Chapter 128: Chapter 114: Second Transmission?

Long Yi’s exaggerated gestures combined with his elaborate performance immediately provoked laughter from the crowd. It was clear to everyone that no matter how naive Long Yi might appear, he certainly wasn’t as ignorant as his act led on. Everyone there was well aware that this was Long Yi’s way of making fun of Joseph.

Joseph’s face turned beet red. He wanted to retort, but what could he possibly say? Even the Iron Hand Lin En had been defeated by Long Yi. How could he possibly stand a chance against Long Yi? Joseph hung his head in silence, laboriously helped Lin En up, and the two slowly left the tent.

Watching the two leave, Long Yi was somewhat surprised, "This kid, he’s not quite like the usual young nobles, he could actually hold it in? Well, that makes sense. If even a high-born noble couldn’t maintain this level of composure, they would simply be waiting for their downfall. The family wouldn’t need to punish him, they wouldn’t tolerate his presence.

Though Long Yi was talking to himself, several of the boys nearby turned red. Clearly, Long’s remarks were not intended for their ears. But, the words of the speaker unintentionally stirred thoughts in the listeners. Most people would assume nobles to be polite, humble, and low-profiled. However, these young children wouldn’t understand this. Their natural instincts allowed them to exploit their status and power to a great extent. But they were not stupid. They could naturally sense what was happening around them. However, the often stern looks in their parents’ eyes when their families had to clean up their mess began to make them think.

Perhaps they may not be able to remain in the family as Long Yi had said?

Long Yi certainly didn’t have time to educate children. Unaware, his casual comment unintentionally influenced some children’s mindset, to the extent that it surprised their families when they noticed the changes in their children.

By now, the honest Long Yi had returned to his tent with spoils of victory, and a group of people followed him into his slightly larger tent.

Long Yi briefly described the battle. In his opinion, his victory was a result of not using any weapons during the duel. Once he used the Dragon-slaying Sword, even with Long Yi’s astonishing strength, it was impossible to overtake Lin En’s speed. Therefore, Long Yi decided to fight Lin En using punches and kicks, something Lin En hadn’t anticipated. In the end, Long Yi, with all seriousness, emerged with a distinct victory. On the way back to the restaurant with Lin En, Long Yi kept pondering over the fight, and even now, he deeply reviewed his actions.

Long Yi told the girls and dragons that they must take every battle seriously, regardless of whether they were holding back or not. They could look down on their opponents, but once the battle began, they had to treat every enemy with utmost seriousness.

Ai Lin made a mental note of Long Yi’s words, firmly believing in his experience, particularly when it sounded utterly convincing.

Finally, Ai Lin left carrying Little Fairy Dragon, and Little Zi was forcibly dragged away by Ai Lin.

Bajie occupied half of the tent, with Shadow Dragon sleeping on top of him.

Long Yi lay down, holding the elf dagger in the palm of his hand. First thing he felt was the precision of the metal processing, even though it was a sheath. The sheath was extremely smooth to touch, and although it was composed of two pieces of wood, he couldn’t discern a seam.

Long Yi unlocked the three iron hoops on the sheath, and the two halves were instantly separated. This smooth line on the sheath wasn’t hidden with paint, nor was it forced together; rather, both sides of the sheath were too flat, and naturally fit together.

This was a distinctive feature of elven weapons, all of which were dismountable. Any part could be disassembled, and all the parts were interchangeable.

Long Yi put the sheath back together, then turned his attention to the hilt of the dagger.

Suddenly, his eyes widened in shock.

Because he saw something that was absolutely impossible in this world!

A screw!

A cross-head screw!

Damn! Did I see it wrong?

Long Yi blinked forcefully, flipping it over with a trembling hand.

Damn! It’s actually a nut!

A screw and a nut! Did the elves invent this themselves?

Long Yi reached out, unscrewed the screw directly with his fingernails. Then he saw a tiny code at the bottom of the nut.

It’s a standard four millimeter screw!

Oh my God! Has someone else also traversed through time like me? And landed in the elven territory? Helping the elves establish a modern industrial system?

If that’s the case...

That would be fantastic!

But can I rely on this?

When Long Yi first arrived in this world, the intense loneliness prompted him to look for other travelers. However, no message indicated the existence of another world.

But now, the screw with the international standard symbol proves that Long Yi is not alone in this world!

Wait, did that person know how to manufacture machine tools?

Long Yi carefully observed the shape of the screw, promptly dismissing that theory. Because the screw wasn’t made by machine processing but seemed to be a product of casting and then precise grinding! The threads on the screw didn’t show any signs of being cut in a uniform spiral!

A precisely four millimeters screw like this, it’s impossible to be handmade!

So what’s the identity of that traveler?

Now, Long Yi has become increasingly interested in the Elf race!

That traveler didn’t have equipment, yet they managed to create this. Perhaps, they have some precise measuring devices, like a caliper?

If that’s the case, finding them might be the key to fixing my turbofan engine?

Ever since Long Yi got back the turbofan engine, he had been thinking of ways to fix it. However, a product of modern precision industry would even be damaged by careful use. Let alone dropping into the sea. From Long Yi’s point of view, he firstly needed to push forward the technological revolution for the Dwarves. Wait for them to develop their industry into a precision industrial system. And then let them help with the repairs.

Originally, Long Yi thought it was going to be a ten, twenty-year process. However, the existence of this screw gave Long Yi hope. Regardless of where this screw originated from, its designer must have mastered a relatively precise metalworking technology. Maybe it won’t necessarily be helpful, but he ought to try his luck!

Long Yi decided, after getting home, he would immediately find Mentor Yavenny. No matter what peculiar request the mentor proposed, as long as it could help him restore his beloved aircraft, he would oblige!

After a restful night, Long Yi woke up early the next morning to find two girls from the neighboring tent already waiting outside. To not disturb Long Yi, they’ve been near their own tent quietly whispering. Seeing Long Yi appear, Ai Lin’s face quickly flushed red before regaining its normal color. She calmly approached Long Yi. Little Zi was grinning as if she knew an earth-shattering secret.

After cleaning up, they ate a little something at the restaurant in front. The bearded owner told Long Yi that the girl was taken away by some supply team last night. Before that, Joseph returned to the Imperial City with the severely injured Lin En. Obviously, they needed to pave the way for Joseph’s mistake first, and smooth some connections.

Of course, this matter was basically irrelevant to Long Yi.

Long Yi and his companions set off once again, following the map towards Silver Dragon Lake.

The Silver Dragon appeared not too long ago, at least, in the epic tales from three thousand years ago, a Golden Dragon appeared, but not a Silver Dragon. Records of the Silver Dragon started appearing in the recent thousand years.

Lore has it that Silver Dragon Lake is where the first Silver Dragon was born. It is said the newborn Silver Dragon was very weak, and it was only after the Elves took care of it that it recovered. The healthy Silver Dragon then declared eternal friendship with the Elves. It’s common knowledge that the relationship between the Silver Dragon Clan and the Elves is excellent. The first Silver Dragon Knight was even an Elf. In most cases, Silver Dragon Knights were rarely seen, but when they appeared, Elves were likely present.

What’s odd is, according to the lore, the Silver Dragon Clan is not bound by the Dragon Clan Council. As a newborn dragon species, the Silver Dragon Clan has a natural distaste for the Council. The Council made several requests for the Silver Dragon Clan to send representatives, but they were all declined. And it seemed like the Elves didn’t give face to the Dragon Clan, thoroughly supporting the Silver Dragon Clan.

Later, the Silver Dragon Clan gradually evolved into the Shadow Silver Dragons, known for their outstanding martial auras in alliance with Dragon Knights, and the Mithril Dragons, known for their exceptional magical abilities. These two dragon species formally entered the Dragon Clan Council, giving it some face. As for the original Silver Dragon Clan, the Council gradually let it be.

Ai Lin shared these secret stories with Long Yi along the way, allowing him to gain some insight into the so-called Silver Dragon Clan. As a Silver Dragon Knight, Ai Lin naturally paid more attention to silver matters from a young age. She didn’t know at the time that her dragon turned out to be a hybrid of Mithril and Shadow Silver.

What Long Yi found strange was that the Dragon Clan was not actually united internally. Especially the Silver Dragon, which was independent of the Dragon Clan. More incredulously, shouldn’t the Silver Dragon be considered a dragon? Why did it INSIST on not joining the Dragon Clan Council? From Long Yi’s human perspective, any opportunity for advancement is not only a chance for oneself, but for one’s race too.

Of course, it’s also possible this is a game of telephone with errors upon errors. Misunderstandings could be present here. Lore is just lore. It’s been so many years, who’s to say if parts have been deleted or embellished?

Along the way, Long Yi and his companions were extremely lucky. They encountered numerous monsters. Of course, there were plenty of lower-level ones rated Tier 3 and below. They also ran into those at levels six and seven several times. Facing formidable opponents, Ai Lin was not adapting well at the beginning, resulting in multiple injuries. Long Yi wanted to help a few times, but seeing the girl’s stubborn gaze, he knew if he helped, despite Ai Lin’s gratitude, it would cause psychic trauma for her.

"Ai Lin! I believe in you! Keep going!" So, Long Yi decisively took on the role of the cheerleading squad. Finally, Ai Lin found her unique fighting style after being injured repeatedly. Her moves became increasingly nimble, attacks more decisive. Along the way, she was consistently advancing her ranks!

Fourteen floors!

With the light soaring to the sky, an envious Long Yi witnessed the promotion. This promotion was as facile as playing! He forgot that Ai Lin’s dragon and she have completely fused into one. If their promotion was any slower, that would have been strange.
