Chapter 566: WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!
"Like hell I will allow you to summon your beast!" Vulcan roared, thrusting his palm forward. At the same time, the Pyroclast Drake aimed its maw at Leo, and both of them unleashed a flamethrower attack simultaneously.
"Lord!" Thalvyr immediately rushed in front of Leo to block the flames.
"Stay put; this is not going to do anything," Leo said casually.
Both Naelith and Thalvyr stopped trying to shield Leo. It wasn’t like Naelith hadn’t tried to manipulate the flames, but Vulcan’s fire carried lava properties, while hers was pure fire, making it much harder for her to control.
But by then, the flames had already engulfed Leo whole.
"HAHAHA! Burn away, fool! You deserved it!"
At that moment, someone with golden hair came scrambling through the crowd. The instant he saw Naelith and Thalvyr standing defensively while someone was being consumed by the torrent of flames, his eyes widened.
He looked past them and saw the Pyroclast Drake and Vulcan.
"VULCAN! WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING?!" Dale shouted.
Vulcan turned toward him with a grin.
"Dale, my good friend! I am taking revenge on this motherfucker! He got me into a tight spot inside the secret realm with the help of the dragons."
"IDIOT! I AM NO LONGER YOUR FRIEND!!" Dale shouted in panic as he looked toward Leo within the flames.
"What are you spea—!" Vulcan abruptly stopped.
At that exact moment, a massive shadow loomed over him.
Grrrr-R O A RRRRRRRRR!
Agnivar’s voice exploded into a furious reptilian bellow that instantly blanketed the entire area with overwhelming pressure.
The sheer pressure made everyone nearby break into a cold sweat and feel weak in their legs. Thankfully, almost everyone present was an awakened individual, or they would have collapsed like the city officials who were buying the flame treasures; they had already collapsed.
But the most affected was a single creature along with it’s human.
The Pyroclast Drake.
It immediately ceased its attack and dropped flat onto the ground, its head pressed against the earth and its forelimbs stretched out before it in complete submission.
And since Vulcan was connected to the drake to some extent, he was affected as well. His knees instantly gave out beneath him, and he collapsed onto the ground.
Even Nirvan had fallen because he was barely considered an awakened individual, possessing only a 1-star talent and a Soul Rank said to be even lower than Common Rank.
The only one still standing was Hilda. Her wide eyes quivered as she slowly backed away with shaky steps.
"H-how did it c-come to this..."
Flap! Swwooosssh!
Agnivar beat his wings, sending dust and dead grass swirling through the air before landing in front of the drake.
Thud!
He stared at the beast with eyes full of contempt.
"Mere overgrown land lizard, you dare attack my Lord?" Agnivar growled in a low, threatening voice.
The drake responded with nothing more than a pitiful whimper as its body trembled uncontrollably beneath the overwhelming draconic pressure Agnivar was bearing down upon it.
"Damn it! My ice cream melted," Leo muttered as he stepped out from the torrent of flames, staring at the charred remains of the ice cream dessert clinging to his palm.
He immediately used water to wash it away.
As he did, nearly everyone present felt their minds go blank upon seeing Leo.
He didn’t have a single scratch on him.
Not even his clothes were affected!
"How..." Naelith muttered as she witnessed the anomaly.
Leo hadn’t actually used any aura or water to protect himself from the flames as he had during their fight before. He had simply... let the flames burn him?
Even Thalvyr noticed it.
Even though Leo’s strength, which was at the cusp of High 4-star, would have rendered the flames useless either way, something still felt off about what had just happened.
It was as if Leo was immune to flames.
Leaving that aside, Thalvyr was also being affected by Agnivar’s overwhelming presence.
"Agni, relax a bit. No need to get so worked up over some trash."
As he spoke, Leo walked up to Thalvyr and patted him on the back.
"Now don’t get scared of him. He’s a good guy and wanted to escape the realm just like you—to save his girl."
It was then that Leo noticed Dale staring at the wyvern in awe.
"Dale!" Leo called, drawing his attention.
"Shouldn’t this fool be among the top ranks in your academy? In that case, aren’t you two friends?"
Dale’s mind went blank at Leo’s words.
He had worked so hard to improve his relationship with Leo, even nearly dying to the Behemoth back in the secret realm just for the chance that Leo would forgive him, and Vulcan was about to throw all of that down the drain.
"I-I... He is not my friend." Dale responded with a dumb smile.
Leo raised a brow. At that moment, Vulcan heard him.
"B-bastard! We promised to stay together for life because we could cover each other’s weaknesses! You are my sworn brother! Save me!"
Dale’s pupils contracted.
This motherfucker!!
He immediately looked toward Leo and raised both hands in surrender.
"We WERE."
Then he turned to Naelith.
"Miss Elf, please inform Sir Leo quickly that I broke my friendship with Vulcan just now."
His eyes were practically pleading with her to confirm it.
Naelith nodded.
"Yes, my Lord. This man just did that."
Leo shrugged and turned his attention back to the grovelling group.
Under Leo’s intense gaze, Hilda, who had barely been managing to stay on her feet, finally collapsed.
"Y-you, stay back!" Vulcan stammered as he forced himself to stand.
Leo continued walking toward him.
Swwosh!
Vulcan hurled a fireball straight at Leo, but—
Vrosss...
The fire harmlessly slid across Leo’s frame.
Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!
More useless fireballs followed, along with a flamethrower, but nothing worked.
Leo was completely immune to flames.
"C-Captain Jacob! Use your Earthen Spike to impale him! I can still forgive you for your cowardice today!" Vulcan shouted desperately.
But Jacob didn’t respond.
He had already lost consciousness the moment Agnivar appeared.
"Y-yo—"
Leo simply walked past Vulcan without giving him a second glance and stopped in front of Nirvan, who was half-foaming at the mouth but still conscious.
Leo looked straight into his eyes.
"What guts were you talking about again?"
Grip!
Leo grabbed Nirvan by the collar and lifted him until they were face-to-face.
"Why are you not saying anything? You wanted Naelith, right? Does your dick like brain still want it?"
But at that moment, a furious presence rapidly closed in on Leo’s location.
