Chapter 1677: Chapter 1249: My Envoy

The roar came from the red giant star itself.

"That’s completely untrue," Darkness said.

"So, is this section fabricated?"

The surface of the red giant star displayed the events that had just happened, where a god lunged at Darkness, only to be killed by her and stripped of their Divine Status.

"That’s true," Darkness said.

"So, you admit to committing murder?" the red giant star inquired.

"You are mistaken, the other party attempted to seize my Ancient Divine Text but failed, and then tried to kill me. I killed them in self-defense, it was not murder," Darkness said.

"My law knows nothing of self-defense. I only see that you killed someone and took their Divine Status. Therefore, I find you guilty of murder, and you are to be executed. Half of your Divine Status will be handed over to the court, and the other half will go to the Legion of the God of Death. Execute immediately!"

Darkness was stunned, then she burst into laughter: "How ridiculous this make-believe court of yours is. I thought, calling itself the Supreme Court, it would surely be a place where facts and evidence prevailed. Yet, it turns out to be nothing more than a primitive tribe’s hilarious game." 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎

"Darkness, you are insulting the Supreme Court," the voice of the red giant star grew more imposing.

"Oh, I’m sorry, I really didn’t mean it. Please forgive me. I promise I won’t go too hard on you!"

Boom, Mars shot towards the red giant star and then suddenly enlarged, its armor plating opening up to form a vast vortex, and it started to devour the red giant star directly! Darkness charged towards the plaintiff’s bench, her Light Cannon firing and her God of War blade swinging, gods falling one after another, their Divine Status being continuously absorbed.

"You say I committed murder? Behold, fools, this is murder!"

The red giant star vanished, the plaintiff’s bench was empty, and the enforcers of the law were nowhere to be found. Mars returned to the size of a fist, following by Darkness’s side.

"I actually believed this was a civilized world. How absurd," Darkness said with a laugh, then flew away.

In the observer’s gallery, people from the various Legions looked at each other in disbelief. They couldn’t believe what they had just witnessed—a god had just massacred before all the gods, and she did it simply because she was dissatisfied with the verdict.

No one had ever dared to say a word against the Supreme Court, as its authority was upheld by all the Legions.

But now, Darkness was making a statement with her actions.

"You all are nothing but trash."

The Supreme Court is a joke, there has never been any fair judgment here, and its existence relies solely on the maintenance by the major Legions. They need such an ostensibly fair place, yet utterly useless, to justify all their actions. Not just one god has objected to the Supreme Court, but none has dared to take any action. To oppose the Supreme Court is, in essence, to oppose all the major Legions. Of course, there have been gods in history who did so, but such actions always ended badly.

And now, a new god has emerged, challenging the bottom line of the great Legions.

Consequently, every Legion in the sixth ring had new gossip. Some gods even started betting on how long it would take for Darkness to be captured and executed.

The major Legions immediately issued internal orders to pursue and kill Darkness and seize her Divine Status.

Gods of War from the Legions and Bounty Hunters mobilized, beginning to track down Darkness across the entire sixth ring. In reality, Darkness had made no effort to conceal her tracks, for her purpose was very clear.

Ancient Divine Text.

Within the sixth ring, there were also small Legions or factions that possessed Ancient Divine Text. Typically, after extracting the inherent Divine Status from within, they would place those texts around the Divine Power stars. This not only prevents the texts from vanishing but also showcases their accomplishments. However, as for the true function of the Ancient Divine Text, these factions and Legions claimed to be powerless.

Under the principle of not squandering heaven’s gifts, Darkness directly approached a small faction’s dwelling. This faction also followed the doctrine of the Heavenly Kingdom and, similar to the Divine Power Source Legion, was small enough to be barely called a faction, with only two gods in total. Seeing the two sincerely humble gods, Darkness did not strike immediately. Instead, she demonstrated her achievements with the Divine Text. Upon seeing this, the two gods willingly offered the star brimming with Divine Text.

Their rationale was straightforward: first, they definitely couldn’t win against her in a fight. Secondly, if pursuing the essence of Divine Power was the goal, why not let a more talented god do so?

Darkness graciously accepted their offer. The Ancient Divine Text revolving around the star was immediately reassembled into complete sentences. Like the previous one, this too was nothing but an inconsequential soliloquy. Yet, the mere power from a soliloquy like this was enough to prove just how formidable that so-called almighty god was.

"Thank you for your generosity. As a return, you may tell everyone that it was I who took your Ancient Divine Text," Darkness said.

The two gods nodded blankly; they would have done so anyway, even if Darkness hadn’t mentioned it. However, it certainly made a difference.
