Chapter 1292: Chapter 1040: Time-Space Deviation
It was time to leave.
Long Yi looked at the massive Cosmic Accelerator before him and told himself.
The threat of the Dragon Clan had been lifted, and the Ancient Mage Tower had permanently hidden itself away. Now, it was finally time to leave.
"Aren’t you going to say goodbye to them before you leave?" Ai Lin asked Long Yi beside him. The ’them’ in Ai Lin’s mouth naturally referred to the Emperor Saint Jialin of The Divine Auffa Empire and the Emperor Saint Danze of the Sanctuary Empire, as well as the many others who were acquainted with Long Yi.
"There’s no need, after all, when I came here, I didn’t notify anyone, so naturally, when I leave, there is no need to let them know," Long Yi said.
"You sound quite nonchalant about it," Silverlight said.
"It’s not just sounding nonchalant, I am indeed such a nonchalant person," Long Yi said with a smile.
"It’s said that Isrile and Ruosha are also considered invincible in the Mid Plane. This essentially means that once we enter the Mid Plane, as long as we immediately find a way to teleport, then we can only head straight for the Upper Plane!" Long Yi said excitedly.
"What, don’t you want to go on a killing spree in the Mid Plane anymore?" Little Zi suddenly appeared beside Long Yi and asked.
"I do feel like being lazy once in a while, haha."
"I wonder what delicious things there are in the Mid Plane," Xiaodie said with a face full of anticipation.
It was Suolin, however, who stood there silently, pursing her lips, deep in thought.
"Well then, let’s set off!"
With a grand gesture from Long Yi, the Cosmic Accelerator began to charge. Since everything had been prepared in advance, the Cosmic Accelerator had not been used for a very long time to ensure a full charge. The immense Cosmic Accelerator lit up its countless runes from the tail end to the front end. Most of these runes had been rearranged and optimized by Ai Lin and Little Zi to ensure the successful opening of a plane channel.
To allow this group of individuals with extremely high energy levels to pass through, Long Yi had specifically put the Cosmic Accelerator in a fully charged state, operating at maximum power. Even so, it took close to an hour from the start of charging until it was fully charged.
Eventually, when a light ball, as large as an asteroid, appeared, Long Yi knew the Teleportation Gate was successfully established.
Then, seeing the massive runes that appeared around the gate was the doing of Isrile and Ruosha, who had cast a Reverse Summoning spell in the Mid Plane in response to the gate’s presence.
"Let’s go!" Long Yi clapped the Cosmic Accelerator, storing it in his private space, and then he and the others joined hands and charged into the Teleportation Gate.
The light flickered, and for how long it lasted, nobody knew. When Long Yi came to his senses, he was standing on a scorched earth, and not far away, a dark golden dragon was battling a Giant Monster. The Giant Monster seemed like a standing Dragon Clan member, but it was generally much larger, standing there over fifty meters tall and appearing to be made entirely of muscle and metal—with exposed flesh that was utterly ferocious. The dark gold dragon’s powerful Fighting Aura Slash could not completely kill it in one blow but only damaged its metal parts.
A dark golden dragon? Wasn’t that Suolin?
Long Yi roared and summoned his Fine Gold Avatar, gripping a golden Greatsword in both hands and slashing down heavily. There was a clang as the Greatsword cut off one of the Giant Monster’s arms but got stuck on its metallic shoulder.
Crap! It’s this hard?
Long Yi had never expected to come across a monster his Greatsword could not cleave in two!
Boom! The power of the giant exploded in its entirety, and a glow surfaced on the surface of the golden Greatsword.
"Break for me!"
Long Yi didn’t even lift the Greatsword; he just pressed down with brute force and energy. Meanwhile, Suolin had also completed her attack.
The dragon’s tail struck heavily against the Giant Monster’s waist, and under the simultaneous strike of two forces, the Giant Monster was completely severed in the middle!
Clang!
The sound of metal clashing echoed as a black Tetrahedron about three meters tall was cut out by Long Yi’s Greatsword. The muscle that had originally adhered to the metal transformed into huge Worms that surged towards the Tetrahedron, which then intertwined with each other to form a sphere full of tentacles.
"Damn, that’s disgusting!"
Long Yi switched to a black Greatsword from his private space, with Giant’s power surging wildly as two Arrays, one above and one below, enveloped the spherical mass. A gravitational pull then hoisted the sphere into the air, with both Arrays spinning rapidly and grinding the sphere completely to dust from both ends!
Amidst the heavy metallic noise, the glowing Tetrahedron fell to the ground.
Long Yi walked over and took a glance, discovering that this tetrahedron was completely different from the one used to preserve the Divine Envoy. Although structurally similar, the array on top was different.
Clang!
Long Yi fiercely struck the tetrahedron’s surface with his sword, leaving a huge gash from which a blood-like liquid flowed out. Then, the damaged tetrahedron opened automatically. Inside was a person curled up, with pale skin, a large head, and an emaciated body, like a malnourished child.
"Well, maybe now that we have some time, what’s going on here?" Long Yi asked Suolin.
"If you’re asking about this monster, I must tell you I don’t know; if you’re asking about what happened to us, I can tell you we encountered a space-time disruption, and now we are in a Plane that is not what we imagined, but as for the time, I’m not sure either," Suolin said.
"You can’t be serious, isn’t this just too tragic? Space-time travel? Wasn’t it Plane travel?" Long Yi started scratching his head.
"Actually, Plane travel is space-time travel, didn’t you know? Wait a minute, why am I able to tell you this part now?" After Suolin spoke, even she was surprised.
"Plane travel is space-time travel?" Long Yi’s eyes bulged in astonishment.
"Could something unexpected have happened that caused an issue with the rules of time? Let me try..." Suolin began to tell Long Yi something, but after she spoke, her expression froze for a while before she finally gathered herself: "It seems that the rules of time are still stable, it’s just that due to some internal mishaps, I can now tell you some things I wasn’t supposed to. Maybe it’s because you personally experienced the space-time disturbance?"
"Never mind the reason for now, let’s see what you can tell me quickly," Long Yi urged, moving closer.
"Regarding Plane travel, it is essentially space-time travel. The passage of time between Planes is completely different. The closer to the Upper Plane you get, the slower time moves. However, there are passages that interconnect Planes, which can be utilized, hence the effectiveness of Teleportation Gates," Suolin explained.
"Wait, if time is different, does that mean, if I spent a year in the Lower Plane, maybe only a day has passed for Isrile and the others in the Middle Plane?" Long Yi asked.
"It’s possible," Suolin said.
"But we’ve been in contact before, so the time there should be similar."
"This is because there are interconnecting passages between Planes, and the time between two Planes is always aligned. Every time you use a Plane passage, the time is immediately calibrated. But this time, we didn’t use a Plane passage; instead, we opened a new one ourselves. And this new passage does not have the ability to align time, hence we encountered a time disturbance," Suolin explained.
"Damn, does that mean we might have arrived at a time before Isrile and Ruosha got here, or after they’ve left?" Long Yi began to get nervous.
"I don’t know about that. My time calibration device is currently not working, and I think instead of waiting for it to recover, we should ask this guy," she said.
Suolin pointed to the person inside the tetrahedron, who was struggling to prop themselves up.
Long Yi walked over, placed his hand on the person’s head, and channeled the power of the Giants, but he did not feel any energy feedback from the person.
This person had no energy at all, which was odd. In this multiverse, almost all life forms except for humans have energy.
"I, where is this?" the man began to speak with a trembling voice, seemingly inarticulate.
"Actually, that’s exactly the answer we’re hoping you could give us," Long Yi said.
The man looked up at Long Yi, first with confusion in his eyes, then filled with immense surprise: "Long Yi! You are Long Yi!"
Long Yi was even more perplexed. Was this a world where one could randomly recognize him like picking up a stray cat or dog?
"Who are you?" Long Yi asked.
"I am... I am Fang Zuo... I am the Crown Prince of the Azure Sky Empire. I remember being captured, stuffed into a black box, and then I didn’t know anything after that. It seemed like I was dreaming, dreaming that I kept destroying something," Fang Zuo seemed somewhat distracted, muttering to himself.
"Wait, if you’re the Crown Prince of the Azure Sky Empire, then you must know Ruosha and Isrile, right?" Long Yi said.
"Lady Ruosha? Yes! I know! Oh my god, I must warn Lady Ruosha, those mysterious people, they call themselves God Chasers, they want to eradicate Lady Ruosha and Isrile!" Fang Zuo tried to get up, but his frail legs couldn’t support his body.
Long Yi saw that he was about to fall and quickly caught his arm, only to hear a snap—the arm was broken!
"How long has it been since you exercised, to be so calcium-deficient you’ve got osteoporosis," Long Yi couldn’t help but comment sarcastically, then immediately cast a Magic spell to fix his arm. Before Fang Zuo could even feel the pain, his arm was completely restored. Long Yi then cast spells to fully restore Fang Zuo’s body functions, though his head was still too heavy, making him wobble as he walked.
"I think even if we did deviate from the original time, we couldn’t have strayed too far, right?" Long Yi wrapped Fang Zuo in a large robe and then said to Suolin, who was beside him.
"It seems likely," Suolin nodded in agreement. (To be continued. If you like this work, you are welcome to vote for it with recommendation tickets and monthly tickets at qidian.com. Your support is my greatest motivation. Mobile users, please read at m.qidian.com.)
