Chapter 656: Chapter 642: Fighting Alone

Blood, dripping drop by drop.

The sound of the injured groaning near death filled the air, accompanied by the excited howling of Li Long. As a qualified Summoner, occasionally releasing the Summoned Beast to foster mutual feelings is a crucial step.

Soft green grass, fertile land.

But there wasn’t a trace of humanity; instead, there was a swarm of clawing mutant creatures. The corpse of a Garfield cat lay not far away. Compared to the cherished pet it once was, now its size was no different from a lion, its face still plump but its gaze shrouded in a bloody hue.

Just like order: when humans win, insects and beasts disappear, but elsewhere monsters achieve victory, and humans become the ones who vanish.

Monsters occupied the streets. On some of them, faint traces of pet cats and dogs could be seen, but now they’re no longer the playful pets of the past; they’re butchers who delight in devouring flesh.

Li Long’s aura was exceedingly fierce, far more terrifying than the Beast King here; thus, after rising atop this desolate ruin, not a single creature dared attack Chen Feng. It was he who constantly sought opponents, allowing Li Long to unleash a killing spree wantonly.

The air reeked of a strong scent of blood.

The Inferior Demon in the distance was driving a group of mutant domestic pigs, while Li Long was gnawing on monster corpses on the ground. It was a scene of great impact. Li Long’s appearance was far from endearing, but its strength greatly appealed to Chen Feng, especially its long tail. When it swung, tons of weight descended and could even shatter the stone piers of ocean bridges.

"This world has changed!"

Chen Feng stood atop a high slope, observing monster shadows flashing by, unable to discern joy or sorrow in his eyes. An entire city of humans had been devoured by these monsters, and the densely piled bones along the path gave the illusion of entering a ghost realm.

Such is the state of the world; two months had passed since Chen Feng had given Lu Wei the command to explore. During this time, Lu Wei personally led the team in a series of explorations around.

The northern region was occupied by a group of Beastmen. Yes, those who pitied themselves, declaring from their hearts "Beastmen shall never be slaves," yet they enslaved the original masters of this world, becoming their targets of wanton torment.

Having gained experience from exploring Chasm Gate, the Dark Department members chose not to disembark but observed from a distance for a while. Compared to the small tribe close to Order, a city a thousand miles away was inhabited by no less than hundreds of thousands of Beastmen. It was evident that a Dimensional Rift for Beastmen had been opened there.

Unlike Chasm Gate, the Insect Realm was firmly suppressed by Chen Feng. Not to mention ordinary insects, even two legendary Insect Emperors perished. It had become Saruman’s Necromancer Holy Land, with untold horrifying experiments conducted on insects there.

Chasm Gate was fortunate to have encountered Chen Feng, avoiding annihilation, but other places weren’t as lucky. When dimensions opened, frenzied beastmen emerged like giants. In perhaps a single encounter, they would destroy human-established strongholds. Compared to half-beastmen, beastmen were like walking beasts with only primal desires of conquest.

Unlike insects or zombies, when encountering humans, their primary goal was to satisfy their hunger. However, beastmen would leave humans alive, treating them as slaves, subjecting them to wanton abuse, and even using women as tools of gratification. Though alive, such a life was worse than death.

These beastmen would force women to bear offspring, and during the assault, some would inevitably die from unbearable pain. Adhering to the principle of not wasting, they would consume those bodies as delicious food.

With nothing hindering them, beastmen were teleporting through the rift batch by batch. It’s easy to imagine that when their surroundings were littered with corpses, they’d pound their chests and roar with fervent fury.

I conquer, I am elated!

Perhaps this is the proclamation beastmen most desire to express!

Everywhere were corpses and survivors akin to walking dead.

What was once a homeland had become a nightmare from which they could never awake. For the surviving humans, death might be the correct refuge.

To the west, the area was engulfed in flames. A modern city was completely shrouded in black mist. According to reports from Dark Department members, they spotted at least four volcanoes in the city center, one of which spewed lava, contaminating the surrounding area for miles with ash.

As dimensions fused, the world underwent many subtle changes. Besides different races, even some environments were assimilated. It was apparent that it was a gathering place of volcanoes, distortedly merging with the Human World. Just imagine, humans who once labored for tomorrow found several erupting volcanoes suddenly appearing near their dwelling.

Humans simply couldn’t fight against nature. The outcome was evident: some burned, some fled, and even with no monsters rampaging, it became wasteland, attracting unique creatures to inhabit it.

To the east, zombies roamed rampant—not zombies created by Naraku, but true zombies. A whole city had been assimilated, from elderly women in their seventies to babbling infants. A city of millions had turned into a world of the necromancer!

Zombies aimlessly wandered every corner of the streets. For food, zombies would kill each other, devouring their brains for survival and advancement!

Upon learning all this, Chen Feng couldn’t help but feel downcast. Though prepared, realizing there was no mainstream human power across thousands of miles around felt lonely and desolate.

Order had reached a point of fighting alone. Most humans hadn’t endured. They either died of hunger, disaster, assault, or chose to end it out of despair.

Loneliness is more terrifying than the chill of high places.

Apart from bones and enslaved victims, humanity had lost its former glory, falling from the top of the food chain to the dirt.

Chen Feng stood on high, looking afar, showing a rare hint of melancholy. From now on, he had only himself to rely on...

Unintentionally, Order, the city personally established by Chen Feng, had become the last pure land within a thousand miles, or perhaps humanity’s final pride!
