Chapter 151: Chapter 131 Elf Empress【Third Night Update】

Having seen off the last two guests, the elf sheathed his long knife with a stunning flourish.

"The Empress wishes to see you." said the elf.

"Huh? What?" Long Yi felt like he must have heard wrong.

"The Empress wishes to see you." the elf repeated.

"How did you find out?" Long Yi curiously asked, wondering how they found out since they had just been in a fight.

"We contacted the Empress a while ago. She wants to meet with you. Do you accept her invitation?" The elf questioned.

"Of course, we agree." They would surely regret it if they missed this opportunity.

"Please come with us." Two elves led Long Yi, Ai Lin, and Little Zi behind the Shining Silver shop. There was a small courtyard there, dominated by a large, lush tree, whose canopy completely blocked out the courtyard.

One of the elves began to sing in an arcane tune, and as his melody continued, the tree slowly split open. The resulting fissure shimmered with radiant, multicolored light.

"Ahead lies a tree hole passage that leads straight to the Elven Kingdom, please, enter." Another Elf tells Long Yi.

Wow! High-end, classy transportation! I must also try it today!

Long Yi had heard before, more than once, about the discomforts that could come from teleportation - nausea, fatigue, general malaise, amongst other things. But he found the experience exhilarating. The sensation of weightlessness was highly nostalgic to him!

The teleportation completed, and a verdant landscape stretched out before them. The vast green kingdom lay exposed before their eyes.

Before the sensation of weightlessness had dissipated, several silver dragons descended from the sky. Female elf Dragon Knights hopped down from their backs and approached Long Yi. Looking him in the eye, they said, "Human, the Empress is waiting for you."

Long Yi could tell they were on the outskirts of the Elven Kingdom. In the distance, he could see magnificent white buildings. But the most eye-catching sight of all was the towering tree rising behind the grand buildings.

"Isn’t that the World Tree?"

Perched atop a dragon saddle, Long Yi yelled, holding tightly onto the waist of a female elf Dragon Knight. The Silver Dragon was leisurely gliding through the sky, heading towards the highest building.

"No, that is a sapling of the World Tree." The elf answered.

A sapling this big?!

Long Yi visualized every tall building he could remember. Even considering Earth, he didn’t think there was any building taller than this tree.

And this was just a sapling. How big would the actual World Tree be?

The Silver Dragon had landed. Long Yi and Ai Lin dismounted, while Little Zi, who could fly, saved them some trouble.

Immediately after the Silver Dragon landed, a young girl elegantly dressed darted towards them, her eyes filled with anticipation. Elves along her path knelt and paid their respects.

"Excuse me, you are Mr. Long Yi, aren’t you?"

Huh? Am I that famous? Even the elven Empress knows my name.

"Yes, I am Long Yi. And you are the Elven Empress?" Long Yi asked in return.

"Yes, I am the current Elven Empress, Christa. I have waited for this day for far too long, great Silver Dragon Knight!" Empress Christa’s face was flush with excitement. She grabbed Long Yi’s arm and carefully pulled out a small pouch from her bosom.

"Mr. Long Yi, to prove that you are indeed Mr. Long Yi, you should know how to use this." Christa then handed over the pouch. Long Yi squeezed it and instantly his heart began to race.

This nostalgic feeling!

No longer pretending, Long Yi emptied the contents of the bag onto the ground. Out tumbled a pair of black metal parts with springs, catches, and metal tubes.

"One!"

"Two!"

"Three!"

Long Yi began counting down, seamlessly assembling the parts.

"Ten!"

He’d assembled a black handgun. Its familiar feel and weight, and the nostalgic smell of gun oil stirred his emotions.

"For you!" Christa lifted her hand presenting a honey-colored bullet.

Click! Ka-cha!

Bang!

A shot, the recoil didn’t make Long Yi’s arm budge an inch. With his current brute strength, never mind shooting a gun, even firing a 150mm cannon barehanded wouldn’t be a problem!

"As expected, you truly are the Silver Dragon Knight!" Christa’s incredibly excited! "Ah right, Silver Dragon has said that if it took you more than ten seconds to assemble the gun, I should tell you that you’ve fallen behind."

"Yeah, I’ve fallen behind!" Long Yi sighed. He used to practice daily and could assemble the gun within five seconds at his best. But he had just not touched it in a long time. How could he not fall behind?

But Long Yi’s melancholy didn’t last long, for he then came across a major problem.

"You’re saying... the Silver Dragon told you to tell me?" Long Yi was stunned.

What is Silver Dragon? It’s a fighter jet! Although it’s an advanced sixth-generation fighter, it’s still a fighter jet. Can a fighter say words? Of course not! Could the warning audio played by the onboard computer be considered speech?

"Wait a moment, let’s confirm something first, Empress. The Silver Dragon you’re talking about, and the Silver Dragon I’m referring to, they’re the same Silver Dragon, right?" Long Yi began to wonder.

"Of course, they are! Silver Dragon guessed that you would definitely be puzzled, so he had me draw this picture." Christa handed over a drawing. It was a side-view of a fighter jet. There was no doubt it was a fighter jet.

"But from what I remember, my Silver Dragon, it can’t talk." Long Yi still couldn’t understand.

"Yes, Silver Dragon was severely injured previously and couldn’t speak at all. But after we treated it, it regained the ability to speak!" Christa, the Elf Empress, looked at Long Yi as if she was boasting her achievement.

"Really, I really appreciate it!" Long Yi also said ’excitedly’.

Although Long Yi didn’t know why, the fact that his fighter jet was suddenly able to speak was definitely related to this unscientific group of elves.

"Compared to the care that Silver Dragon gave to our elf race, this is nothing." Christa remained passionate and excited. "Ah! I apologize for my excitement that has left you standing here. It’s very impolite of me. Please follow me. I’ve prepared snacks for you and your companions."

The Elf Empress Christa led the way ahead, with Long Yi following at her side. On both sides were emotionless elven guards - a stark contrast indeed.

Long Yi asked this question.

Christa told Long Yi that she hasn’t been the empress for a long time, just for a humble hundred years. Before that, she spent most of her time in the human world, hence her character is starkly different from the common elves. But it’s just a matter of character, the knowledge and civilization of the elves are passed down, so the character wouldn’t matter.

The spacious round table was filled with various snacks. Long Yi didn’t stand on ceremony and started to eat. Christa, on the other hand, was telling Long Yi about Silver Dragon.

"Ever since Silver Dragon has recovered, he has been longing to find you, Dragon Knight Long Yi. But as you know, we elves are not good at interacting with humans. Hundreds of years later, Silver Dragon has no idea whether you’re still alive - forgive me for saying so, but as you know, human life is fleeting. So, he left these things for us, the empresses, to pass down from generation to generation until the day when we find you. It is really unexpected that you appeared eight thousand years later! And you are still a human! How did you survive these eight thousand years?"

"I didn’t survive for eight thousand years. I am only eighteen now." Long Yi said.

"Eighteen? So, you...You spent these eight thousand years in the temporal rift?" Christa asked in surprise.

"Who knows? I don’t even know what happened." Long Yi was truly clueless now.

"Also, even this world is incredibly mysterious, let alone the mysterious universe. Silver Dragon once said that you guys are at war with a powerful enemy, pouring all of your strength into the war. Perhaps it’s this strength that is causing the disorder in time, causing you to appear eight thousand years later than Silver Dragon." Christa explained.

"I don’t know, now, I really don’t know." Long Yi sighed, his mind thoroughly muddled.

"Brother Long ..." Ai Lin seemed to want to say something, but stopped. She was completely at a loss about what the elves and Long Yi were talking about, but she was too intimidated to ask.

"Don’t worry, I am totally confused right now too. Once I figure out what’s happened, I’ll explain it to you." Long Yi said.

"Alright..." Ai Lin responded weakly.

"So, Dragon Knight Long Yi, is the turbojet engine in your possession?" Christa asked, this is probably the thing the elves cared about the most.

"Yes, it’s with me." Long Yi said.

"Then, please keep it well. Now, Silver Dragon is in phase space with the World Tree, we do not know when the phase space will be reconnected to our Plane. As soon as it enters the connection trajectory, we will immediately inform Silver Dragon about you, Dragon Knight Long Yi. I believe that after eight thousand years of waiting, Silver Dragon must be very excited."

"Yes, he must be." Long Yi said.

I’m not sure whether it is excited or not, but my brain is almost melting now.

Long Yi initially thought that the Elf Empress would ask him to leave the engine behind. In essence, he did not trust these elves, as he did not have any interaction with them. If they asked for it, he might have to go to some effort. However, he did not expect that Christa did not want the engine at all, which made Long Yi feel like he was being somewhat villainous.

According to the Elf Empress, she hoped that Long Yi would stay in the elf kingdom until the emergence of Silver Dragon. But this was clearly impossible—who knew when the World Tree hidden in phase space would emerge.

It seemed pointless to stay any longer. He was unfamiliar with the elf kingdom, and apart from the Elf Empress, there were only emotionless fellas around. Severely lacking in amusement, the empress had serious matters to attend to, she certainly couldn’t spend all day with him. (To be continued.
