Chapter 1183: Chapter 931: The Role Played

Ai Lin left the spaceship directly, and the Lizardman was very clear about Elsa’s strength, so he did not dare to stop her. Of course, he definitely would not stop his attacks because of this.

Returning to where the Mountain Giants were, Elsa asked Old Stone Fist, "How intense is the Lizardman’s attack? Do you need my help?"

Old Stone Fist laughed, "Although we are not as powerful as you, it is still extremely difficult for the Lizardman’s attacks to break through the Yellow Sands."

In Elsa’s eyes, the Lizardman could not really be considered a typical villain. He also just felt that he had been deceived and almost died here, surely filled with dissatisfaction.

But, at that moment, Elsa’s brows furrowed. She thought of something, that the Lizardman Crown Prince had been trapped here not for a day or two, but for an extremely long time. If their fleet had started searching immediately, including the time to travel between planes, it definitely would not have taken this long. Most importantly, the Lizardman Crown Prince had always been in the building where the Teleportation Gate was located, which would have been easy to find!

But why now? It had not been long since Elsa left, yet the Lizardman Crown Prince had summoned warships. Elsa asked herself if she would have been trapped in the desert for so long and had almost died, would she not want revenge after waking up?

But the reason for the prince’s revenge was rather that the Prophet had deceived him.

This was somewhat incomprehensible.

Could it be that he had no reaction at all to the desert that had nearly killed him, especially when he learned that the sands were not naturally formed but were artificially controlled?

What exactly was hidden behind these phenomena?

With a full belly of questions, Elsa boarded the Teleportation Array. At this time, the Teleportation Array had finally been restored. The Prophets had specifically charged the Teleportation Array for Elsa.

But the moment the teleportation was completed, Elsa used her own teleportation magic to transport herself to a nearby planet. She hoped to figure out what had happened.

After Elsa "left," the Lizardman’s attack intensified. But the Lord of Yellow Sands, with his huge size, rendered all the attacks of the warships intangible. To the Mountain Giants, this was nothing at all. The energy stored within the grand Cosmic Stone was far from running out, and the cannon fire of the warships was not strong enough to penetrate the Yellow Sands.

However, on the other side of the planet, a new warship completed its space teleportation. This warship’s shape was completely different from the Lizardman’s. Its lines were smoother, and it was entirely black with strangely shaped symbols on it.

Elsa cast her magic and slowly approached the black warship. The warship was surrounded by an anti-energy field that guaranteed it would not be detected by magic. Such a magic should have been recently studied by the Celestial Clan, so how come this black warship was already equipped with it? Could this be a warship of the Celestial Clan?

As Elsa pondered this, the hatch at the bottom of the warship opened, and some legless fighters lined up behind the hatch.

Snake People?

Elsa’s eyes widened.

The Snake People, like the Lizardman, had scaly bodies, but the difference was that the Snake People had no legs, only a pair of weak upper limbs that could retract into their bodies.

First, the Lizardman, and now the Snake People. What are these half-beasts planning to do?

A total of fifty Snake People leapt from the spaceship, and the black spaceship immediately left silently and swiftly. Elsa immediately followed, as it was clear the Snake People had a specific destination in mind; they headed straight for the position of a gate on the planet.

Casting spells and landing, the Snake People accomplished the entire process in one breath.

Then they quickly assembled near the gate, surrounded in a circle, their bodies emanating strange runes. Subsequently, the gate actually began to descend!

What did this mean?

As it disappeared without a trace, Elsa finally approached the gate, where traces of spellcasting still lingered in the space. In Elsa’s vision, underneath the entire gate channel, there were various trigger-type Arrays. If these Arrays were activated, nothing particularly remarkable would happen, but the spellcasters would receive a warning.

Elsa carefully avoided all traps and tracked down the Snake People.

The gate had reached its end, where three Snake People stood guard, but the rest had vanished. Elsa, transforming into a semi-energy state, circumvented all the Snake People guards and quickly found the location of the Snake People.

And the person meeting with the Snake People turned out to be Jiana’s grandson!

"Is the Eye of the Ancestor really in this place?" asked a Snake Person.

"Yes, General, I have seen it with my own eyes. The Eye of the Ancestor is hidden in this place," Jiana’s grandson said.

"Heh, that foolish Elsa, she has no idea. Jiana’s will was actually for her to have a look at the Eye of the Ancestor. By the time she foolishly rushes to the supposed ancient excavation site, we would have already left with the Eye of the Ancestor," hissed the Snake Person General with a laugh.

"Yes, General! This is all my credit! The God Chasers will definitely reward me for this, right?" Jiana’s grandson said excitedly.

"Of course! Lord God Chaser specifically instructed us before we set out that we must personally deliver your special reward to you!" said the Snake People General.

"A special reward! Hahaha! This is really too helpful! A special reward from Lord God Chaser! What could it possibly be?" Clearly, the young man could hardly wait.

The Snake People General took out a pill from his personal space that was about the size of a thumb. It appeared crude in craftsmanship, completely black, and seemed like a stone, yet energy brewed within it!

"Contained within is a mighty power, just eat it, and soon you will become a true powerhouse!" the Snake People General said as he handed over the pill.

Upon seeing the pill, the young man’s breathing immediately grew heavier.

"Hahahaha! This is my glory! This is the moment I’ve dreamt of!" The young man snatched the pill and swallowed it without delay.

Almost at the same time, an inexplicable, intense pain emanated from his abdomen! Following that, his vision darkened, and he fell to the ground.

The Snake People General sneered, waved his hand, and all the Snake People quickly left the area with him.

Only then did Elsa quietly follow, but as she passed by the young man. The nearly silent youth suddenly opened his eyes, a smile on his face, and said with difficulty, "Grandmother, my mission too is now complete, history cannot be altered! Now, it’s time for me to follow in your footsteps!"

Elsa was immediately frozen on the spot; the meaning of his words couldn’t be clearer. This young man somehow also knew what was about to happen and, although clearly not a good person in the prophecy, still chose not to make any changes, earnestly playing out his role as foretold. Elsa couldn’t comprehend such a lifestyle of these Prophets, but it seemed at least that this young man was not as malicious as he appeared.

Was this his way of gracefully accepting fate?

Elsa didn’t understand, nor did she care to figure it out, since everyone has their own ambitions.

The Snake People swiftly navigated through the underground, after all, this subterranean world was vast. However, what puzzled Elsa was that not a single person was present on the path the Snake People were traveling.

Could it be everyone’s rest time? Or perhaps everyone here knew what was about to happen, silently witnessing everything transpiring?

Full of questions, Elsa eventually followed the Snake People to the front of a building guarded by only one sentinel. The sentinel didn’t have any weapons, merely patrolling back and forth bare-handed. And from time to time, he looked at the magic timer on his wrist. At a certain time, the sentinel, as if pardoned, hurriedly left the place, and the Snake People General immediately led all the Snake People to the door.

"It seems the information that young man gave us is spot-on. These people strictly operate on time, without any deviations. It looks like this time we’ll be able to smoothly take the Eye of the Ancestor with us," whispered an aide by the General’s side.

"Hmph, of course, it’s all Lord God Chaser’s brilliant strategizing. He knew these so-called Prophets are just a bunch of rigid fools; no matter what the Eye of the Ancestor shows them, even if they clearly know we’re here, they would never try to stop us," said the Snake People General.

"No way? Can they really be that obstinate?" the aide said in astonishment.

"They’re even more inflexible than you think," the General said with a laugh.

"Well, if they weren’t like this, our operation wouldn’t have gone so smoothly this time!" the aide laughed as well. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎

The General took out a metal device from his personal space and walked forward holding it in his palm. As they reached the building’s entrance, a ray of light swept over, and the door immediately opened.

"That kid didn’t deceive us after all! Let’s go!"

The General said, joyous.

A group of Snake People, followed by the General, rushed into the building, with Elsa right behind them. The building was a warehouse, neatly stacked with all sorts of supplies. Elsa found it hard to believe that someone would keep something important here. Especially something like the Eye of the Ancestor that sounded so precious—a treasure upon which the Prophets depended.

However, when Elsa walked through a corridor and finally came to the front of a huge warehouse, she understood why the Eye of the Ancestor was here.

Because the Eye of the Ancestor was simply too big.

It was a gigantic metal structure about three hundred meters in size, shaped like an eyeball and entirely silver, covered in intricate runes. A massive pupil incessantly ejected tremendous energy, which, instead of dissipating, was absorbed back by the runes on the structure’s surface, completing a cycle.

Elsa was uncertain about what exactly the Eye of the Ancestor was, as it seemed to be a living entity but might not have been intended for such use, considering its apparent Giant style of creation.

When the Snake People General laid eyes on the Eye of the Ancestor, he too was taken aback. He had followed Lord God Chaser’s orders and came here, luring the young man with material temptation to help them reach this warehouse, all to steal the Eye of the Ancestor. However, no one had ever informed him that the Eye of the Ancestor could be so enormous!

None among them had a personal space large enough to accommodate it; furthermore, considering the degree to which the Eye of the Ancestor was emitting energy, they might not manage to store it even if they did have such a vast space.

What should they do now? (To be continued. If you enjoy this work, please visit Qidian (qidian.com) to cast your recommendation and monthly tickets, your support is my greatest motivation. Mobile users please visit m.qidian.com to read.)
