Chapter 154: Chapter 33 The Secret of Black Dragon Tyl

Almost everyone who attended the banquet at the Imperial Palace had eaten beforehand. After all, getting food at such a place would be seen as somewhat degrading. However, Long Yi, being the honest person he was, genuinely thought he was there to eat. He ignored the warnings from Little Zi and Ai Lin and skipped lunch altogether, deciding to have a feast at the emperor’s expense.

At this point, Long Yi was so hungry he was seeing stars.

The good news was there was plenty of food, and nobody was touching it. He picked up a pure silver plate with gold edges, a stone-encrusted fork, and some food he had never seen before. He found a corner, watched the world go by, and ate while in a daze.

"You can’t eat this fruit straight away. It needs to be soaked in hard liquor, or else it will be bitter," a voice sounded next to him. When Long Yi turned to look, he saw Black Dragon Tyl. Like Long Yi, the old black dragon had an even larger plate filled to the brim with food.

"Uncle, where’d you get that plate?" Long Yi was more interested in the large plate.

"Hehe, not experienced yet, huh? I brought it myself," Tyl chuckled proudly.

"How did you... Ah, never mind, I get it." Long Yi initially wanted to ask Tyl how he managed to bring in such a large plate, but then it hit him -- the latter was a black dragon, an elder one at that. If he so wished, he could have carried in carriages worth of plates.

"I know what you’re thinking, but my Dragon Rider is long dead. I can’t open my space anymore. This was hidden inside my robe," the black dragon chortled, gesturing to his voluminous robe. He had a somewhat irreverent air about him.

"Impressive!" Long Yi expressed his admiration without reservation.

And so, one old and one young, one dragon and one man, stood far off in a corner of the garden, intently eating their food, watching the world go by, lost in their own thoughts.

"Have you met Yamir?" Black Dragon finally asked after finishing the food on his plate.

Long Yi glanced at the food still left on his plate, marveled at the speed the dragon consumed his, then nodded. "Yeah, a sister with a somewhat eccentric mind."

"Older sister? Eccentric?" Tyl couldn’t help but chuckle in response.

"Yeah, she said mysterious things and disappeared." Long Yi replied.

"If she had an abnormal mind, she would have lost her status as the ruler of the demon realm a long time ago," the black dragon sighed.

"Ruler of the demon realm? Is she powerful?" Long Yi countered. Of course, he knew the madwoman named Yamir was powerful, but he didn’t know to what extent.

"Powerful? She’s much stronger than either of us. Seventeen thousand years ago, she and her sister led a great army and conquered all the demon lords, establishing a unified realm. They have managed to hold their position, despite countless rebellions over these seventeen thousand years. Would you call that powerful?" Tyl said.

"Her sister? You mean Yavenny, right?" Long Yi immediately recalled that unforgettable night. His face turned red, and he rushed to eat a fruit of an unknown species which turned out to be incredibly bitter.

"Yes, that fake elf," Tyl responded.

"So, she’s that old..." A look of realization appeared on Long Yi’s face.

"That’s not the point!"

Bang!

A delicate hand smacked against Long Yi’s head as a scolding erupted, and Yaveny appeared out of thin air before him.

She still looked the same - a hot body wrapped in a thin membrane, the devil’s curved horns, and large wings. However, instead of her usual cold glare, her eyes were flickering like tiny flames.

"Yavenny?" Long Yi’s face heated up in embarrassment.

"You dare to show your true form here, aren’t you afraid of the contract?" Black Dragon asked with a frown.

"Hehe, young brother Long Yi helped me a lot, enabling me to regain some power. Those creatures won’t notice," Yaveny said, smugly.

Help? Long Yi thought hard but couldn’t recall doing anything. Wait, help? Then he remembered the rumors about the succubus. Could it be...

"I took advantage of this time to take care of some matters, but due to little brother Long Yi, my powers are making it increasingly difficult to suppress them, so I will be returning to the demon realm soon," Yavenny stated.

"Then why haven’t you hurried off to find somewhere more secluded, what are you doing here?" Tyl spoke, who seemed a bit impatient with Yavenny.

"Yo? Little dragon friend, don’t lose your patience. Your drop of dragon blood essence didn’t come in handy, aren’t you unwilling to accept that?" Yavenny cryptically responded.

Not useful? Long Yi was confused. Indeed, during his battle with Yamir, the dragon blood essence didn’t seem to be useful. But Yavenny’s expression suggested that she was referring to something else.

Yavenny took a step forward and whispered to Tyl, "Little dragon friend, your Dragon Rider died a long time ago, didn’t he? Without a Dragon Rider, your power is considerably limited, isn’t it?"

Although her voice was low, Long Yi heard it. What does she mean? Could it be that Black Dragon Tyl wants me to be his Dragon Rider? But that’s unlikely, right? An elder dragon like him should have felt the call of the Dragon Tomb by now. Why would he need a Dragon Rider? It’s not like he’ll need to fight.
