Chapter 254: Chapter 254: Patience Running Out

An Alpha’s sensitive period was, in some ways, longer than an Omega’s heat.

The reaction wasn’t as intense as an Omega’s, but it involved a prolonged state of high sensitivity.

They became more responsive to any Omega’s touch.

The restlessness was also much greater.

From the moment she opened the door, Chase Shaw had handed the items to Zoe Pierce and then practically draped himself all over her.

She was so small, and the Alpha was so large; Zoe felt like she wouldn’t be able to support him at any moment, even without using her spiritual power.

After Chase Shaw finished speaking, Zoe’s neck inevitably turned red.

His lips brushed against her crimson neck again and again, accompanied by heavy, ragged breaths.

Chase finally lifted his head from Zoe’s shoulder.

He grabbed a bottle of water from the dining table and chugged more than half of it.

An Alpha in his sensitive period was only marginally better off than an Omega in heat.

Chase desired Zoe, but he didn’t want to frighten her.

He asked in a hoarse voice, "If you want to see it, let’s go downstairs."

The basement of the house had been hollowed out to create a space for basic Mecha practice, as well as a training room for spiritual power.

Zoe couldn’t help but stare at his flushed skin. "Are you all right?"

Chase shook his head. "Today’s the first day."

It wasn’t the hardest part yet.

Having gone through a heat herself, Zoe knew that the beginning was the easiest part. The middle and later stages were the most difficult to endure.

But since Chase wasn’t taking inhibitors, it meant he would be in this agonizing state for the entire next week.

Zoe followed Chase into the elevator to go downstairs, biting her lip. "Chase, I have classes..."

She couldn’t just stay home every day for a week.

’Should he take an inhibitor now, while it’s still early, just to suppress it a little?’

She just didn’t want him to suffer every day.

Whether they did it or not wasn’t really the issue for her, given the current situation.

She wouldn’t refuse him.

But Chase said, "I’ll wait for you at home, Zoe."

For the first sensitive period of his life without inhibitors, Chase wanted to spend it with Zoe.

"I’ll hold back." His hands and his mouth were two different stories. One promised restraint while the other unceremoniously kneaded her waist, pulling her into his arms.

Zoe felt as if her back was pressed against a volcano—scalding hot and immense.

Sweat seemed to soak through her clothes in an instant.

The moment their skin touched, she could immediately feel his spirit sea, which she had just managed to soothe, begin to tangle up again as if tying itself in knots.

Zoe frowned, a little exasperated.

They were already standing right in front of the Mecha room, but Zoe couldn’t help asking again, "Are you really okay?"

Chase reached out and opened the door first. "I’m fine."

He walked in from behind Zoe, then stood by the door, gesturing for her to enter.

’This man is being too stubborn.’

Zoe bit her lip, her brows knitted tightly as she looked at Chase.

"I want you to praise me," Chase finally mumbled after they had been standing in the Mecha room, just staring at each other.

If they didn’t look today, they probably wouldn’t get another chance until his sensitive period was over.

Chase wanted to get Zoe’s feedback right away.

Zoe was simply at a loss with Chase. These men were all a bit stubborn; when it came to their relationships with her, they were always very insistent on their own ideas.

And at times like this, she felt just as Aaron Xavier had said: she was too soft-hearted.

She always couldn’t help but give in.

’It wasn’t a big deal anyway. If I give in... then I give in...’

Resigned, she took out the Mecha Space Button that Chase had made.

In the blink of an eye, a towering, agile, all-black Mecha appeared before them.

Chase walked over to the inner side of the Mecha’s left leg, took Zoe’s hand, and led her over. "Here. This is usually where the Mecha Maker’s name is engraved."

The raised characters were palpable to the touch.

There were no other names. Only his name, Chase Shaw, was there.

"I didn’t dare leave my name on the last one." Although it was nominally the Mecha Maker who left their name, he knew things were different.

Zoe reached up and felt her own name there as well. "I didn’t..."

But Chase cut her off. "Yes, you did."

"You designed the exterior."

"We made this together."

It wasn’t a gift from him; it was their joint creation.

’Chase is just trying to humor me. Can my few tweaks even be called a design?’

’He’s completely blinded by affection.’

He wrapped his arms around her again. "Do you like it?"

Zoe had no reason to dislike it. She nodded her head rapidly, as if afraid he wouldn’t see.

Chase easily guided Zoe to the outer edge, pressed a button, and the hatch opened.

"Go on, take a look inside."

This hatch was clearly larger than the last one, and even the internal Mech Bay was bigger than before.

Following Chase into the Mech Bay, Zoe discovered that the space was large enough for two people without feeling cramped.

His hand had been clutching hers the entire time, never letting go.

Zoe felt like her hand was a piece of dough as he kneaded it over and over, turning the back of her pale hand pink.

She felt that inspecting the Mecha like this was a form of torture for her, too. With an Alpha breathing so heavily beside her, it was impossible to ignore him.

Yet Chase explained everything with meticulous detail and earnestness.

He was afraid she wouldn’t be used to it.

Since the Mech Bay was larger this time, many aspects of the layout had been modified and were different from before.

Zoe listened patiently until Chase finished, unsure if she had actually retained any of it. All she knew was that she breathed a sigh of relief.

She had just managed to climb down from the Mecha when she suddenly felt her body being lifted. In the next instant, Chase had swept her completely into his arms.

It wasn’t a princess carry, but the kind where he just hoisted her straight up under her arms.

Zoe almost instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck, then realized his arms were now cradling her from below.

Another puff of hot air ghosted across her neck.

"Zoe." Chase was losing his control.

He even managed to free one hand to caress the back of her neck, unerringly finding her suppression patch.

Then, before Zoe could react, he ripped it off.

An Omega’s pheromones, hidden by a suppression patch, would normally take some time to emerge. But anyone who had taken a biology class knew that just a little stimulation was enough to make the temporarily suppressed scent surge forth.

And the simplest stimulation was physical.

Zoe’s hand gripped Chase’s hair. The Alpha was being unreasonable, biting down directly.

But it wasn’t a truly vicious bite; it was more like a grinding motion.

Through the layer of fabric, he seemed to be using the biting motion to probe for something.

At first, Zoe didn’t understand, not until Chase found the spot he wanted to bite. She couldn’t hold back, biting her lip and tugging his hair.

The thin fabric couldn’t stop a person.

Let alone teeth.

It instantly reminded Zoe of that day at the dining table in the old mansion.
