Chapter 1027: Chapter 780: The Bound Divine Envoy
"Damn it!" Long Yi bellowed.
He hadn’t expected the seeds to reach such a level, capable of tearing through space as soon as they matured!
"We must warn every person on every planet! Check every planet!"
Long Yi roared.

"Found it!" Long Yi shouted, charging directly toward the great tree, as the tree itself split open for Long Yi to rush into. Ai Lin, Silverlight, Little Zi, and Xiaodie all charged in as well.
The tree hole was a passage leading straight down, made entirely of roots, with energy circulating around it, speeding up Long Yi and the others.
"What did you find?" Ai Lin asked.
"The real core of this tree!" Long Yi declared loudly.
It turned out that the true core of the tree was not the part above the ground. That was just one seed, and when that seed was destroyed, the true core of the tree would awaken. The countless roots spread out from the modified seed by Long Yi were there to find this true core.
Racing down the roots, they eventually reached a vast underground space entwined with countless roots, and among them, Long Yi found that core.
But when Long Yi saw the true face of the core, he jumped in surprise.
"Divine Envoy girl?"
Suspended among the roots was indeed the Divine Envoy girl!
"Giant?"

Holding the Cosmic Stone Greatsword, Long Yi charged towards the Divine Envoy, but a rule infused with Divine Power directly knocked Long Yi away.
"I have acquired Divine Power, I am a god, I am omnipotent! I will devour this entire plane, and when this plane is completely devoured, I will become one with it and move to the next plane. In the end, I will become the only one in the entire multiverse!"
The voice thundered.
"In theory that doesn’t sound too bad, but as a tree, even if you become the only one in the multiverse, you are still just a tree in the end."
Long Yi took a few slow steps forward. The eating serpent emerged from his arm, instantly entwining with the rules binding the Divine Envoy. The eating serpent’s ability was to devour, while the enemy’s power was to bind. The enemy’s rules immediately bound the eating serpent, and it unhesitatingly began to devour. Sensing that the eating serpent was devouring it, the rule burst forth with Divine Power to counter the eating serpent. "What is called precious also has a value, and when that value is surpassed by the significance of what I’m doing, then decisively using it up is not something to feel heartache over. In my eyes, the safety of the entire plane is far too important compared to this bit of Divine Power," Long Yi said.
"I understand," the Divine Envoy weakly nodded. "So this is what self-sacrifice is, something even God failed to understand till death."
At this point, a dazzling light burst forth from the Divine Envoy’s eyes, shooting straight into Long Yi’s!
"You..."
As soon as Long Yi uttered the word ’you’, he felt countless Powers of Rules flooding into his mind!
Even though it was just for an instant, Long Yi felt as though various things had been crammed into his head. What was more unexpected was that he actually sensed that his Divine Power was starting to regenerate, albeit faintly!
In the past, the Divine Envoy had told him that there was only one way to regenerate Divine Power, and that was to possess Divine Status!
As the light vanished, the bound Divine Envoy started to become transparent.
"Hey! What are you doing!" This happened so suddenly, Long Yi was caught off guard. Although Long Yi had once tried to claim Divine Status from the Divine Envoy, the Divine Envoy also told him what Divine Status meant to a Divine Envoy.

Long Yi sneered, and his Cosmic Stone Greatsword thunderously cleaved through the rocks in front of him, shattering countless seeds, some of which remained intact. Long Yi picked up one seed, which had originally planned to attack him, but the moment Divine Power infused into it, it stopped moving. Soon, the transformation was complete.
Upon tossing the modified seed back, it immediately sprouted countless roots and began to plunder the nutrients from the surrounding seeds.
"I admit that dealing with you is difficult, but fortunately, I don’t have to do everything by myself!"
With the experience from the first one, gene modification using Divine Power was just a matter of moments. One seed after another was thrown out by Long Yi, causing immediate chaos underground, while he promptly left the subterranean with Ai Lin and the others. Above ground, the battle continued, with some people starting to suffer injuries. Though each seed wasn’t very powerful, their sheer number was overwhelming!
By now, many seeds had flown out; if those seeds landed on a planet with inhabitants, the vibrations they emitted would make everyone aware of their presence. However, if they landed on an uninhabited planet, that would surely become a disaster.
"We can’t hold on! Our mana is nearly depleted! Long Yi! Didn’t you say you had a way? Where’s your solution?" a Mage shouted.
"My solution is on its way," Long Yi said.
As he spoke, countless roots suddenly gushed from the ground, astonishingly capturing all the seeds that had flown out and dragging them back into the earth. In an instant, not a single seed could be seen on the ground anymore, while the deep rumbling and vibrations from below continued to reach everyone’s ears.
People looked at one another, some still unsettled, eyeing the ground in fear of another seed appearing.
"It’ll take a while for the roots to spread throughout the entire planet, but since there are no other living things elsewhere, I suppose there’s nothing to worry about," Long Yi said, approaching a severely damaged armor.
"Yes, we can feel the agitation from below settling down. I believe this time, it’s really over," the armor spoke.
Long Yi nodded.
Suddenly, the ground was torn open again, and a huge seed struggled towards Long Yi. Strangely enough, the seed’s movements were rather awkward, looking quite uncomfortable. Everyone around tensed, ready to attack, but Long Yi simply extended his hand. All of a sudden, the seed burst and a massive bolt of dark gold lightning struck Long Yi’s arm, lasting several seconds before ceasing, turning the seed to ash.
"Power of Rules," the two Guardians of the Ancient Mage Tower tasked with dealing with Long Yi exchanged glances and murmured quietly. Their eyes quivered slightly; though Power of Rules wasn’t uncommon for them, it was their first time witnessing such formidable Power of Rules.
Having retracted the greedy snake, Long Yi could distinctly feel its lethargic satisfaction, the result of overindulgence. (To be continued.
