long Yi to be alone is near impossible. Bajie, Xiaoyou, Little Zi, and Isrile barely ever left his side. Especially Little Zi, regardless of where she travels, her mental scan is always active. If she senses any anomalies, immediately a female demon avatar would fly over.

If it hadn’t been for Solon’s immense strength and his willpower to forcibly alter his conscious aura, he would have been detected by the meticulous Little Zi. And from what Solon could tell, Long Yi seemed to be unaware of what Little Zi was doing.

Damn! How can she be so loyal? Aren’t you just Long Yi’s servant? Your master did not give you any orders. And he does not know your actions, so what’s the point?

Solon simply could not comprehend.

However, he also noticed something. Long Yi, it seemed, did not treat Little Zi as his servant, but more like a beloved little sister. They often had quite intimate interactions, like Long Yi loving to touch Little Zi’s hair, and she equally enjoying it. And his relations with the two dragons were more like that of good comrades than of master and servant.

How can he be like this?

Treat each equally?

Solon does not like this type of person.

Solon despises masters who treat their servants well.

Because Solon himself is a servant, and his master is the Emperor of the Black Dragon Empire, Kaniel Black.(To be continued.
