Chapter 521: Chapter 520: End of an Era

Void moved closer to the destination as his expression slowly changed in understanding.

The familiar aura belonged to a Rank 3 demon from Dreadborne.

At this moment, the Rank 3 demon was battling a terrifying entity that seemed immune to physical attacks. It had a swirling, shapeless body that could attack from any angle. Not to mention, its body was made of Laws themselves.

"Rooooarrrr!"

The creature roared as it charged at the Rank 3 demon.

For Void, the space before him collapsed as time rewound to where he had left.

As it turned out, their trip had failed, bringing back even more injuries. This time, Osiris died so they could survive, but that wasn’t enough. Azar was trapped, and his death had almost been decided. Yet it was not the woman he loved or cherished who saved his life, but someone who loved him even though he never felt the same way for her...

Vela used her life in exchange for his, and he survived.

Azar felt guilt.

He felt broken and empty.

Yet he still felt no love for her, it felt he sacrificed vela for the world.

The woman he truly loved was the only one in his mind.

In the end, only Azar, she, and the last man remained alive.

Tofan, Vela, Osiris, and the rest had all died.

It was the final deciding battle.

In a few months, they would launch their full attack.

If they won, the world would be safe, and humanity would be brought back from the brink of extinction.

But if they lost...

Lost?

No.

Once they died...

Humanity would die with them.

Azar trained like never before.

The remaining two did the same.

The day arrived rapidly as they charged into battle.

But alas...

There was something called the inevitable.

And that...

That broke them all.

The world crumbled as they were brutally beaten one after another.

At one point, both Azar’s and the other man’s lives were at stake, with the woman Azar loved forced to decide who would survive.

It was at that moment that Azar’s heart broke.

She chose him.

As the two embraced for a brief moment, forgetting that Azar had been on the verge of death...

She was beheaded.

At that moment, time itself seemed to stop.

The man ran madly toward the enemy, attacked, and then died at the hands of the Dimensional Beast.

Seeing her head fly from her neck broke something inside Azar as the past resurfaced.

Then...

His heart shattered as he wept.

Their curses rang inside his mind.

"I curse you.

The day I met you, the time, the hour—

you shall always fall for someone who will betray you.

They will sacrifice you for the world."

"And I curse you.

You will always fall for a woman who will never want you.

You will watch her leave you for another man.

You shall never find true love.

And any woman you fall for... is cursed to die."

Each word was like a blade piercing Azar’s heart as he smiled while tears fell.

"AHHHHHHH!"

Azar screamed as his eyes turned emerald in color.

Something took over him.

He changed.

And from that moment on...

A monster was born.

He destroyed the Dimensional Beast before leaving Earth.

Wherever he went, everything in his path turned into ruins as he grew stronger and stronger.

The one who was meant to become the protector of the multiverse had instead become its destroyer.

And with this done, Linkir had succeeded as a gap appeared and Dreadborne descended.

The multiverse had its own forces.

Its mighty civilizations.

But one by one, they fell before Dreadborne.

Then the two met.

The new Azar destroyed the first army of demons he encountered.

Then another.

Then another.

The years passed.

Now it was the final battle.

Linkir, after destroying Azar, the chosen son of the multiverse, had gained most of the control over the multiverse.

She had become its ruler.

And Azar had become disposable.

His end had finally arrived.

Void blinked as space shattered before returning to normal.

Now his gaze , after looking at this strange creature changed.

He could see the pain.

The insanity.

And the curse of love.

He couldn’t help but think back to the interaction between his clone, Osiris, and Linkir’s clone.

Void pondered.

He was discovering things he had never thought about before.

"This power of love is something else," Void muttered with a chuckle as another memory began to play.

This was their first life.

Azar became the villain.

Vela fell in love with him but later realized it had been a mistake.

Azar killed everyone...

Then Void discovered their curse and their rebirth, and everything finally became clear to him.

Void felt creeped out.

Could love really make beings capable of destroying universes act like this?

Impossible.

But then, while thinking about his enemies...

At least the ones he considered worthy of remembering...

Didn’t Shen Ye love his sister?

The revenge...

The hatred between him and Void...

It had all started because of what Void did to Shen Ye’s sister and the torture she suffered.

The same was true for his newest enemy, Chu Su.

Void had done exactly the same thing by killing her girlfriend.

And then there was even his own slave...

Sword Demon.

It was the exact same situation.

His disciple, Shen Ye, was hurt by Void, causing Sword Demon to stand against him.

At first, this multiverse had been nothing more than an experiment.

Void wanted to see whether the name Dreadborne could exist independently.

They had first started with Dared Multiverse, where Void tested whether Dreadborne could stand on its own.

Now...

They no longer even needed Void.

Linkir, despite being merely a Quasi Rank 4 being, had proven that she alone could conquer an entire multiverse with Dreadborne.

The plan Void had conceived years ago had finally borne fruit.

His organization had slowly taken shape.

From a single little orc he had enslaved...

Linkir had grown into a force that could no longer be ignored.

Void chuckled.

Even through this...

He had learned just how powerful certain emotions could be.

"But..."

"My revenge is still not over."

Void’s eyes narrowed.

"It is time for you, Darkseid, to die."

Void muttered as his aura turned murderous.

Glancing one last time at the battle between the Rank 3 demon and Azar, Void slowly tore open space and returned.

Deep within the core of the multiverse, Linkir’s true body opened her eyes.

"Did I just sense Void?" she muttered.

Then she scanned the entire multiverse, her gaze passing over the ruins and the battle between Azar and the Rank 3 demon.

Void was nowhere to be seen.

Linkir frowned lightly, but she still turned her head toward the tiny silver consciousness bouncing around as its size rapidly diminished.

She had almost full control of this multiverse.

Just a little more...

And she would have conquered this multiverse for Dreadborne...

And for its master.

Void.
