Chapter 255: Chapter 255: Chase Shaw’s Mark
The scent of the Alpha’s pheromones grew stronger, and his arms were like iron bars, impossible to budge.
Zoe Pierce was pinned against the wall, her feet dangling high in the air, her legs forced to clamp around Chase Shaw’s waist.
Chase Shaw buried his face against her and kissed her for a long time.
Before long, Zoe Pierce felt a reaction from her gland, which had previously been dormant and not emitting any pheromones.
Chase Shaw’s nose caught the scent as well. He immediately lifted his head, the corner of his lip curling into a smile as he carried her out of the mecha bay.
Zoe Pierce’s clothes were in disarray, and now, aroused by Chase Shaw, she draped herself over him. Her arms and legs swayed with his every step.
Outside the elevator, Chase Shaw couldn’t help but catch a glimpse of their reflection in the brightly polished doors.
The slender Omega and the rugged him.
Zoe Pierce’s entire body was pressed against his.
Her fair skin was a stark contrast to his tanned complexion.
His hand moved to the nape of Zoe’s neck again.
The thin layer of her gland hadn’t yet become soft and swollen.
She wasn’t fully aroused yet.
The best time for a temporary marking was when the gland swelled slightly from its usual thin state.
Realizing this, Chase Shaw’s kisses became more frequent.
Even before they reached the room, Zoe Pierce was already feeling dizzy.
He nudged the ajar door with his leg, pushing it open just enough for them to pass through.
Zoe Pierce was laid down, and in the next moment, a deluge of kisses rained down on her.
A cool sensation washed over her body as she was pulled into his embrace.
The Alpha’s body heat was intense. As he brushed against her cool skin, a contented sigh escaped him.
His large hand braced her back, and for a moment, Zoe’s heart leaped.
Unobscured, she felt for the first time just how large Chase Shaw’s hand was. A single one of his hands could nearly span her entire waist.
She suddenly felt a surge of panic. Looking up at Chase Shaw’s frame, she had never found him intimidating before, but now her heart pounded with fear.
Chase Shaw...
’He’s so big.’
From his bone structure and height to the corded muscle he’d built all over his body.
None of the four of them had physiques built for aesthetics; their bodies were forged through high-intensity training, radiating a sense of power and intimidation.
This was especially true for Chase Shaw. At nearly two meters tall, compared to Zoe Pierce, who was not even one-point-seven meters, she was like a helpless little bird beside him.
She didn’t usually notice it when they were clothed, but now, with their clothes gone, everything was thrown into sharp relief.
"Chase Shaw..." Zoe Pierce said, panicking a little as she pressed a leg against his chest.
Chase Shaw’s breathing was already heavy. Hearing Zoe’s voice, he ran a hand through his hair and looked down at her. "Hmm?"
Her eyes were timid, clearly nervous.
Her milky white skin looked smooth and luscious.
"Zoe, are you afraid of me?" This was the first time Chase Shaw had seen her like this. She’d never worn this expression before.
’Who wouldn’t be afraid?’
Zoe was already panicking just looking at the one part of him that was still covered.
Her previous time with Nathan Lockwood had been a wild blur. She hadn’t paid attention, hadn’t really looked, only remembering the full, bloated feeling in her belly afterward.
But now, she was soberly aware of that shocking curve. Seeing it, and the disparity between their bodies, she couldn’t help but panic.
Chase Shaw’s hand closed around Zoe’s foot. She’d been at home and had just slipped on a pair of slippers to open the door; now she had no idea where they’d ended up.
Her rounded toes were now curled tightly together in tension.
And now that he was holding her foot, she grew even more tense.
Zoe’s gaze flickered downward, and Chase Shaw was certain he knew what she had glanced at.
"Chase Shaw... I’m scared..." His gaze was like that of a starving wolf.
She watched him cup her foot, toying with it as if it were some amusing plaything.
She tried to pull her foot back, but he held it fast.
Chase Shaw looked tenderly at Zoe’s trembling body, seeming to understand the source of her fear.
If it were anything else, he could do something about it. But this, he couldn’t change.
It was innate.
All he could do was kiss her, trying to soothe her fear. His lips were like a feather’s touch, starting from her forehead and trailing all the way down to the top of her foot.
Zoe seemed to grow even more panicked, her fingers clutching nervously.
’But he hadn’t even done anything yet.’
He let out a slow breath. ’What should I do? How can I make her feel better?’
’Maybe if she can’t see?’
’That could work. It’s still too bright out anyway. I can wait.’
Getting up, Chase Shaw took one of his white button-down shirts from his Space Button for Zoe.
On Zoe, his shirt was loose and baggy, making her look like a child who had snuck into an adult’s clothes.
Before Zoe could react, Chase had pulled her into his arms and was fastening the buttons.
"Chase Shaw?" she asked, confused.
Chase Shaw hummed in response. "Hmm?"
’Why did he suddenly...’
’...stop?’
Zoe didn’t know what she was supposed to do now.
Chase Shaw nuzzled her earlobe. "Just a little longer."
He had always been patient.
Suddenly not having to face it, Zoe couldn’t quite process her own feelings. It was strange. After all, it was plain to see that the Alpha hadn’t lost interest, yet he’d suddenly stopped.
It wasn’t as if he’d lost interest. He still had her wearing nothing but his white shirt, sitting on his lap with her legs bare.
He held her, continuously grinding against her.
’So much for today’s study session. Absolutely no progress was made.’
As night began to fall, there was another knock on the door.
Zoe was still wondering who it could be when Chase walked out and returned with a package.
She walked over to the table and watched as Chase unwrapped the package, revealing something that looked like incense.
Chase Shaw glanced up at her, then lit it.
If she didn’t know what it was at first, she certainly did an hour after he lit it.
She could feel her own glands beginning to emit a stronger fragrance.
There wasn’t much of the incense; it burned out completely in about an hour.
Chase Shaw waited until the sky was completely dark before he made his move again.
With the moonlight blocked out, the room was pitch-black.
He swept her into his arms again, just as before, and carried her back to the bedroom.
Their breaths mingled.
At last, he succeeded.
Sweat slicked their bodies, sliding from the roots of their hair down to their tailbones. They were both drenched.
The scents of Cedar and freesia from their glands grew so thick they filled the entire room.
Finally, he had marked her as well.
Scooping the Omega into his embrace, Chase Shaw heard Zoe mumble something before he closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep as well.
The next morning, Zoe was woken by her alarm. It took her a moment after waking to realize what had happened: she had spent a chaotic night with Chase Shaw, starting from the afternoon before.
The Intelligent Brain’s alarm woke Chase Shaw as well. Seeing Zoe sit up, he immediately pulled her back into his arms.
As she fell against his body, Zoe suddenly remembered. She pushed at him. "I have class, Chase."
Yesterday, he’d said he would wait for her at home.
There was no way she could miss class today. She couldn’t afford to skip this one; if she did, Zoe couldn’t even imagine what kind of strange rumors would start.
