Chapter 1678: Chapter 1249 My Messenger_2

Thus, the news of Darkness’ invasion into a certain sect’s space to steal the Ancient Divine Texts immediately spread throughout the entire Sixth Ring. The Legions and Bounty Hunters who were pursuing her instantly knew where to find her.

Generally speaking, these small sects and research-oriented Legions are affiliated with some larger Legions. They share their research findings with the Legion, and the Legion provides them with protection. However, the research on Divine Texts has stalled over the last tens of thousands of years, leading to the decline of these research-oriented sects and Legions. Meanwhile, the growth of devout monotheistic zealots has exploded. Therefore, most of the time, the spaces of these research-oriented sects and Legions are almost devoid of deities.

But now things are different. A new deity, who carries the secrets of the Ancient Divine Texts, is searching everywhere for the Ancient Divine Texts. She doesn’t care whether the Divine Texts have been deciphered or not, because she can obtain a stronger Divine Status from the deciphered texts, an ability that is enticing enough to stir the entire Sixth Ring. And the best strategy is to sit tight and wait for her to appear.

The pursuers cannot enter the spaces of those sects and Legions, so they can only wait at a distance, anticipating Darkness’ emergence.

But sometimes, waiting may not necessarily be good. Darkness’ overwhelming strength is not something that common Gods of War or Bounty Hunters can contest. The disparity in power is almost like vanishing upon exposure to light. And this is Darkness still restraining her power.

For the Sixth Ring, Darkness’ initial curiosity turned to disappointment, for she heard from Humming that it was a civilized society. But upon reflection, although it is known as the Sixth Ring, in fact, it is just a neighbor to the primitive Seventh Ring. Even if there were changes, what difference could they make?

When arriving at that Legion, the surrounding area of the Divine Power star was likewise encircled by countless Ancient Divine Texts. Yet, in order to obtain those texts, Darkness must confront tens of thousands of Gods of War ahead.

"I’ve never seen anyone so eager to deliver Divine Status to me," Darkness said with a laugh, and the battle began.

The Divine Power Light Cannons fired in rapid succession, while the war blade swung incessantly. The Gods of War besieging Darkness were shocked to find that her Divine Power seemed infinite, showing no signs of waning no matter how recklessly it was used!

Eventually, they realized that this Darkness was an enemy they simply could not handle. But it was too late, Darkness had no intention of letting them leave!

Finally, the Gods of War were either dead or fleeing, leaving only Darkness and Mars in the entire space.

And Mars hadn’t even made a move.

Another lengthy interrogation of the ancients accompanied by the acquisition of Divine Status.

Such events occurred one after another. Everywhere Darkness passed through, battles ensued, yet no one could ever stop her.

During this period, the Supreme Power Legion affiliated with the Legion of Divine Power Origin remained silent, the entire Legion made no moves. Initially, the major Legions mocked them for their incompetence and weakness, but as the Legions that went to annihilate Darkness were destroyed one by one, the mockers finally understood why the Supreme Power Legion had not been the first to act.

As the Ancient Divine Texts continued to be taken away, eventually the monotheistic zealots could not stand idly by anymore.

It is universally acknowledged that these Ancient Divine Texts come from the one true deity. The monotheistic zealots believe that the Ancient Divine Texts should belong to them. Although they held this belief previously, they did not intend to compete for the deciphered texts, which they considered useless.

But now, those things which they deemed pointless had become treasures in the hands of others! This they could not tolerate!

Although the zealots each had their own organizations, their faith was ultimately the same, and this common belief allowed them to quickly communicate with one another.

They would band together for battle, and once they defeated Darkness, they would subject her to brutal interrogation to obtain the secret of how she could derive Divine Status from those apparently useless Divine Texts.

Once this secret is revealed, all the zealots will leap to become the most powerful beings in the entire Plane.

So, not long after, in a certain cult space, Darkness stood before over a million fanatical believers.

This cult space contained the largest Divine Power star and the most Ancient Divine Texts. They believed that Darkness would certainly not miss this place, so they had always been guarding here. In fact, Darkness had long heard about this from the mouths of some gods, but she did not show any hesitation. Or rather, this was exactly what she wanted.

Facing a million fanatical believers, Darkness behaved as if she was facing nothing more than a swarm of insects. She kept advancing towards the Divine Power star, while the fanatical believers at the forefront began to slowly retreat.

After all, Darkness had an impressive record of battles over the past period, and numerous Gods of War had already used their Divine Status to prove Darkness’s strength. Although they had gathered in great numbers, those Gods of War at the vanguard never really thought they would be fortunate enough to win.

"So, you all gathered here just to deal with me?" Darkness asked, her voice with Divine Power fluctuations echoing through the entire space.

"Why? I suppose it’s because of jealousy. You’re jealous that I can unravel the secrets of the Ancient Divine Texts, while you, who claim to be the sole devotees of God, cannot unlock these secrets, right? So, you gathered here, wanting to obtain the secrets of the Ancient Divine Texts from me. However, what if I tell you that the reason I can read these Ancient Divine Texts is actually because I am the true successor of that only God?"

Darkness’s words left every fanatical believer present somewhat bewildered. What did she mean by this?

"Don’t understand? I thought that you, proclaiming to be fanatical believers, truly held a fervent belief in the only God. It turns out you’re just ordinary gods. Your belief is neither firm nor complete because you can’t even comprehend any of the messages left by the only God. According to the revelation, I should have killed you all, stripping you of your status as fanatical believers, but I’ve decided to give you a chance."

As she spoke, Darkness suddenly released a vast array of Divine Texts, a collective gathered from all Legions.

When these Ancient Divine Texts were activated, the Divine Texts above the far-off Divine Power star immediately glowed and rushed towards Darkness. Accompanying the release of Divine Status, there were also special Divine Power fluctuations; these were messages from the only God, fragmented beyond interpretation. However, they were enough to intimidate every fanatical believer present! They were the only God’s fanatical believers, and their faith rendered them incapable of fighting in the face of such fluctuations.

Not until most of the Divine Texts were absorbed did Darkness gather up the large collective of Divine Texts, and only then did the fanatical believers as if wake from a dream.

"Still don’t understand? Fanatical believers? I am not your enemy! I am the successor of the only God! I am the messenger of the only God! I am your sole leader!"

Darkness shouted loudly.

Every god present was astonished to find that their Divine Status level had unknowingly improved! Perhaps it wasn’t a radical change, but it was so much more than the usual praying could achieve!

"So it turns out, Darkness is the messenger! She has brought us revelations from the only God!" one of the fanatical believers, a round god wrapped in a cloak, suddenly shouted, his pink snout sticking out.

"The messenger! It’s the messenger!" The surrounding gods immediately started to spread the word.

The power of blind faith is astonishing, and in an instant, Darkness’s identity as the messenger was firmly established.

"Since my birth in the Ninth Ring, I have felt the presence of the only God, with its whispers constantly by my ear. I have been listening to His murmurs and guidance, making my way here, where His revelations taught me how to interpret these Divine Texts and how to combine meaningless Divine Texts into a meaningful scripture."

As she spoke, Darkness displayed two more groups of Divine Texts, which could already be roughly interpreted.

"Darkness... for... our... messenger..."
