Chapter 116: STUPID DREAM
"Are you going to involve him?" Caiden was in disbelief. "I think it's not wise to entangle yourself with them further, Khaos. You don't know their motivation. Yes, they seem to have the same goal like us, but you don't know their true intention."
Khaos lifted his head from the report he was reading. "You have been opposing me lately, Caiden. Is that your new hobby? Find something else."
Caiden huffed and puffed. "I am not opposing you as a hobby, okay. You are quite scary for me to annoy, but you seem off ever since you have an attachment with her." Caiden nodded at the sleeping Zuri. "I can understand if she is your mate, but this attachment is... weird."
If a lycan attached to someone else, it must be their mate. Caiden had never heard of anything about 'Shell' until recently.
More so, the way Zuri attached to Khaos it almost looked like an obsession. Her attachment to Khaos was very fast, it almost ridiculous. Not to mention how her personality changed drastically since the first time they met, though it was only a few months apart.
"If there is nothing else you wanted to say, you can leave."
Caiden pursed his lips, unhappy to be kicked out. "Is that your new hobby? Kicking me out?" The gamma used the same line to retort and this made Khaos put down the report in his hand and looked at him sharply, only then he knew his mistake and immediately scrambled out of the room. "Got it! Got it! I am leaving!"
However, he was not quick enough, because Khaos managed to hurl one more order for him, since he had a lot of 'free time'.
"You keep an eye on Rhett."
Caiden paused. "You know that I don't get along with him, right?"
"I know."

Nycta was woken up when she felt someone squeezed her left breast and when she opened her eyes, she found Dacre was holding her.
"Dacre..." Nycta called his name sleepily and he smiled at her.
"My apology for waking you up, but I couldn't hold myself back." He leaned over and whispered to her ear and kissed her jawline.
Nycta smiled at the king and opened her legs for him. "You can wake me up anytime, my king." She was glad enough for Dacre to look for her to fulfill his need, instead of looking for another woman.
"I will do it more often," Dacre hummed as he undressed her and capture her nipple with his mouth, eliciting moan from Nycta.
Soon enough, both of them was thrown into the throes of passion, their moans of delight were the only noise that echoed in the bedroom, faint sound of it could be heard in the not-so empty corridors.
Killian was standing guard alone there, he heard everything and his expression darkened. The images of their tangled bodies flashed before his eyes and he was not happy.
The noise only died down when it was close to morning and not long after, the king walked
out of the room, his hair was messy and he reeked of sex. He smiled at Killian, who avoided to look at him in the eyes.
"Are you upset?" Dacre asked, standing next to him.
"No."
"You are clearly upset," he concluded. He tilted his head up, so he could look at him. "I don't like it when you are upset."
"I am not, my king. I will not dare to do that."
Dacre chuckled. "Yes, you are." He gave him a kiss on the cheek. "I will make it up to you later."
"With what? Letting me sleep with her?"
Hearing that, Dacre let out a dangerous growl. "Don't you dare to touch her." He bit his lip until both of them could taste the blood.
"Don't do that. If someone saw it. You will get into trouble," Killian said breathlessly.
"Then don't make me." Dacre wiped the blood from his lip, as his wound started to heal. "Don't touch her, I am being serious here, Killian."
Killian could only bite his tongue.

Zuri woke up with a start, she felt like she had been sleeping for a long time, which was true, since she passed out for almost two weeks and when she finally regained her consciousness, she found herself back in her bedroom in River Creek pack.
And to her surprise, Khaos was laying down on the bed with her, playing with her hair, their eyes met and Zuri could be mistaken, because she could see relief washed over him. Those beautiful grey eyes looked so calm and collected.
"You are sleeping for so long," Khaos said, smiling lightly at her.
"How long?" Zuri snuggled against his chest, she liked his smell and if she could, she only wanted to breath in his scent, because it gave her a sense of peace.
"Two weeks, almost."
"What happened?" Zuri knew what happened, some time it happened to her in the past too,
but it had never been this long.
"You had a breakdown," he said through gritted teeth.
Rhett told Khaos to say that, since he had been telling Zuri the same thing whenever she just woke up from the ritual, thus the excuse was acceptable.
"I have a long dream," Zuri said with a yawn. She felt tired and sleepy, even though she just woke up from a very long sleep.
"What dream?"
"I forgot what dream... but, I felt in so much pain and very sad." Zuri squeezed Khaos's body,
burying her face against his chest to hide her tears. She forgot the dream, but the feeling still lingered. "I think... you hurt me. That will never happen, right?" Zuri lifted her head and looked at Khaos. "Right? You will never hurt me intentionally."

Khaos stared at her for a while, he saw the fragile and vulnerable woman in his arms and his answer sounded very hollow.
"No."
"I know you will never hurt me. Stupid dream."
